  1. you can go into the registry and change your version to workstation and that will allow you to install your A/V software...

true, but im not sure how stable will the software be if you install it this way, i would reccomend getting corporate antivirus and firewall.

also check this link, on one of the last pages of the guide you will find a list of antivirus software known to be working with win2k3

  2. from my experience i find windows xp the most stable version ever...

the first time i used it it was a beta version that i got from MSDN subscription and i remember that it ran without a crash for 6 months on my work computer...

however the more stuff you install on the system the less stable it gets, so i would advise to reinstall windows and if this doesnt help it is probably a hardware problem...

  3. It doesn't appears there because this is a Server operating system. It's like, you don't expect to get an MP3 Autoradio with 6-CD charger in a battle tank, or suspensions in a boat. That would be pointless.

    lol

thats true, but why they kept the 'Scanners and cameras' tab in the control panel then?

does that mean that there is a place to put the CD-changer in a tank, but it just doesn work properly?? :)

  4. you might want to defrag if you have problems with cd burning, i had a buffer underun problem once burning large heavily fragmented file...

but in general if you dont have any problems, you should just burn as is...

R600, the files are not nesecerely copied to a temp folder, they are if you use windows cd burning, or if you specificly enable it in other burning software.

  5. thanx guys, will check all that stuff out.

checked the computers again, no viruse here. we never run outdated software, or outdated antivirus on the mashines (strictly prohibited by myself :) )

didnt receive any complaints yet, will hope its not too massive....

    thanx for the help

  6. thanx for the info

no, no virus here, i did checked the header, and found the ip of the sender, traced it to Shanghai....

i also looked at the mail server, the emails are not being sent through there, it has SMTP password authentication as well...

but this doesnt help me much

i assume that its just some spammer, using my address in his emails... just dont know what to do about it...

  7. lately i get returning messages to my corporate email saying that the message could not be delivered to the recipients for different reasons, the only problem is that i didnt send the messages. so i can only assume that someone sending spam stating my email address. i wouldnt care if that was my personal email, but as you can guess this cannot be good for a company, giving the impression that we send spam.

any ideas what can be done about it?

    thanx

  8. ok, just to let you guys know that i managed to find a work around for the problem, so if any of you have this problem here it is:

upgrading or changing rules for kerio winrout firewall 5 didnt help, so what i did, i enabled the proxy server that is built-in in kerio, and all the other computers now connect to the web through it, and not through NAT, so this way everything works. only the browsers on the other computers using proxy, the rest off the programs still using NAT, since it works fine for everything except HTTPS.
