All installed! Yay! So there's four months of updates I should never have had.

So here are the Windows Server 2012 updates I have applied to my windows 8 Pro installation for May 2016: OS Updates: KB3155784, KB3153171, KB3153704, KB3153199, KB3156017, KB3156013, KB3156016 and KB3156019 IE 10 KB3154070 Adobe Flash Player KB3157993 .NET v3.5 -> KB3142025 (not applicable to my system) v4.5.2 -> KB3142032 v4.6x -> KB3142037 Let's reboot for the results.

I made the switch to Ashampoo Office 2010 (made by Softmaker). It has a conventional style interface, plus it's docx/xlsx compatible, and it has a handy PDF writer.

I can't find it on that link. The old one says it's downloading but it doesn't. Also, I take it that you've done something similar for Windows 2000? Is that right?

Has Blackwingcat removed this WindowsXP-KB2584577-v0.4-x86-ENU.exe file? It does not seem to download any more.

Well I removed IE 10 using the DSIM features command (similar to Add/Remove Features) I did install the Adobe Flash Player prior to that, and I still install the April IE10 and Flash updates. But now I just use the Firefox flash build being used on Pale Moon. I was really just saying that I didn't reinstall the February flash update.

Please Stefan, if you ever see other updates missing, let me know. A good eye you have there.

KB3134214 is not applicable to my system. Whadda ya know?

I cannot speak as to why I did not include those updates. I think I was forgetful or didn't look hard enough, to be honest. I installed all of them except the Adobe updates ... rebooting. (two of them did not require restarts)

So what does this "update" actually do? What does it change? Is there some comprehensive documentation somewhere? I didn't see any on the original site.

I wonder when the shoe drops for Windows Server 2003. I use the Vista/7 installer on it, and it's still works thankfully, but with the 4.4.304.0 build too.

No tweaks at all. Download the updates manually and install them. They are of the same codebase, and in fact, the files are listed as Windows8-RT-KBxxxxx.exe For Windows Vista, my hope is that Server 2008 classic updates will provide the same benefit past April 2017. There's one more year left.

If you go to the Windows 8 Forums at eightforums.com, I'm greeted with the chirping of crickets ...lol. It's expressly a Windows 8 forum, and you'd think something like this would interest somebody. Wow! I can't get over the disinterest there. So I have the following Server 2012 updates downloaded for April 2016: KB3154132 (for Adobe Flash Player) KB3148198 (for IE 10) KB3142043 (for .NET Framework v3.5) And the rest are security updates for the OS itself: KB3135456, KB3145739, KB3146706, KB3146723, KB3146963 and KB3149090 I'm applying these to Windows 8 Pro (Original). See you after the reboot with the results.

Hi zerbey. I think I saw you on the XP Forums talking to Elizabeth ...lol. But yes, no commercial XP distros were prepackaged with anything but IE 6.
