it is better to have your cd rom and hard drive on there own ide channel(hard drive on primary and cd rom on secondary)if on the same ide channel they have to share to channel(the bandwidth or speed)on there own channel they get there own bandwidth instead of it being shared)

and only use apps your gonna use, that helps and make sure you optimize the system, also you may have apps that may have memory leaks=can drain alot on system resources.

i have the limit vcache setting set to 999 and i have 768 and it sees it,the sp 1.6.2 fixes the limit but the 2.0 beta has no uninstaller=should have waited till 2.0
azagahl:He asked whether anyone got it to work, not your opinion on whether it should be allowed.
Please stop posting unhelpful messages.
Thanks.
those kinds of words should not be spoken publicly,no1 needs to know that,if you wanna say that pm me,it only takes 2 seconds to do and saves alot of unnessary trouble
anyways it seems that athlon 64's will work in 98=very good,i do wonder sometimes why ppl wanna use such high powered cpus into an old os like 98 but thats that.

i use apps from here:
a program called resource meter and wallpaper manager
resource meter allows you to see how many system resources you have without going to my computer/properties/performance plus it shows more than what the windows version does and allows you to have it auto start with windows.wallpaper manager allows you to change your computers background and to stretch it or whatnot,if you use 98lite to remove active desktop your unable to stretch your images and it allows you to change the picture on startup to random pictures.use rbtray to minimize items from the taskbar to the system tray,go here to dl it rbtray.narod.ru , to play movies i use xcodec pack, search google for x codec pack,it doesen't delete a directx file that other codec packs delete.i also use ie 6 not ie 5,want anything else besides programs that i use?

slipstreaming didn't come out till windows 2000
he said partial slipstream,i think he means wait till sp 2.0 for that
if this could be slipstreamed into a 98 install that would be great.
