Wait, is this the external solution? Check the TESLA from nVidia .

ASUS comes with a motherboard with onboard RAM

I wonder why you say that the design isn´t good, any good reason for it? Only design from them that wan´t good was the A7V; problems with the USB bus. -

Well, the memory doesn´t die that fast, not even when you OC it to the max. with the ASUS software/hardware settings. But ASUS gives normaly 3 years on there products, so does iNTEL on there CPUs (boxed versions). In Europe you got 2 years on consumer electronics any way, and the law in holland is protecting consumers well. More woried about the RAM that isn´t be upgradeable... Looks are indeed okay with those nice coper ribs . -
ASUS comes with a motherboard with onboard RAM

Well, the board is like 250 US$ online, 2GB RAM is like 70 US$ for DDR2 and for 210 US$ you have DDR3. I still think that people who buy highend motherboards will stay with non-onboard RAM, even if they sell the combo for 350 US$... -
My providers... EDIT: Newegg has the HD 2400pro now in stock for 70 US$, there is a non-silent one for 60 US$.
-
Alright, got the prices on the 2400/2600 here: US$ 70.80 for the HD 2400Pro 256MB GDDR2 US$ 115.64 for the HD 2600Pro 256MB GDDR2 US$ 123.90 for the HD 2600Pro 512MB GDDR2 US$ 174.64 for the HD 2600XT 256MB GDDR3 So no prices on the GDDR4 versions . In general Newegg is about 10-20% cheaper, but what can you expect when you are in Mexico . They will be here in one and a half weeks.

ASUS wants to be the first with onboard DDR3 RAM. Don´t know what to think about it but I would see what you guys and girls think about it . General specs are: - Intel LGA775 Platform - Intel® P35 chipset - Intel® Core™2 Quad / Core™2 Extreme / Core™2 Duo / Pentium® Extreme / Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 Processors - Onboard memory, 2GB, DDR3 1333MHz - Onboard memory feature Guaranteed to overclock above DDR3 1500 - Pure Copper Heat Pipe - 6*SATA/2*SATA on the Go/ 1394a - Dual Gigabit LAN Link to the P5K3 Premium/WiFi-AP.
-
Don´t think so . Even there is a iNTEL version of the n590SLI. But the 590 made way for the 680, that´s something for sure but the 590 is not discontinued.

Well, the onboard ATi X1250 will perform even better then a low-end PCI-E ATi X1050 fo example. The mobo I showed you even has HDMI and DVI onboard, something you would only see before on the more expensive motherboards with nVidia 6150/430 (not the HDMI). HDMI you will see now on the new AMD/ATi 2X00xx cards. You can always try the onboard VGA, and if you don´t like it you can buy a PCI-E video later. What exactly makes you paranoia? It´s the unknown? Just ask me any thing you like about the diferences and I will try to answer it well .

One sec there, the Celeron 2 600 runs at 1.65/1.70volt. I used a Thermaltake Super-Orb with the topfan removed. The motherboard I used was a ASUS CUBX. The CPU was OCed to 1130MHz. The case was always open at that time. Running SETI@home 24/7. I used those Alpha fans too, the black label ones. I had 2 of them running at 7200-7300 on my Athlon 600 setup to get it to 950MHz-1GHZ The Tualatin worked at 1.475V, so 10-15% more juice will not do any thing realy bad to that CPU. The only problem you could have was that the Gunning Transceiver Logic (GTL) bus, which operates at 1.25V in comparison to the 1.5V signal levels of GTL+, could not be handled on all motherboards. I used the ASUS CU4X and the CUBX and it always worked for me.

I sense some sarcasme here

I sold a lot of motherboards with nVidia 6000/6150 (400/405/410/430) chipsets and people were realy happy with them, but now, after almost 1 year and some months we desided to switch to the AMD 690G chipset b/c most mobos have DVI, something you will just find on some nVidia 6150 mobos. You are right, unless you don´t need SLI, there is no use to buy an other motherboard. I would if it was SiS or VIA .

Alpaca Portrait Ripken already told you some info but: 1 It can share the RAM up to 1GB (to much, I know) depending on the BIOS settings, but 256MB seems to be the best setting. 3 This board has a full x16 PCI-E bus so you can drop in any card you like later. Don´t you wory about the RAM, if you buy normal 1.8volt DDR DIMMS you are safe. You don´t OC so no need to look for expensive RAM. The 2 links I gave you work perfectly with the board, tested it my self here as I sell the board and the RAM together. You can use your old tower, no need for a 24 pin powersupply, it works fine with 20 pins as well. Anandtech has a nice review on the chipset, so knock your self out and read that if you like (I did ). EDIT: oldwolf is using a 6100/430 nVidia chipset, runs good, but the AMD 690G runs games for example better, like 30%.

If you bought the part together then take it back to the shop I would say...

Yup, a typo... It´s Watts and not FPS...

Good, got the point. As far as I can see you can use onboard VGA. So I thought about a ASUS M2A-VM HDMI Socket AM2 AMD 690G motherboard. As you can see it even has DVI and HDMI. Looks like onboard sound will be okay to start with, all are 6 or 8 channels now. There are 2 PCI slots that you can use for an add-on soundcard if you don´t like the onboard one. It has PATA connector so you can still use your "old" optical drives as well . It also has onboard LAN 10/100/1000Mbps and FireWire, so you can connect you, if DV or so, camera directly to it. EDIT: The Case: COOLER MASTER Centurion 541 RC-541-SKN1 Black Just take a look at that one, it comes without a PSU so you make your own choice on that. This case is small but well made. A lot smaller then the Antec Lanboy for example. The only bad thing is that some versions have a FireWire connector in frond and some don´t. The RAM: 2 of A-DATA Value Series 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) would do fine. Selling them to here, people are pleased with them and there are almost no returns (1 out of 130 in 1 year). If you don´t know the brand you can take a look at the Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400). I would buy 2 of 1GB, now there are still cheap but prices are going up again.

I thought I drop in... You say a solid beep, that´s the CPU error. If you have a second CPU, replace the "bad" CPU and see what it does. If it doesn´t work try an other PSU. If that doesn´t work your Mobo is probebly "bad". If that wasn´t the problem, then I should be ashamed of my self .
-
The CPU you choose is one of my favorites at this moments. It works on every AM2 motherboard as far as I know. And you are right, the BIOS needs to be updated sometimes to see the right model, some motherboard will give you a message like "Unknown CPU detected working on X.XGHz". @ nmX.Memnoch, Voltage wasn´t the problem there, it was the pin lay-out that wasn´t 100% (g37 and g35 needed to be bridged) compatible altrough it was Socket370. Sure you normaly needed to lower the voltage but without doing it you could OC a bit more . Those babys ran faster then the first PIV . @ ripken, you´r right, the man is scaring people with his post...

4x / 16x, don´t think you will get a lot out of it dude .
