Well I didnt search because I didnt honestly think the switch was wrong. I had it installing fine on my last 5 test installs.(so it wouldnt just stop working) Seemed not to install when I added the media codecs. This was 4.11, so I downloaded 4.12 and tried the same syntax and was also a no go. I know what the code is, I pasted it from you from another thread MCT about 2 weeks ago But I will rename it (obvious thing to do ;/ ) and try. Wrong forum section m8, also depends on the program, some have application switches which allow the registration info to be specified. but others you may have to enter using a .reg file to change the registry

tOOt Done it , sorry simon but there is alot of info on your guide and I did not see the WinRar way of doing things. I now have everything installed default with no plugins, and to do the plugins and etc I will do the profile.exe later on tonight

Thats the thing, unattended installs are ment to be for ease of doing a reformat/setup and also clearing out the junk and optimising your system by tweaking the registry. So whats the point of me installing loads of extensions which I do not need and also themes which I would rather drink bleach than look at! Ive tried reinstalling and looking for the msi in my temp files, but was a no go. I know its not complicated, if you dont or cant help me then dont bother slandering me - totymola has offered to help and its not as if im asking for anything out of the ordinary or have been too lazy to do myself, because I have tried.

Will you be able to do that? If you just make the simple .msi for the defaut firefox with no added extras, or do I have to add my extras too? From what I can tell - I can use the standard firefox and install my preferences/bookmarks/themes/extensions using the SFX setup explained by Astalavista? Thanks again.

Thanks anyway - Suppose you cant get everything how you want because the msi editors mentioned to me you have to buy for alot of money yes you can get test versions, but with limited functionality I do believe. So Ill stick with the msi and then just un-install the un-needed bits. Thanks again.

Im on about my post, it doesnt say I said simon made it. It thanks him for the guide, it says I downloaded the msi in his guide and that I ask how I can change it to take out the un-needed stuff, No where in my post does it say he made the msi, because he wrote the guide I took a assumption he would know how to edit the msi.

Would love to know the answer to this, I have also tried but to no avail.

pls read it again... the msi is made by Totoymola not simon And the answer to your question, is u hv to use InstallSheild 10.5 Express or Installshield Pro to edit the msi. simon's firefox contains plugins if u want just the themes and extensions u want. Use the systemI found. just click on firefox link on my sig. I didnt say he made the .msi It says the msi came from his guide - which it does, but not that he made it. I am trying your guide out now, but I have one question. My OS is about 3 weeks old, so I have been using firefox with its application data profile for that time. So can I still do this and it will have to rewrite that profile? Or will I have to reinstall firefox and make sure I do this first?

Simon - Brilliant Guide mate, followed it easily and works fine However , im quite a simplton and dont really use many themes, only Phoenity and I only use about 9 extensions - of which about 7 of them come with the msi download in your guide. How can I chage it so that I can take out the un needed themes and extensions?

Edit: Ok it did this in FAT32, I dont mind as my proper machine will have already got E: Formated as NTFS, but for future use is it posible to get the drives to become NTFS? - as this tool seems like an efficient thing to have.

Does some body know where there is a good tutorial that tells you how to get FDISK, and to put it into a bootable DOS Diskette? The reason I ask is I have my unattended windows CD ready to test, but I have most apps installing to a different drive. So on virtual PC I have created the right partitions, but I just need to format the drive else none of the programs will install during the unattended setup. I been googling for the last 30 mins but I keep getting those rediculous sites wich are hard to read because they cant even be bothered to write thier HTML properly. IE , no <P> tags so all the text is one big block making it hard to read with stupid background images to make it worse.

Dont use Frontpage - go to W3C Schools and actually learn CSS and html. The power of these things, actually learnt by yourself wipe the floor with the dirty code producers of front page and dreamweaver. I use Scite and Photoshop Trial for all my web work, and it hardly took anything to learn proper XHTML and CSS2.0. http://www.neocrome.net/~mekrel86/ making my personal page atm, but it doesnt validate as the LDU sessions get marked up during validation, but as static HTML the front page (only page done atm) marks as full 1.1 Transitional and CSS2.0 valid. Firefox: W3C compliant - if you code valid, this is how your site should look, but at the same time firefox can do some pretty stupid things. I saw a person once where his site was viewable in FF only. It was because he didnt close a comment tag - thus commenting off his whole site but FF still displayed it. IE: Cant even render CSS2.0 properly - I thought it was just the Psudeo classes but on my site the #bottom Div is absolutely positioned 29px from the bottom 0 px from the left (and yes positioned in a relative element #container) . In FF it appears where its told to, but in IE it just doesnt want to display it . but nvm its just 1 layout image.

Some sentances make it look like its either as by the use of "I would strongly recomend against this method" but the thing that gets me is the bit about impoting a custom registry settings - which is what the hive enditing does. Hi, On the Unattended Guide site, it says you have to extract the kerio Persion firewall setup file and create an ISS file. but with version 4.12 (think thats the one I have) you cant extract the setup using winrar. So how do I go about getting to install this unattended? Im using a batch file to install my things by the way. Many thanks and seasons greetings to all.

from the looks of your screenshot, you have not slipstreamed SP2 into it, as there is no .sp2 file, but a .sp1 file. unattended CDs need SP2 to operate
