  1. Actually i changed my mind, originally i disliked the tray icon, but your right its very useful, especially for toggling subtitles. Also I install them in the same order, but i doubt it would matter unless they shared certain files. The reason i repacked it and used the %ProgramFiles% variable was that i changed the default location in winnt.sif to D:Program Files, so it may present a problem in that situation. Thanks Again
  2. Hmm Ive been using SOF for a while, and noticed a problem. When i install firefox during windows setup it doesnt install the profile correctly. Can SOF be packed with a default profile so when i create new users they all have the custom profile?
  3. why do you have both nod32 and norton antivirus? The latter is crap and is probably conflicting with the other anti-virus causing the pc to crawl. thats my guess. please try uninstalling norton.
  4. thats what i thought, ill just stick with 1.1 SP1 for a while then.
  5. thanks for the information Fredledingue, im also cautious using both programs but they have some really unique tweaks.
  6. Thanks Ðrзω™ I really like this set! BTW I found it on deviantART + a ContrastBlack Set! Which I am using now! http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/7469696/ Also here is a uA CursorPack by me! It silently installs the cursors from the Anti-Aliased Cursors 1.5 Shado, Fedora, Fedora Inverse, Contrast White, Contrast Black, and OSX4XP sets. (UPDATED DEC 13, 2005) WinRAR SFX (312kb) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=433864 BTW if you want to set the default cursor in your uA CD, just create/save your theme and call it in winnt.sif.
  7. so with this we have no reason to use Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 right? Or do we need to install both?
  8. FFDshow msvc builds by celtic_druid. Add to that CoRoNe's DirectShow FilterPack, Quicktime / Real Alternative, and Media Player Classic. Thats all you need! B) and i dont want to hear VLC!

  11. ok i added a note about the broken link in my above post, and linked directly to the file. The OSX4XP cursors didnt come with an INF installer, I shall make one. The Fedora cursors do come with an INF file to install from, sorry for the confusion. BTW has anyone found a link to the Contrast White set shown above? please post!
  12. Ok ive also edited the package a little to be more convenient for my purposes. In install.bat i removed the PAUSE at the second to last line so it doesnt wait for the user to hit a key. Also i repacked it as a silent SFX using WinRAR, so it extracts to the %ProgramFiles% folder and runs install.bat immediately afterwards. ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Path=%ProgramFiles%\DirectShow FilterPack SavePath Setup=install_all.bat Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Just FYI in case anyone out there looking to do the same. Good work CoRoNe this is a very useful pack! Next thing i need to find is the reg key to hide the FFDshow icons in the tray. FFDshow installs silently using setup.exe /S btw.
  13. thanks for the news this is a good program. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AveDesk
  14. wow huge changelog! thanks bashrat, this is the greatest project on msfn. will be testing on some systems this weekend...
  15. meh, its kinda expensive for a steel case without a power supply. I like aluminum, 120mm fans, and no power supply (prefer to choose a good one).
  16. well said alsiladka, for starters some of the cursors people are using require installing cursorxp (freeware) to work. the two cursor styles i posted dont need a special program to work. You just right click on the inf and select install, which copies them to the windows cursor folder and lets you select them from the control panel. While we're on topic, how does one change the default cursors in xp unattended?
  17. why would i want to install this on my pc?
  18. Another good set is the OSX4XP New Alphablended Os X Cursor Set In Xp Format!, No Need to use Cursor XP for this set. http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=53960 download link is broken need to go to last page of thread to get new mirror. direct download: http://w00t.co.uk/files/OSX4XP.zip here is the contents of Install.inf for OSX4XP: ; OSX4XP ; Win 9x/NT Cursor Scheme installation file. 19. I like these Fedora Cursors: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...l=fedora+cursor Preview: Could the other people please post links to those cursors? id like to try those out as well.
  20. Right i think everyone's been using the 'almost-silent' way for a while. I know their enterprise software Checkpoint Integrity Desktop has more switches, its possible some of these may work with ZA. You can get the manual for that here: http://rapidshare.de/files/6738123/DesktopGuide.pdf.html Look at Chapter 4 "Installation Command Lines". As for creating the config.xml you open ZA go to Overview>Preferences>Backup to export that. http://uawiki.org/doku.php?id=silent_apps:..._security_suite
  21. to make a long story short i looked into this a while ago. I own a Dell Axim x3i with Windows Mobile 2003, Dell and MS will not release an update for the pdas, they want you to buy another pda. the only way to 'upgrade' it is with a stolen rom i think and its in chinese and for a different pda, so the answer is no. lol I dont need Windows Mobile 2005 anyway, hardly any significant changes.
  22. I didnt say or believe he downloaded it, it did cross my mind, but then why would he be bothering with Encarta 2005? 2006 is out! lol I reccomend the DVD Burner or just mounting the image with Daemon Tools, I dont think he will be able to split the image across several cds successfully. Its just not worth the time considering how cheap dvd burners are now.
  23. The Firefox extension I reffered to earlier (sorry it has taken soo long) is BlockXXX. http://singlepointnetworks.com/ffext/blockxxx/ https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=226 I have tried a couple of 'solutions' including Cyberpatrol, ContentProtect, and ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Out of these three, ZA is the most effective, and considering it includes anti-virus and a really good firewall is also the best deal. You can filter web sites according to 35 categories, and the database updates constantly, you dont download whitelists, it just filters on the fly. And perhaps most importantly you can tell ZoneAlarm to block any pages that havent been added to the database / categorized. PS I dont work for them never had any connection to their company, its just that this seems to be the only program that actually works. B) Furthermore you can find a few routers with built n parental controls: Linksys WRT54GS (Netopia) ZyXEL HS-100w (Cerberian) and some Belkin routers.
  24. OK i decided id share my custom silent firefox installer. its made using the SOF tool here. This is a silent installer it needs no switches. DOWNLOAD HERE (5.96MB): http://rapidshare.de/files/6723331/firefoxsilent.exe.html It has only the default theme; bookmarks have been cleaned up. A couple changes to settings plus the following extensions: Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.5 AdBlock Plus 0.5.10 All-In-One Sidebar 0.5.6 CuteMenus 0.4 NoScript 1.1.3.3 Tab Mix Plus 0.2.5.2 If you try it please let me know how you like it, if its helpful, and/or if you would like anything added
  25. such a funny thread. why not go buy a dvd burner, they're cheap. $38 w/ Free Three Day Shipping NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827152047
