  1. Did you try this: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download ?Or maybe here: http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download-toshiba For example: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tools/bluetooth/20303-eng.zip?Submit=Download Thanks Nomen, this driver works-installs utility-I just had to look for it. It doesn't install bt sound drivers like Widcomm does but that's ok for now. Widcomm installs more drivers but ends up looking for the license.dat file and says "license is expired" when I start the utility.
  2. I have a Dell Truemobile 350 -glad to find the above dlink.com site DBT-122 C Driver 5.1.0.1100 installed the drivers for it. I believe it's a toshiba chip because Dell names toshiba in their 2k/xp inf files. The only problem is the software says "no bluetooth devices installed" when I reboot but everything looks good in device manager. Maybe something will work either Dell or Dlink by doing some replaceing-mix and match?
  3. I'm trying to install 98se on a Dell Inspiron 8600. It's been rough--lockups trying to install pci, usb drivers. Intel 855 Chipset drivers and the tweaked Nvidia seem to load ok till it gets to usb installation. I do have my cd key memorized now though. I've been writing down the order I install drivers/updates and trying different orders. Haven't figured it out what works yet. I might have a hardware issue though- when it warms up it takes way longer to load stuff. I'd love to talk to someone who's accomplished this.
  4. I only have the WMP54GX, the others have similar drivers. I believe it's possible to use these in 98se but I have'nt been successful yet. Has anybody else have an interest in using these in 98se?
  5. I'm going to put the MB in other case or install XP and see if it works. right now it has trouble loading the drivers for anything I plug in--code 2 and happily assigns the unknown device from the sp3 inf.
  6. Thanks everyone. I used the site from submix8c and found this diagram. My usb cable only has pins up to pin 8. According to this it looks like I need 9 and 10 which seems strange. I guess I need a different cable. usb.doc
  7. I'm having a problem with my KT600-(Via 8237 chipset-athlonxp), not being able to use the front usb ports. It has two hubs in the back and two onboard pinouts for the front-which I'm only plugged into one right now. The back hubs (4 ports) work great. When I plug something in the front it ends up with "unknown device" in the usb section and is disabled. I read about using more than four ports here somewhere but can't remember where. I've tried SP3 and nusb3.3 independently and various Via usb chipset drivers to no avail. Can someone tell me what the problem is?
  8. I have MmIsAddressValid in my WDMEX.VXD replacement for WDMSTUB. I do not know if I have the other missing functions in WNIHDD51.SYS as I don't have a list or a copy of the File. I'd like to try it, how do I get it? BTW the wnihdd51.sys file has: InterlockedPushEntrySList, MmIsAddressValid, InterlockedPopEntrySList, NdisGetFirstBufferFromPacketSafe, NdisMGetDmaAlignment, NdisQueryBufferSafe.
  9. Thanks for the link, I used the link and ran wdmcheck. Only one missing function with wnihdd50.sys file: "mmisaddressvalid" . With wnihdd51.sys, the list is longer. Is there a stub for this?
  10. The only time I get this is when I overclock my Athlon xp cpu. Maybe you can try running the cpu slower just to see if it's cpu related.
  11. It's Airgo. There's only one driver version-has 2 sys files, one for 2000 and xp i guess and one bin file. I have used IDA pro 5.0 to look at them but I'm a beginner %Airgo.DeviceDesc%=Airgo.ndi, PCI\VEN_17CB&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00451737 Yeah, now Qualcomm, not sure why I thought Ralink. Anyway, the "WMP54GX-EU_DRUT.zip" INF looks to be split between W5.0- and W5.1+, so it might work, particularly if WdmStub can help. Have you tried WdmCheck? Joe. No, all the links I tried were broken. Can you give me a link? A while ago I downloaded wdmstub.sys file and referenced it in the inf but it didn't help. Anyway, that zip file is basically the same driver as I already working with; netani.inf, wnihdd50.sys, wnihdd51.sys, and wni6000.bin
  12. Nice one! Does anyone know if kernel mode drivers can run on W98? (I tend to associate these with XP and higher.) This seems a Ralink device. What are the hardware IDs for your card? There may be compatible drivers by Ralink. Joe. It's Airgo. There's only one driver version-has 2 sys files, one for 2000 and xp i guess and one bin file. I have used IDA pro 5.0 to look at them but I'm a beginner %Airgo.DeviceDesc%=Airgo.ndi, PCI\VEN_17CB&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00451737
  13. I've been trying to get Linksys wmp54gx driver(it's MIMO) to load in 98se. It's made for 2000/XP but the inf has some references for 98. It goes through the install process and will give it an interupt and memory but in the driver details nothing is listed. I've modified the inf and now it appears to load the sys file, 802, and various .386 files but get the yellow flag- say's unable to load device driver. I've noticed in xp the only thing listed in driver details is the sys and a .bin file. I don't know anything about bin files. Linksys has used different sys files for 98 and 2000 in the past. Guess I need to find out what's in the .bin file
  14. If anyone's interested, I've found a way to install the drivers and a working utility for the Linksys WUSB54GC to run in Windows 98se. I've not been able to test prolonged connectivity at this point.
  15. You can't use exe installer - try msi version instead from here. Yes, it's true - it works without problem (non-IE version). Thank you rainyd, FP 11.6 msi worked. At first it said "error starting program-missing winhttp.dll" . On Youtube would just show black screen. I found the FP files on HD and set them to XPSP2 mode and then it worked flawlessly. I then changed them all back to "default" one at a time to see which one, and it still works.
  16. I just want to say after I installed SP3 I couldn't access the server( it's XP or later not sure) .My password was changed or deleted all together- not sure. I log on as "administrator" so I can access the server. All I had to do was delete the account and reenter it with the password.
  17. That works for me too! Hallelujah, updates and No more VIA BSOD. Thank you
  18. I'm have been using nothing but Via 8237 chipsets. I'm not complaining just stating my experience - it not only affects USB but also COM ports and accessing other workgroup computer files on ethernet adapter. seems to create a break in the hardware communication across the board. with the network adapter- it keeps trying to access SP3 to install network files every time I change a gateway or other setting. After restoring system I did gain access to usb devices without the BSOD. Apparently restoring didn't overwrite the .inf file(s) from the service pack used to identify flash drive ect. So I'm happy with the way it is now.
  19. I'm assuming it's possible-- can someone direct me to info about getting LAN icon to work in win98se?
  20. I'm using a MSI-7211 Pentium D- boots from a SATA drive which works in compatability mode-although CD drive is on IDE and only reads some of the data on disc. Recent install from win98se cd. Only updates are Microsoft Security update CD(feb 2004) prior to SP3.9. I'm gonna play around with it some more
  21. I've found this forum a couple years ago and I think your service pack is great. I use COM ports in HyperTerminal but after installing main updates(SP3.9)I loose connectivity-( the hyperterminal screen stays blank). So I restored system from backup and it works again.
