Thanks man, ill give that a try in Virtual Machine now. Path is on %CDROM% so that might just be it... And maybe log? You think I need to specify a log path? Like on llustrator 11 CS I had to run the Setup.exe and specify where to put the log file, since it runs from CDROM and not HARDDRIVE.

CRAP! It did'nt work! WHY IS IT SO HARD INSTALLING THIS PROGRAM The autoit posted on previous post only gave an error when i tested the unattend in virtual machine. I ran the Setup.exe (autoit) with no switches, and i got an error I cant recall corectly, but something with invalid installer handle or something similar. It didnt launch the setup.msi or continue the setup script

Hi. I get numerous errors of this kind randomly when testing in Virtual Machine from Microsoft. Theme does not apply correctly etc. Even sometimes my pictures and my music is not present after install. But this does NOT happen on a real install. Strange, but true...

Thanks man. I did sure not make it work It only started the installer like if I had manually clicked the .msi installer myself. Although when I came to the registration window it had already filled in info (not from abcpy.ini).

That was not successfull. I get a message that the installer does not support hiding of dialogs. After i have made the .mst and the shortcut It only opens the installer where i have to click next and so on...

Sure, Ill test it tomorrow. I don't use nlite or such, but have /integrated hotfixes. I previously used Bäshrats slipstreamer 1.1 and that worked perfectly! So lets hope this do also Will there be any point of "upgrading" or doing it again when you release the next version where we dont have to modify the files?

I dont know what an .mst is Can you please explain to me? I'd really appriciate some help here, as this is the last thing on my UACD before i can call it a final and write it to a DVD. This last app is giving me problems installing, and for days i havent figured out anything yet on how to solve it Except maybe autoit? but ive never used that.

Yep, i'll report my results (Norwegian language) as soon as ive tested it in VM.

My svcpack.inf is not compressed, and not my hotfix .cat files either, does it matter that your files to put in svcpack dir is compressed?

When I add the entries to DOSNET.INF, TXTSETUP.SIF and SVCPACK.INF. Does it matter Where below the [section] I place the entries? BEFORE/AFTER the once already there. I have now placed all entries RIGHT BELOW the [section] before the excisting entries. Is this correct?

Yzöwl: You think its better to run commands through WPI like that than to have WPI run a config.cmd after each app? Will you eg. gain any speed advantage by doing it directly through WPI?

First, your line does not say COPY /Y but just COPY, also I don't think your supposed to do it like that man... You got it wrong. Make a batch and run it after install. Thats how I do it, and it works like a charm.

Hm think i've tried it all now and out of ideas, anyone got a clue why the silent install is not accepting my product key? (outputs it as an error). I find this so strange, as it is NO PROBLEM if i run the install with the .msi normally in windows. (all info filled in from abcpy.ini correctly)

I don't have a setup.exe, only an "adobe illustrator cs2.msi" and it gives me an error when i silently install it, but not when i double click the .msi. Weird....

What does the autoit do? can you please show the code, and when do i run it?

Did anyone succsessfully install adobe illustrator 12 cs2 silently? I get a key error, although my key is correct. I have modified the abcpy.ini file to include my info, if I run the .msi manually it works perfectly and my reg info is already entered and accepted. But whe i run the msi with /qb I get an error. (XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX error.) is what it says. Any ideas?
