i have noscript 11.2.11 but that is not it. have copied the 360chrome folder in two sessions to a usb2 stick (exfat) first the data folder and second the application folder. got a delayed write error when copying the whole folder at once. now 360chrome has all the login data and settings from the extensions when run from usb with my ini file. going to copy from usb to the other computer to check that out. will update this post ... update : copy files from usb to pc1 - same problem. to exclude wired network issues i did copy the 360chrome folder to another xp pc - same problem. so no network issue , only difference besides the processor is that those two other desktops don't have a ssd. had all utp cables measured some time ago and they all checked out fine. from usb2 , 360 runs with all settings and saved data , extensions and all.(waited a minute for it to fully load) so no issue with your files just something strange again on my side.(again) don't have a clue at the moment but my bet is on the ssd / usb to normal sata harddisk transfer. have a laptop somewhere with a ssd so will try that later at some point , am beat now. am not used to any errors on any of my five systems ... sorry to have wasted your time. grtz. edit : found the solution to 360chrome not retaining login data and extension settings after copying the folder to another pc. https://superuser.com/questions/1020479/how-to-migrate-google-chrome-profile-extensions-cookies-etc-to-another-wind had to copy one file from : Application Data\Microsoft\Protect\S-1-5-21-long name ... from pc1 to pc2. that file is created on first run of 360chrome regardless of what the ini settings are. folder name could be somewhat different but look for the "last created" 1kb file. copy that file first before running 360chrome on another pc. now all is retained , passwords , cookies and extension settings. problem solved.

thanks for the reply. tested but it did not work. noscript settings gone , cookiekeeper has the protected cookied list with all set to 0 value. all saved login data is gone together with the site login data set in the cookies. tried even with all entrys in "run after" removed from the ini with the same result. also tried running a clean unpacked folder from the original zip file with the above "run after" modified ini and then copy the data folder. (also tested with your ini suggestion) nothing seems to work. strange thing is scripts in tampermonkey are all there and work , same as my custon.css for the font size. both are hp desktops , not the same but close.

hello ArcticFoxie. me again with a question about 360chrome 13.2206 - v4. have setup the browser with extensions and saved site logins. extensions such as noscript , cookie keeper and tampermonkey. when copying the 360 folder to another xp pc all site logins and extension settings are gone. files in the user data \ default folder are all the same and the same size. any way to achieve this ? regards. comment : have DEP set to alwaysoff in the ini now and can not crash the browser yet. some DEP warning still came up with only changing the settings the regular way only excluding 360chrome. some random memory error from the hardware portion of DEP probably.

reply's are clear and to the point as always. webgl is not needed as i don't play games and it's not used on normal websites. same goes for the custom error page , the "chrome://errorpage" in the tab will do. also agree newer is indeed not always better. and the password manager remains useless without the option to actualy view the login data. so i will refrain from mixing up things between releases and stay with v13.2206. can still reproduce the error using the back button on subscene even with v12.1247. think that has someting to do with preventing users making the same bank transfer twice after using the back arrow. regards.

testing your release v13.2206 against Humming Owl v13.2250 at the moment. some comments on the difference: 1: only way to "upgrade" from 2206 to 2250 is to copy only the files in the 13.0.2250.0 folder from the chrome-bin. simply replacing the 13.0.2250.0 folder with your 2206 folder version results in an error from the loader. this also happens if you replace the 360chrome.exe in the Chrome\Application folder. also need to remember to keep the 2206 skin folder or else everything goes from blue skin tho white. so upgrading would be more involved when you ever come up with a 13.2206 rebuild v5 ... 2: swiftshader folder is present in 2250 and with "--disable-webgl" removed from the ini webgl works. tested here: https://webglsamples.org/ this also removes this error and some others in chrome://gpu GPU process was unable to boot: GPU process crashed too many times with SwiftShader. note : i don't use webgl but would like the option without the above error. 3: when someting goes wrong with a connection there is a custom error page in 2250. you can test here: https://subscene.com/ search for a title , click on a result and then click the "back arrow" to return to the previous page. 4: some minor differences in the user interface setting , for example "search passwords" in personal data. viewing passwords in chrome is still absent. stored passwords can be seen with this small freeware: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/chromepass.html other then the above i do not notice any advantage over using 2250 over 2206. any comments would be appreciated. almost at the point to setting 360chrome as the default browser. it has been a blast tinkering with this! one last question: why did you not release a version v13.2250 as Humming Owl did ? would resolve the issues with webgl , chrome://gpu errors , skin folder , the somewhat updated user interface , the error page and the loader errors.

thanks ArcticFoxie for the explanation. i agree , most risk comes from the user and not xp or another os. have 4 pc's running xp (and one mce) without antivirus or firewall. no user account nags ever so i must have disabled uac in the past sometime. never seen a problem but i do take measures , for example regular full system backups. so i'll take your word on the DEP "risk". others would say your pc with xp will explode the minute you go online ...

another comment on v13-4 version. (xp sp3 x86) had two instances where DEP (data execution prevention) forced me to close the browser. below the DEP window was some error similar to a random crash that i still do not get. happened on some simple valid pages with only a few tabs open. cannot repeat the behaviour even if i open 30 tabs at once. have changed the DEP settings to exclude 360chrome. made a full system backup with acronis before , so will see how this goes. maybe it is because i am running from an ssd without a pagefile ?

changed the MS Shell Dlg and MS Shell Dlg 2 to arial black in regedit. also replaced the ariblk.ttf file with the one from win 10. to many modifications on my end. never mind , i'm happy with the latest v13-4. it's amazingly fast.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/uqusfcjrbox9akz/360Chrome (unran).zip?dl=0 this version has the bold font on xp and the distorted bookmarks at 16 px as can be seen in the screenshots below. thought the skin folder was the issue but using the skin folder from the above version in v13 - 4 does not change anything. so it must be something deeper in the application and i don't have the skills for that. if you don't see what i see in the screenshots then it is my setup that is the cause. have not changed the dpi settings. i agree my setup is somewhat specific so i would not want to waste your time for a win2k skin. am very happy with the latest v13 - 4 as it is. was looking for an alternative xp browser as more and more pages don't seem to work in new moon 28. did not have a need until recent when i had to setup an account and with nm28 i could not. the fonts used in the ui don't bother me much. just posted when i saw they went from bold to not bold with the latest v13 - 4 version. am also preparing if things go completely sideways with new moon 28 also as they seem to with mypal.

yes maybe... have modified the whole xp system to the arial black font. several windows dll files changed and some regedit settings. programs that would not comply i modified with reshacker and pe explorer. a lot of work but worth it for me. plan to use both nm28 and 360 side by side. not sure what to set as default yet , for now it's nm28. am very impressed with the 360 speed and it's capabilities. was new to chrome so it's been a learning curve. was holding of until this got traction and had the energy to dive in. am sure this will attract many more users after this extreme effort on 360! regards.

thanks for the update! some comments on v13-4 on xp sp3 x86: copied the user data folder but forgot about the 360 loader ini. so i lost my stored cookie keeper extension cookies. https://www.cirplex.com/project/cookie-keeper/ sites like this board store the login data in a cookie as weathersites do for location. as i always backup before any change so that was easily solved. you should maybe consider removing "delete cookies" from the ini as default ... as to the xp skin , it has now no more bold text in the user interface or the url bar. that solves 16 px icons on the bookmarks bar but i liked the bold fonts however. i used this from the usercontent.css file from nm28. /* Limit font size */ * { font-size: 13px !important } created a custom crx file with it in the extension dev tools , packed and installed it. in combination with https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/change-all-ui-fonts/loiejdbcheeiipmakhghinclmpafiiel i have set the default to arial black so all the fonts on all sites are the same and the same size. it does not change the font in the user interface however. the above also explains why i miss the bold font in the ui. have some problems with eye sight so bold font is better for me. i find that v13 displays website fonts much better compared to v12. next i exported all cert files from nm28 and imported them in ie8. that solves most red striped https links. setting 360 browser as default from the settings works somewhat but leaves an issue. when using site shortcuts from the desktop or a folder , it still opens nm28. solved this with a little freeware ancient tool , setbrowser. https://www.upload.ee/files/13431321/archive.zip.html pointed it to the 360 loader.exe and desktop shortcuts now open 360 chrome. however not without the warning posted below this post. still working on how to fix that. edit: fixed with this http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_error_opening_Internet_shortcut_or_local_HTML_file_-_Firefox anyway , long story short , great v13 version that i have not seen crash yet. no matter what i try , youtube and all. thanks for reading and looking forward to the win2k skin , but no rush.

hope you can create a new v13 skin folder for this. also , about the useragent change. some sites complain about outdated version , others will follow. for example https://www.etsy.com/ on a side note : have added this to the ini to keep the 360 v13 folder size more static. hello ArcticFoxie. thanks for your effort on providing the v12 and v13 mods. testing both on win xp sp3 x86 against nm28. started some customizing. have two isues i cant resolve. on nm28 i use roomy's toolbar to display bookmarks icon only on the bookmarks bar. on 360 v12 i can get that by "set max width for tiles" to 16. on 360 v13 the icons shrink to a rectangle with a partial letter displayed. solved this by using the skin folder from v12 in v13, but the theme is now all "white chrome like". that is not the correct way to "solve" this however. would it be possible to get a classic gray xp skin without the blue and with the bookmarks icons display correct (without text) at 16 px? i prefer v13 over v12 because of the bolder font used , for example in the url bar. secondly , i can't seem to change the custom useragent in dev tools network conditions. i mean i can but it's not saved. last i would like to report no crashes on youtube at all. thanks for reading.
