  1. Its Norton Ghost for me!
  2. In folder options, use "Show common tasks in Folders" instead of "Use Windows Classic folders". If that's already done, and you still don't get a large green X, then judging by the screenshot, it probably only applies to the Control Panel.
  3. We risk blocking most of the AT&T/Comcast subscribers by doing that
  4. It's called ACPI (if I remember correctly). I've never had any issues with it before, but have a look in your ACPI section in the BIOS for anything unusual, and have a look in the Power Options via Control Panel in Windows as well.
  5. I had the same exact error when I was using the new MySQL 4.0 when installing IPB 1.1. But you seem to be getting it on 3.x as well... Is MySQL 4.0 completely removed, including the services? It's probably trying to connect to that.
  6. There is no System Restore in Windows Server 2003, and will never have that feature. Either get Norton Ghost/Powerquest DriveImage, or go back to XP
  7. The title suits him don't you think?
  8. Kelly's XP Corner has the most reghacks I've ever seen, takes a while to browse through all of them! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
  9. What pic?
  10. Now I'm looking forward to it!
  11. Welcome to MSFN dutchwall. Feel free to add a BetaResource.net link in your signature, it's allowed on MSFN
  12. Yeah, in the past I've had 2 PCs custom built by small companies (not big ones like Dell, or Gateway who make a bad job of it and bundle crap system restore CDs). But next month I'll be building a PC of my own and I'm kinda nervous (always am when dealing with expensive hardware!) But then, the experience will be good!
  13. hmmm if that's so then what's Dual DDR supposed to do? Google was a bit useless for this kind of question
  14. This Abit Canterwood mobo I'm getting supports Dual DDR, so if I bought 2x 512MB DDR400 Memory sticks, that would make it 1GB 800MHz? or 512MB 800MHz? or 1GB 400MHz? (lol)
  15. So what if I was to buy an Intel P4 3.06GHz with 800MHz FSB? There's no DDR Modules that run at 800MHz yet, far from it. :/

    Help!

Paul's WinSuperSite has made a couple of previews on the Longhorn Alphas, with lots of screenies. http://www.winsupersite.com
  17. AutoPartition=0 it will prompt you for the size of the partitions. Repartition=No will prompt you for which Filesystem to use. You cannot automatically use FAT32 just NTFS. UnattendSwitch="yes" Will avoid the "lets spend a few moments setting up your computer" WaitForReboot="No" This will not prompt the 15 second before rebooting. So, by setting AutoPartition at 0 and Repartition at No, you will be prompted for choosing a partition to install to, and the filesystem you want. Although, I've discovered that this will only prompt you when you first delete the partition and then recreate it. This shouldn't be a problem since the partition size will remain the same, and you're doing a clean install. Other partitions that exist on your system (i.e. for backup purposes) won't be affected in any way.
  18. yes
  19. Have you checked the ref.chm file in the deploy.cab file on the Windows Server 2003 CD? Many references to such commands can be found in there.
  20. www.passport.com <-- from there you can register your ISP email address, and be able to use any address to sign in to MSN's Messenger services, or any .NET Passport enabled site, such as ebay.
  21. You can obtain a product key by signing up for the beta: http://www.symantec.com/public_beta/
  22. Got an 800MHz Intel P3, AMD Athlon 1.4GHz, no case fans in either machine and no problems with the processor's temps. My next machine is going to be an Intel P4 though, the thermal sensor on the processor impressed me as it underclocks the MHz if it gets too hot. Should last for a long time
  23. Winamp for the MP3s Media Player Classic for the movies
  24. you do lol a lot don't you, even when your post isn't even remotely funny.
  25. Download the correct version for the Operating System you're using. Different Messenger 6.0 packages contain specific Windows Installer files. Or, get the package that has all of them, and will install the Windows Installer service to your OS: http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/a...32e9e/SETUP.exe By the way, your topic title isn't very descriptive. Please use a more appropiate topic title in future so other members can easily choose a thread they can answer to.
