  1. In terms of compatibility between protection programs, I can confirm that Malwarebytes Premium v3.5.1 is not compatible with either Avast Premier 18.8 or Panda Dome 22.00.00. However, there should be no problems with Malwarebytes Free v3.5.1, as it does not have real-time protection.
  2. Numeronym! Precisely defined (just as we know you ) and mathematically interesting! I appreciate this kind of marginal note.
  3. Testing all these programs is always a bit problematic for me. I don't use VMs and always install the software to be tested in my real Windows XP partition. But that means only one at a time to rule out possible conflicts or incompatibilities. Therefore, it all takes much longer and is also a little more difficult. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  4. Off-topic: I got them from everywhere in the internet by using the Google search engine. I don't have concrete links for you at the moment though, but you will find them easily on different websites. Use "smileys animated" instead of "emojis" as your search string! However, I thought you are experienced in researching sources. End of off-topic!
  5. In terms of Protegent Antivirus, there is a review on Softpedia: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Protegent-Anti-Virus.shtml To be honest, I never heard of this program before, though. But it seems indeed to be XP-compatible and quite well known in India (and probably in other eastern countries). Anyway! Another option which has to be checked more deeply.
  6. Although I am actually not a friend of Google, I love to do many things by using a tablet. Apple is no choice to me for many reasons , so I am an Android user for many years. Searching the internet, researching and reading books or articles is the main intended purpose of my tablet. Many of my posts are written under Android and its most recent browsers. It's very comfortable and easy. As a respite from the Chrome or Chromium world, I then enjoy surfing with my UXP browsers under Windows XP.
  7. Yep, I think so too. I give every functioning antivirus or anti-malware program a chance without prejudice. Under Windows XP and Vista, we can no longer be so choosy for lack of alternatives. Subjective sensitivities must be left aside. I had already read that Vir.IT eXplorer Lite is actually very resource-saving and lightweight. Good to hear it's true. I will definitely try it out soon.
  8. Hello @feodor2! Great to hear development is ongoing especially in terms of the JavaScript engine! Hope you are well despite all existing problems in our world In any case, I'm already very excited about a new release from Mypal 68. Best wishes and greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper
  9. I use Windows 7 or Android if Windows XP fails. To be honest, I do many things on my tablet under Android. I am a fan of UXP browsers for years. I use mainly New Moon 28, Serpent 52 and Serpent 55.
  10. Dear @AstroSkipper, why did you ignore this question? I asked it to ensure if I understood correctly what you said or not. Please respond. Thank you. That comment was actually not meant for you. And a member here will probably decide for himself whether certain contributions require a statement or not. BTW, I never try to say anything, but I say it as clearly as possible, in most cases even crystal clearly. Regarding your reply I didn't say it doesn't matter to me generally, but in most cases it doesn't matter completely to the companies where I am or was a customer. And that has already been the case for a long time, unfortunately. It used to be different, but you can't understand that because of your age. Apart from that, this is all completely off-topic again. We want to move on here. Content that would serve the topic here would be much more important and appreciated.
  11. I'm afraid that files of bits and bytes vehemently and tirelessly defy Lavoisier's law. Besides, since when did everything become smaller in this day and age?
  12. You're welcome! As @Vistapocalypse already said, this matter was already discussed in the thread "POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU". All Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities depend massively on the CPU architecture of the computer that is to be protected. I would recommend reading the comments there and getting more information on the internet.
  13. No problem here when shopping on Amazon in my browsers under Windows XP, and have been for years. Without @roytam1 this would probably no longer be possible. Windows XP is my main OS, and I do all there, as far as possible, of course.
  14. You did not provide any detailed information what you are looking for. What about KB numbers? I assume you are looking for these two updates: KB4056615 and KB4056941. Use the Windows Update Catalog! I found them, but the German language versions, though. Logically! I am located in Germany. You will be offered the English ones in your country.
  15. Nicely worded! And, did you already test Vir.IT eXplorer? I am interested in your results.
  16. FYI, the homepage of WiseVector StopX https://www.wisevector.com/en/ does not exist anymore. So they definitely got serious and discontinued this product. I will now completely remove my deactivated installation.
  17. You're absolutely right! What is to happen will happen anyway. There's nothing we can do about it anyway. And we don't want to make it worse, do we? Time to move on in this thread.
  18. Yep, this thread has grown a bit. Unfortunately, there are many repetitions. But not learning very much always means that a few things were there, right? You're welcome! Qihu 360 Total Security Essential 8.8.0.1119 is indeed a new option and not that bad. I do not have any problems using Chinese programs. In China, Windows XP is still quite present. Therefore, one must also increasingly expect Chinese software and be glad that there are still countries that develop programs for our old operating systems.
  19. That seems to be the norm these days. I'm not particularly squeamish and I can handle it well. The hard school of life! Being an old customer no longer means anything. Only the new customer counts until he/she/it has bought, then you are an old customer again. That was definitely different in the past.
  20. FYI, the definition updates are usually distributed several times a day. Therefore, the version changes continously. The last time I checked, two hours ago, it was 1.0.29440.
  21. Thanks! But which loss do you mean? There is personally no serious loss. If Malwarebytes really stops rolling out fresh definition updates, the current state will be good enough for a while. Of course, no new definition updates would be a great pity and another setback for all users on Windows XP and Vista. But my license is also valid for the most recent 4.5.25 or upcoming versions, i.e. versions targeting Windows 7 or 10. It's a lifetime license, whatever lifetime means, of course especially according to the recent experiences made.
  22. You're right! Now that you've pointed it out, I see it too. Ransomware protection is activated, and this is actually not possible natively under Windows XP and Vista. Good watch out!
  23. My question on Malwarebytes' forum: AdvancedSetup's direct reply: Maybe, this Root Admin is not able to answer a question accordingly and correctly. It is possible he always gives the same reply "support of version 3.5.1 will end soon". Whatever support he is referring to. I can't really assess his skills. Seems to me more of a robot.
  24. My Windows XP machine works perfectly. There is nothing to give up. If Malwarebytes stops providing definition updates for their version 3.5.1.2522, I have enough other options which of course are not comparable to those in Windows 7 and up. But my options are sufficient for the foreseeable future. And I will share the knowledge about these options here, of course.
  25. I usually consider such discussion as useless, too. But I am really an old customer of Malwarebytes and I don't have to put up with such insolence. In their forum, the moderators only allow answers or questions that conform to their views, including the thread title. You can't edit it and you can't edit your own posts either. A true junk forum. You're absolutely right! We have to and we will help each other as usual.
