However, as I was able to connect to it without using my wireless stick or the wired DSL, is it possible that I subscribe to it and use it from anywhere? I mean can it also be used for roaming purpose, without having to carry that pathetic TATA (Epivalley's) USB MODEM? Hi, Using a WLAN 8.something, I found some networks wherein one was an unsecured one. Out of curiosity, I clicked on connect and it connected me to the network, whereby i was able to access the internet. Using that network means paying nothing to anyone. However, I was wondering why would any network be unsecured and why will it be open to everyone? Is it any kind of trap to trace my computer activities? The network name is Broadcom and it appears alongwith UTStarcom (secured, login required) in my wireless connections. Please let me know your thoughts on this. If everything is set to correct under both keyb and regional languages in control panel, I would suggest that you should check out the accessibility options in the control panel - under the accessibility icon, especially Filter Keys. Hi All, This has reference to my wireless dialup modem stick. It is from Epivalley, sold by an Indian company, TATA INDICOM. Even after reading several negative reviews about the product, I buyed it due to the network presence it offers. However, the speed is frustrating and the only thing I can see on their website is SPEED+ being offered for FREE with the modem software. I was wondering if such things really wok. If so, there are plenty of software that also claim to increase the speed by 5 to 10 times. It is a different matter that when I tried using SPEED+, it would never connect to the server. I did not contact the support as I have lost my confidence in them and am considering replacing the whole thing with another ISP. Still, the doubt is there. Please check your language and keyboard settings under "Regional and Language Settings" in control Panel. The option is in the second tab, Languages". Click on details to see if the settings are set to US or UK. If not, change it. If the above is okay, Click on the Advanced Tab and Turn off the Advanced Text Services. Hi All, It was fine until I selected the option "do not cache thumbnails" in the Windows Explorer. Usually, it should show the thumbnail with some delay but nothing appeared. Later when I unchecked the option, still there is no thumbnail view, nor is the Preview option under the context menu (right click) is working. There is no error message. I cannot find thumbs.db file too. I tried to locate info on Windows site but there is nothing given for the 32 bit Windows XP SP3 version. Can anyone help? I cannot perform a system restore as I will lose many changes that I did to my system after that event. And yes, I tried clicking on Reset All Folders option under Tools Menu --> Options. I do not know the version you are speaking about. I have 6.6.1.1 that I use only when need arises to create a video CD or DVD. Considering more than 10 years of only computers, I still find it very hard to use the program... especially when creating a multisession data disc! Most of the times, it finalizes the disc even if I create a multisession. Sometimes, it wont show the existing files... For all my CD writing purposes, I use the Windows Wizard explained above as you can finalize/close the CD or keep your options open to add more data later. Hi, Normally when we login into any site, we can stay acess the site without logging in for a min of three days. However I am facing a problem with google. While all the other sites retain the login information, I see that both the Google Toolbar as well as all other services related to Google log me out, ie, I have to enter the Login details everytime I need to acess any of the services of Google. I checked the cookies and found cookies relating to Google in the cookie list. Even then, I find myself logging in frequently. Please note that this does not happen with other sites. I can simply access the other sites without having to enter the ID and password. Can you please tell me why this is happening and what are the possible solutions? Hi, If the people are using operating systems Windows XP or above, the simplest way to burn CDs is to right click and from the contect menu, click on Send To. From the Cascading Menu, you can select the CD Drive (it will be reflected by the icon of a CD Drive). Once this is done, you will get a balloon at the system tray saying that the files are ready to be burnt. Clicking on that balloon will open up the Window related to the CD Drive. It will show the images of files that are ready to be burnt to the CD. On the left hand side of the Window, you can find a link that says "Burn These Files Now". As you click on the link, a Wizard will appear that will ask you to insert a blank CD and also for the CD name. Rest of the process is completed automatically burnt by the Windows Wizard. This is the best method when you are speaking of files of any kind that can viewed back on computer only. This process will not create any Audio CD, VCD, or DVD that can be played in a CD/DVD player, except for a collection of MP3 songs. Hope this helps. -- Best Regards, Arun Kumar M. Hi All, I installed Windows XP Service Pack 2. Later upgraded to SP3. I want to change my user profile picture but am not able to. It provides the option to browse and select. However, as soon as I click on the "Change Picture Button", it gives an alert saying "Automation Server Cannot Create Object". I do not know what it means. I checked GPEDIT etc and found no restrictions whatsoever. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. Hi, This is to inform you all that it was a mistake on my part. I use several programs to keep my system safe and maintained. Most of these programs contain startup items too. It occured to me and I checked all the startup sections of these programs to find that I had turned off auto startup in OneCare. I removed it and now the problem has been rectified. However, what I could not understand is that when others had it turned "ON", why did turning it off in a single program (that too, accidently) stopped it from loading. Secondly, when I manually added it to startup, why were two instances running while there were none when I removed it from the starup menu? Sounds strange to me. Hi All, IOBit's Smart Defrag is a great product that auto defrags your computer while you are working on it. The best thing is that you can work without compensentating on the speed while you are defragmenting. Lately, I have been facing this problem with the software. I noticed that the software is not starting with Windows. I checked Task Manager to confirm this and found that the exe is not listed there. Though I have written this to the Support of IOBit, I am not sure of reply as FREE products do not get replies usually. To counter the problem, I have added it to my Startup Folder for the time being. However, as the option "Run at Startup" is still selected, I was wondering whether it will cause any conflicts with any of the other startup programs. I considered unchecking the option "Run at Startup" but then will I loose the scans scheduled using the same menu? Please throw some light on this. As far as I feel, if I add it to Startup Menu and manually add it to the Windows Task Scheduler, it should do. However, I want to confirm the same before proceeding. Hi, I do not know much about the speed because i use COMODO system cleaner that cleans everything from registry to junk to temp and cookie files. However, considering the duplicate entries and entries that point somewhere else when you install, reinstall, or uninstall anything, I would recommend a good registry cleaner for everyone. The best ones I know are the COMODO system cleaner and the CCleaner. The first one has the option of backup and creating a restore point in case anything goes wrong. I have found many problems rectified after running a registry cleaner. However, before clicking straightaway on the clean now option in case you use CCleaner or any other registry cleaner such as Registry Booster, make sure you create a system restore point. In short, I feel at ease when I know that my registry is less clutterred with reduced number of incorrect pointers or null entries. Such keys can make some of your applications go crazy. Hence I run the registry cleaner whenever I uninstall any product. PLEASE NOTE that no registry can clean up all the mess. I have tested this by running three registry cleaners in a row. After one showed a clean registry, the other one still showed other problems. CONCLUSION: Use something that can clean your registry aggressively and performs an in-depth scan. Recommended Registry Cleaner: COMODO system cleaner - as it also offers cleaning the system and to top it all, it is FREE. I am using it for more than a year to get many problems (related to abnormal application behavior) resolved.

However, if you are not able to install from the website as well, chances are that your computer is carrying Conficker. In the latter case, you can visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/962007 to get more info on the virus, its prevention, and removal using the MSRT tool. These days I have done the same on many of my clients' computers to get the windows update and many other important services running back. Hi All, I modifed my website to include general things so as to retain visitors. Though the RSS feeds serve the purpose, when I give links to pages containing streaming audio/video or downloads. The is some way whereby one can allow the page to play the links without users navigating to the link. For example radiostationindia.com or in.com has a number of radio stations that are not hosted by the sites. But still one can listen to the music without navigating away from the page. Hi, There is an option in the file menu of Adobe Acrobat Professional to create a multiple page PDF. First of all, scan all your documents into different files, whatever format (generally Jpeg). Then open the Adobe Acrobat Pro. Open the File Menu, click on CREATE PDF and then select FROM MULTIPLE FILES. This will give you a window with BROWSE button. Use the button to naviagatee to the folder where your scans are placed. You can select the multiple files using CTRL or SHIFT key. Once selected, you can also arrange them using the Move Up and Move Down buttons. After arranging the files as per your wish, click OK. The Acrobat will ask you for a filename. Enter the filename, hit enter and the Adobe Acrobat will create a multi-page PDF for you. This is what the OneCare Support has to say: This is a normal behavior since the Operating System cannot start all the services and drivers at the same time. If the Windows Security Center service starts before OneCare, we may receive this warning message. I suggest we configure the dependency service to workaround this issue: Configure OneCare services as dependency service of WSC service: ================================= 1. Click Start, click Run, type “regedit” (without quotations), click OK. 2. Expand HKEY_Local_Machine, expand System, expand CurrentControlSet, expand Services, highlight "wscsvc" 3. Locate the right panel, look for DependOnService, double click it and add the following services below the other two services: msfwsvc OneCareMP OcHealthMon winss Please restart the computer and check the result.
