all we need now is the ability to slipstream all these updates into the windows 98 installation so say u got 1 gig of memory, you'd be able to install 98 with 1 gig instead of 512 then add that other 512 meg=1 gig

that proggy makes the background white and i use blue backgrounds so very useless unless your using a white background.

and if this sp for me makes it very viable then thats good
if only 98 could support NTFS then it would be very stable
also you should be able to slipstream these sp's into a 9x install like what 98lite can do.

what do you mean?when you add new hardware windows 98 and me already both detect it.

crap cleaner
www.ccleaner.com
it's free and is one of the best around

erpdude8 you are 100% incorrect about service pack 2
it can be installed under xp by slipstreaming it and windows media player 10 can be installed under windows xp sp1 &sp2
stick to 98 or 2000 if you don't want xp's activation
the corp editions don't need activation.

what i would do is make a partition and put all the stuff you wanna save there and format your main partition then grab the stuff you saved from that partition and delete it after you've got everything out of it.saving your stuff and formating would be the best thing to do but what i'd do is remove all your drivers then shutdown the pc then repair xp then install your new drivers, use driver cleaner pro 1.0 for your video card drivers(run it in safe mode)

even an old computer would benifit from the sp
it adds updates n more
it would make it look more modern
98 support will end on june 30th 2006 but 98 is used by many even to this day so ya you should use the sp.

and i would install the 2.0 beta 3 instead of the 1.6.2

even when i offer them xp home with activation crack
Um...
eh, AVOID using any XP activation cracks/keygens! Many of them don't work
with the XP home edition I have. Stick to using legit versions of XP. Best to
get Windows XP with a brand new desktop or laptop computer. More expensive
but you won't encounter upgrade hassles with xp when installing it on an older
computer. Certain updates and addons will refuse to install or impair pirated copies
of xp [wmp 10 is one of them].
All versions of Win98 [including WinME] will last beyond MS's extended support
date of june 30, 2006. Windows ME is technically 'Windows 98 Third Edition'.
Win98se & WinME include full WDM [Windows Driver Model] support; Win98fe
(1st edition) does not. Love Win98 SE AND WinME; they rock!
Doom 3 requires at least a Pentium 4 machine, 1.5 Ghz CPU with at least 384 megabytes of RAM.
Can't run it on PCs slower than 1.5 ghz processor. Look at all the minimum
requirements for Doom 3 either on its product box or check its web site.
are you sure wmp 10 does that?from what i've seen it hasen't

why ty
very useful addition and maybe a possible addon to future sp's

i had problems with that paragon ntfs proggy,it froze/etc...
well maybe adding optional xp icons as well as the 2000 icons
better slipstreaming like what 98lite does.and maybe add ie 6 to 2.1 or so.

the MAX CACHE SPEED tweak:
Another Windows 95/98/ME limitation squashed! 1 down, 1 zillion to go... Ouch!
Forget what I told you about setting your Windows 9x/ME File System cache to "Network Server", detailed in "NETWORK SERVER", also in REGISTRY.TXT [part of W95-11D.EXE]. Those are only the maximum ALLOWED values from: Control Panel -> (double)-click System applet -> Performance tab -> File System button -> Hard Disk tab -> "Typical role of this computer" box -> "Network Server", and respectively "Read-ahead optimization" slider -> Full -> click OK twice -> reboot. This setting (highest available) allocates about 40 KB of RAM to cache the last 64 accessed directory paths and the last 2729 accessed files.
But you can further increase these settings BEYOND the Win9x/ME GUI limit, to the next level, otherwise unavailable from the System applet, to have your computer cache up to 3 (THREE) times more files and directories, and speed up hard disk performance substantially.
The only disadvantage is that this way Windows will allocate up to 3 times more physical RAM to the file cache, which is taken from the available memory pool, normally used by applications/games. Therefore I recommend doing this ONLY IF your system has at least 32 MB of installed RAM. This works best on computers with 64 MB and up... and who cares about RAM "shortage" if you happen to have 128 MB or more? :-)

turn off all power management from control panel/power management
power management is known to cause problems

when i installed this it took 2GB of space
it all depends on your windows folder size,if it's 6 GB then the app will take 6GB(i doubt thats possible cuzz with fat32 the max it can be is 4GB)

giant antispyware works on 98 wheras ms antispyware does not
xp can indeed be installed under fat32 but officialy to a max of 32GB,there is a way around that 32GB limit
windows 98 will be around for many more years to come because of many reasons
some software like office 2003 don't work under 98 wheras office xp(2002)will work with 98 but in like 5 years from now, no new software will work for 98 unless companies still support 98.

install 98 then xp or if you do it another way you'd need a 3rd party boot program like system commander

the sp ads the w2k color scheme and w2k icons so it would look like w2k

i don't think you can use 98lite on anything other than english
