All i want is a file where I can type in login/password and it edites the correct places in these three files, so when i am to make a DVD for my friend or anything, it is an easy job to change the username value of the three files

Can i drop the Dir= part? Now let's say the unattend DVD I have is installing on D:\ ALL other on my DVD will adapt and work fine on any drive, although this file will mess up and install on C:\. When i change Windows username, I need to alter a few files. I set what username to be created during windows install in the following files winnt.sif (Line 28) Autologon.cmd Autologon.reg I need help making a batch file that asks me "Dear Lord, please type username" I type username and it alters those tree files where it should alter username. Just to quick'en up the process of changing username on my unattend DVD Possible to do so easY?

Okey I did a test install now (virtual PC) without any apps... It worked... gina.dll is not loaded in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] and userimage appears on start-menu. I don't quite understand what app could be causing this problem. any ideas? I tried to manually remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon "ginadll"="gina.dll" and it worked! Now I would like to know how to remove this in a .reg, and also what is causing this to appear. might it be my autologon.reg/.cmd?

is there a %variable% for default user?

I don't get the welcome screen, or the screen where you can click user images to log-on, so I guess i am using the calssic logon (I would like the new type). In control panel I just tried to change method of log-in and switch user accounts. I got an error message. (in norwegian, so here is my translation). A recently installed program has deactivated the welcome screen and quick user switch. If you would like to reactivate these features, you have to uninstall the program. No, that's what I do too. But when i put it there i put it in %UserProfile%\... and if I create another account on a later time, it will not show up for that user.

I am currently activating Quick Launch by running the following quicklaunch.reg at cmdlines.txt. (Windows XP Pro) This works to enable Quick Launch, but only IE and Show desktop link appears. WMP10 link missing. I fix this by simply copy a .lnk from CD from cleanup.cmd, but obviously this only applies for the current userprofile. It was just me beeing a complete id***. I called the cleanup.cmd at the end of the WPI script that deletes WPI.cm. DOH!

After install I get a INFCACHE.1 on %systemroot%. Can I safely delete this in cleanup.cmd?

Strange, cause it does'nt reboot nor kill audio. So it seems it does not run those two last commands....
