programs like paragon ntfs for win 9x are at best very buggy so it's doubtful ntfs will come to win9x in a stable enviroment.
win9x was never designed to run on an ntfs file system only fat and fat 32,for one thing ntfs wasen't really perfected till windows 2000 and ms wasen't really concerned about adding ntfs support to win 9x but only to the NT oses.

you can already boot from the 98 se cd on boot just you need to configure your bios to boot from cd rom first
a good idea would be to slipstream the 512 MB fix into the 98 installation, at least try to do that...

2000/xp r completely different beasts than the win9x beasts
nt is a big beast with big fangs while dos is the small beast with small fangs.

it's strange cuzz notepad2 doesen't lag on me yet i prefer it over regular notepad
maybe it's your setup that lags it or something.

i would have suggested winrar but it costs money.
i've used 7zip before and i know it works(i use winrar atm)

xpraider provides xp icons but no xp theme or sounds
best combo is xp icons+2000 color scheme but i'll try it under 9x

how would i go about doing that?either getting them from a similar setup 98 pc(laptop)or a 98 cd(those files would be older than the one on the laptop)i've already uninstalled option 3,before doing that all worked fine,after i uninstalled option 3 i would be unable to search for files or folders.

hey mdgx if i were to get that explorer.exe and comdlg.dll and shell32.dll from another windows 98 pc that is setup similar would it fix the find files and folders problem or would it be impossible to do it?

i also ran into some problems with that help update
afterwards i couldn't open help and it said it couldn't find helpctr.exe

some ppl don't like to do it your way then some do it your way,sides bud sum ppl can't afford a hardware upgrade just for xp
98 runs on crap hardware,xp not really
or sum ppl just like 98,others like xp
i personaly use xp sp1 corp as sp2 has caused a few problems(i won't upgrade to sp2 as sp1 does what i need to sides it don't mess up)

well now that that app that mdgx finaly gives me choices n stuff in combonation with the 98se sp 2.0 rc1 ,i've had more speed than problems plus it makes it look more modern

i run a dual boot of xp and 98
xp as main os but 98 for other stuff.

sides only businesses use it,not a typical home user..usualy.

atm i will only use gape's sp
for one thing plz put it in english and is it like gapes sp but better or would it be another good sp for 98 se?

some ppl can't afford to goto xp or even longhorn when it's released or even upgrade there hardware for it
for that reason 98 will be around longer than me or possibly longer than 2000
it might be 2nd to xp in terns of usage/etc...

the sp 2.0 rc1 doesen't have the windows update bug

or maybe all those drivers that are included on 98 be updated if possible or be able to slipstream the 512 MB limit fix so we can install 98 with 1 GB instead of 512MB.

giant antispyware beats this hands down even though there the same,giant works under win9x and this one don't.

but there are problems after installing paragon ntfs so i would not bother trying,ntfs mighr be able to be emulated or maybe it would need to be integrated into the fat32 partition so maybe that fat32 thinks it's another fat32 partition wheras it is ntfs. and that would be the bridge so even though fat32 won't see ntfs partitions that bridge or possible emulation could allow 98 to see ntfs.i hope that made sense.
