Hi, I have a dual boot. On one Hardrive Xp is installed and on another windows 7. It work fine, but If I use my Acronis True image restore CD to restore XP, it break my windows 7 installation. I was able to fix it withe the windows 7 repair cd. How can I prevent this from happening next time ? Maybye this issue is related to the mbr of the first drive ?

@Raystr you are wrong, an .iso file with the winrar icons is still an iso file ! It's just that winrar will associate itself by default with the .iso.

This is not the case with ccleaner, it's not a miracle software like many stupid shareware that promise to boost you perfomance. Ccleaner is really good, but it wont to miracle on a a computer. Also, it will allow you to backup your registry before cleaning. But I did not had any problem with the registry cleaning and I use it since years.

Fixed, I have update my gpu drivers and now it's ok.

Wich version do you use ? because with 2003 you can edit a registry entry to do that without any 3rd party software.

Hi I want to install Vista for the first time but withou leaving my XP. I had a dual boot but when I restore my XP image with acronis true image it broke my dual boot. The boot screen with the Vista choice is gone. My xp is install on an primary and active C: partition and Vista was on an primary and active partition (on a other physical drive) G: I have read about the mbr and the Vista BCD, but I am confuse How can I sucessfully backup the 2 OS without broking my multiboot ?

if you need Windows Live-ID, then is not good. Also, Teamviewer is portable, you dont need no installation.

Teamviewer is good,because you wont have firewall/port problem since it use a website to route traffic.

Those topics are newbie complaints. I prefer to remove indexing services and system restore, this way by default there are not installed and I dont need to stop them and remove theirs artefacts. But, this is good for me, not everyone. If RamGuy want to build a gaming machine, he could do a specialised install.

I disagree, Indexing service should be removed.

remove indexing service it will speed up XP, also if you can use a third party backup application, remove system restore. You could reduce xp to about 200 meg iso...

You are using nlite in a emulator on OS X !? I am not sure, give more details.
