  1. Sure, here it is...X360C.EXE [150 KB]: http://www.mdgx.com/files/X360C.EXE HTH
  2. Great project! Keep up the good work. FYI:Careful there... On Win9x [95/98/ME] OSes + as part of MS IE 6.0 SP1 CAB SDK [iexpress package] extract.exe does not preserve LFNs. Only Extrac32.exe does. On WinNTx [XP/2003/Vista/2008/7] OSes extract.exe does preserve LFNs. For the sake of saving disk space [Miniwin style], the Win9x version of extrac32.exe has probably a smaller file size. Or if 1 boots to native DOS or from an OS-independent bootable CD, extract.exe from Win9x/Iexpress can be used [it's even smaller], but 1 needs to make sure no LFN files will be needed for the Win9x mini-install. IMO... And if the author of this project cares and has lots of time on his hands , the mini-9x bootable CD ISO can be created from native DOS or from within Win9x, or even from an OS-independent bootable CD. Some of the UBCD web site scripts [free open source, GPL] can probably be modified to work for this purpose, those guys already achieved this: boot to native DOS [low level, real mode (no virtualization)] from a burned CD full of tools for salvaging, restoring, partitioning, formatting, etc.. 1's OS, drives, files, etc. All 1 needs is a PC with a CD burner. I'm not sure if they've also created a bootable USB. [?] But of course, that's a time consuming task. HTH

  4. Some of the CAB files found inside such installers are not 7z/rar/zip/ms-zip/lzh compatible, they are custom CABs built by the developer [mostly the ones by Install Shield], and to date I haven't found a tool able to extract files from them. 5. Have u tried User Agent Switcher Firefox add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59 Modify User Agent so the web browser identifies itself as Internet Explorer 7.0 or 8.0, and change your OS to be recognized as Windows XP or Vista or 7. If that doesn't work try using MS IE 6.0 SP1: http://www.mdgx.com/ietoy.htm#6S1 to access Hulu. More info about the "User Agent" registry value [same for Win9x + WinNTx, all editions]: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=892761 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=140434 HTH
  6. Thanks.OK, I will try. BTW, is compatibility preserved also with KernelEx 4.0 Final2 , Tihiy's Revolutions Pack 9, and Maximus-Decim's Big HDD 3.1? Should be.I haven't tested RP or Kx for a long time [both were old editions], but I've never had problems. Big HDD actually contains files installed also by 98SE2ME, so it should work 100%. To be honest, the only Win98 SE OS I've been using [for > 9 years] is the one with 98SE2ME installed. There is another package similar to Big HDD at my site, if you wish to test, has files installed also by 98SE2ME, and they all work 100%: http://www.mdgx.com/add.htm#TLS * Microsoft Disk Defragmenter (DEFRAG.EXE 4.90.3000 from Windows ME), Hardware Diagnostic Tool (HWINFO.EXE 4.90.3000 from Windows ME), System Configuration (MECONFIG.EXE 4.90.3001 from Windows ME Q272719 Hotfix), Disk Scanner (SCANDSKW.EXE 4.90.3000 + SCANDISK.EXE from Windows ME), Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE 4.90.3000 from Windows ME = modified to work with all Windows 95/98 releases), Registry Scanner (SCANREGW.EXE 4.10.1998 + SCANREG.EXE from Windows 98 SE), SCANREG.INI Editor [sREDIT.EXE from Windows 98 Resource Kit (RK)], MSDOS.SYS Editor [bOOTEDIT.EXE 1.0.0.1 from Windows 98 Resource Kit (RK)], System File Checker (SFC.EXE 4.10.2222 from Windows 98 SE) + File Manager (WINFILE.EXE 4.10.1999 16-bit from Windows 98 SE Q267375 Hotfix = modified with custom 256 colors bitmaps + icons) Tools for Windows 95/OSR1/OSR2/98/98 SP1/98 SE: http://www.mdgx.com/files/scanfrag.php Direct download [1 MB, English]: http://www.mdgx.com/files/SCANFRAG.EXE This NEWer DEFRAG.EXE does NOT recognize/defragment DrvSpace/DblSpace compressed/doubled drives/partitions! 8. I've thought of that, but the way it is in your INF and the other way [i'll get to that a lil later = pls see #2. futher below] it is in the INF available inside maximus-decim's older NUSB 3.0 English executable, doesn't make sense to me.#1. Let me explain... [the way it is in your modded INF]: In my INF [uSB20DRV.INF from USB20DRV.EXE] there are 2 NTMP driver strings for 2 different sections of USB installs, depending on the type of USB device (in this case EHCI + HUB) needed to be installed (only relevant strings quoted here): If I replace both with just this string:HKR,,NTMPDriver,,"WDMSTUB.SYS,USBSTOR.SYS" it defeats the purpose of installing separate drivers for different devices/types. So this is what I did, to (hopefully) make every USB device type "happy": Please let me know if this makes sense to you (and others) who know more than I do about how USB drivers work, and if further modifications are necessary. Thnx. #2. Another string I noticed exists [remarked/commented out] in maximus-decim's older NUSB 3.0 English INF [_NUSB.INF], is this: which did not make sense to me either.Let me explain... The 0000 instance used in m-d's INF may or may not be allocated to the respective USB device, because no 2 systems are the same, and because everybody has different types [vendor ID] and different quantities of USB devices installed. Therefore the 0000 instance may exist in the registry as 0001, 0002, 0003, etc... up to 0050 [most of the hardware devices can have up to 50 instances if memory serves (51 actually if one considers the 0000 instance) listed under specific sections in the registry]. For example, this is my 98SE registry relevant section: Hopefully the "fix" I made to USB20DRV.INF [pls see #1. above] should take care of this issue too. Pls test the modded USB20DRV at your convenience: http://www.mdgx.com/files/USB20DRV.EXE Best wishes, Happy Holidays + Hpy Nw Yr! HTH

  13. I can't be sure that the french installer is guilty.Matze is doing a lot of work on his site. He had translated several version of Win 98SE SP2 & SP3 with no problem. Could it has been something with my PC (or settings)? I had copied the 'win9x' folder from Win Me install CD on my HD (C:\WINDOWS\Desktop) [i think the .pif read everything from it], and the original CD was still in the first optical drive (E:) Matze's installer is pretty old, maybe some bugs seeped thru [?]. Just a thought.Anyway... 98SE2ME.EXE [most recent edition = December 2009 (this may or may not be true for 2 years old editions)] must be run first in order to install all needed files [which are extracted from the executable], which always install in the C:\9!M folder. From then on you can run the PIF file [98SE2ME.PIF] from C:\9!M to install any option you wish from the main menu. Your copy of Windows 98 SE OS can be anywhere on any hard drive/partition that can be written to. The WinME setup CAB files [all of them] can be anywhere [but all must be in the same directory], on any drive that is connected to your computer, and that you have access to and which have file systems [FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, CDFS, UDF] Win98 SE can recognize. That's all I can think of off of the top of my head. IMO: You'd be better off installing the new 98SE2ME [December 2009]: http://www.mdgx.com/4 even if it has only English files, because most bugs have been fixed since 2007 [and you'll get newer files], and to see if everything works ok. Just select to backup your entire Windows OS at install time. Options 1 or 2 give you a backup choice, which is recommended, especially if you have never installed 98SE2ME before. If you wish to install option 3, your original files will be backed up automatically, so you can restore them in case somthng goes weird. If you have installed 98SE2ME before, then the backup routine will only backup the WinME files, not the originals. HTH

  16. Sorry to hear that. 98SE2ME French edition is not my work. It was created by Matze (MSFN user) a while back. You can probably contact him at: http://www.matze.fr/post/2008/09/13/98SE2M...nts-FR-12122007 Now that I know about the errors, I'll remove it from my site until Matze can fix it. Thanks a lot for your concern.

  23. I haven't read Adobe's end-of-life policy, but we should expect Flash 9.0 to be retired soon [probably at end of 2009], so they won't release any more security bug-fixes anymore. Last Flash 9.0 security fix is 9.0.260. For end-users [like us] though, newest [bug fixed] versions of Flash 7.x, 8.x + 9.x are still available from Adobe web site: http://www.mdgx.com/toy.htm#SHFL Links were valid as of December 19, 2009. 24. Wow! You sure did spend quite some time working on this. Thanks a lot for your feedback.I'll add all newer files you mention to 98MP10 ["synchronize" with MP9URP9X], soon. FYI: - laprxy.dll : I found out WMP works better if this file is in %windir%\SYSTEM , that's why 98MP10 installs it there. Should be no problems, because the scripts [98MP10.INF] take care of all registry settings, to make sure all laprxy.dll references point to %windir%\SYSTEM . Therefore if there is another copy in C:\PF\WMP , it won't matter, WMP will use the one in %windir%\SYSTEM . - wmpns.dll : is installed by default [MS official WMP installer] in C:\PF\WMP , and it looks like it works better if it is there. If there is any other wmpns.dll copy anywhere else, must be deleted. Edit: PS: Could you pls email me newer browselc.dll from Q331485, at your convenience, eventually the MS installer, if you have it? Many thanks. I've got the hotfix in e-mail from MS. Thanks for your trouble. Cheers, MDGx
  25. 98SE2ME is designed to work 100% with unofficial 98SE SP2 any edition, including the latest 3.0 beta 4.To my knowledge there have never been problems installing these 2 packages. I strongly recommend to install SP2 3.0 beta 4 first, and then 98SE2ME, as stated in READ1ST.TXT under the "FAQ" section [read1st.php is just a "wrapper" web page for the .TXT file]: http://www.mdgx.com/9s2m/read1st.php FYI: Just to be safe, select to backup your entire OS [when you install option 1 or 2], if you have never installed 98SE2ME before: http://www.mdgx.com/9s2m/98setome.gif If everything works ok, you can always delete the backup later: pls see READ1ST.TXT for complete details under the "BACKUP + RESTORE WINDOWS 98 SE" section.
