Thanks. I dont have the RP theme tho (no png or .theme/resources). I imagine it needs UXTheme? From what I can tell, its like a combination of AeroLite and Aero themes. But if it works without UXTheme, I'll definitely find it. (and am searching for it after this post ). I suppose that since it is from a version of Windows 8, then its possible it might work without hacks. {edit} ahuh, thats cool. No need for edits I think. {Edit} Ok I added the RP theme. But I am not seeing how it is different to the AeroLite Theme... So I gues it needs UXTheme afterall {Edit} Tried a different download and now it works Its quite nice! Except I guess I would need a new PNG to work out the resources - The glow is not enabled on the theme. EDIT Yes its on the theme but not as intense as I'd like. I'm gonna work out how to extract the png now {Edit} Ok I have not quite worked out how to extract the resources for a theme from the .mui files but I will get there. Interesting thing I am noticing about the windows RP theme - some people mentioned previously that certain applications like Explorer and Paint had no text glow (and I noticed this when I tried them also). Well in the Windows RP theme, those applications have perfect text glow, while other applications have a glow, but its very faint. Which leads me to believe that in the RP style sheet png image, it would should the correct location for the Explorer et al text glow. Although, the Windows 8 theme default style png provided by BigMuscle is a bit messed up when using the Windows RP theme. Since the default RP theme have some bugs I modified the default RTM theme and added the resources from RP, not all but most of them, and yes, you need a uxtheme patcher, I use Uxstyle because I don't want a modified dll. You can change the glow amount behind the text but you can't add glow in all windows, most of applications are not dependant by theme...

That's another story, impossible. I think is hardcoded.

Edit the default aero theme with Windows Style Builder and add the resources from RP, borders, caption buttons, etc...

Nvm, I did it using Windows Style Builder.

Ok, edited the default aero theme and changed the borders, shadows and the caption buttons with the ones from Release Preview, it looks much better but something is missing, the glow behind the text in window title. I also added the glow texture in the msstyle but from what I know you must hex-edit NORMAL.RES in VARIANT to enable glow. The problem is that I have no f**king idea which is the address for that! Some users with experience in theme editing can help me? Thank you.

Not working, got them from win7 theme and imported in aerorp...

Thanks I think I found it It uses some trick to add these w7-like glass lines. I'm willing to bet removing the sharp corners will do the trick Yeah that was it rounded corners are working now, but without the glass effect for now I want rounded corners, tried to do it myself but the border files I found in .msstyle were already rounded and didn't worked, any help? What files should I change?

The amount of blur in d3d can be changed in the current version(0.7) by modifying that reg entry or you will add it in the next version? --edit-- Or you talk about win7?

I must admit there is no HideBlur in my Win7 installation and neither DWM knows this value. But it works, disabled blur when used that command in the latest version of windows 7. Ah, only enable/disable blur, no blur amount control? I will miss d2d because the gpu temp is a bit higher with d3d...

From what I found on google, PainteR made a patch for Start8, is the same PainteR? Why he is in the 'thanks' section?

Thanks for TEAM CRUDE was added by me since 2.0. Sorry if it confuses anyone; they're crackers but deserve a thanks for their hard work.

I have a little issue, downloaded version 1 a long time ago from a forum, installed the app, changed some options, blabla.. then I checked the official website of SIB for updates and I found out that SIB is not free and there is a 30 day trial, then I opened the properties in SIB to see how many days of trial are left but the app was fully activated, of course, that was fine for me. Then I recommended SIB to a friend, he downloaded the setup from the official website and after the installation he checked the 'About' section and his version was trial. I started to search on google and found a lot of links with "StartIsBack pre-activated CRUDE", the strange thing is this TEAM CRUDE, their name is written in the 'About' section of SIB, then I realized that I have an pirated version because my friend don't have those names in 'About Section' and the trial was active. Uninstalled the app then downloaded a new version from SIB official website and bought a license for 5 pc's, the application was successfully activated but those names are still there, my friend don't have those names. The question is, how can I remove those names from there? Re-installed, cleaned registry, nothing works. I can prove I have purchased a license for 5 pc's and what you see in screenshot is a legit version downloaded from SIB official website and activated two times, the second time was when I tried to get rid of those names by re-installing.

CustomThemeResource should be a string value and the data is the file name or the whole path?

Lower the color intensity in Personalization Menu?

Works perfectly, with this version the windows are still laggy with the GPU idle clock profiles but the lag is less noticeable, moving the window a bit will change the p-state and the lag will disappear but the p-state will change again in idle, for now I will live with it... --edit-- Increasing the clocks of an idle profile will improve performance but when opening more than 3 windows guess what, the lag appear, forcing a higher p-state and again, performance is improved, this time the lag will appear after opening not 3 but 6 or 7 windows, forcing the highest p-state, the gaming profile, will fix the problem but who wants the highest clock profile in desktop/idle? This is not native aero, it's like a D3D game with huge system requirements.

If you open more than ten windows in explorer, then you grab a window and move it over the other windows you will notice a big lag, but this can be fixed by closing some windows. Btw, loaded the glass with the system. Unfortunately, as I said earlier, there is some problem that causes poor performance with layered windows in your computer. And there is very small chance that this will ever be fixed (unless someone finds a way to correctly composite hidden areas of desktop without layered windows). Btw, can anyone confirm that the problem with fullscreen games has been fixed in this version? Will never be fixed? I'm not the only one with this problem, did you tested it on a notebook, did you asked other notebook users? Yes, I played some bioshock infinite and there is no lag with aero enabled

Yes, it is a DWORD32bit value and D2D. --edit-- Ah, **** ,the value can't be 0, setting blur to 0 will make the borders black. I got it.

Unfortunately, transparency & animation does not work well with Windows 8. This may or may not be fixed in the future. Disabling transparency and using Aero Glass 0.5 for Windows 8 will solve the problem, we have full aero with soft animations . But the Aero Glass project is a bit laggy with my GPU(GTX 670M) idle clocks, so, for now I will disable transparency and enjoy the soft animations. I'm sure this can be fixed somehow.
