  1. How do I find out that? The ISP gave me 256kbps speed but i do not know how much is upload speed. Can you help please? Thanks. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Monday, March 09, 2009, 1:40:35 AM IST
  2. Hi, For small file transfers, i found it easy. Now I intend to backup my HDD to an online storage and for a single logical drive of 15GB, it took the entire day. Is there any FTP software that is more easy than the Filezilla that is as stable as Filezilla? Please let me know. Thanks a lot. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Monday, March 09, 2009, 12:30:36 AM IST
  3. Thanks, this means that i submit the new one to Google and remove old one from the dashboard. This I did. As you said, if I do not mention the old one anywheere, it will be replaced by its own... I got the point.. It works just like google cache. Thanks again, -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Sunday, March 08, 2009, 12:22:10 PM IST
  4. Hi, I created a small site on 110mb, which was a subdomain of 110mb i guess (dreamskape-content.110mb.com) . It was submitted to the Google alongwith sitemap. Now I have an own URL (dreams-central.com) with GoDaddy which refers to the 110mb site. How do I make Google look for the new one? Do I need to change host (110mb is free with no ads nothing). Changing host will cost me extra. I want to host on the same but do not want google to parse the 110mb URL. Instead, I want it to check out the new one I created. How do I do that? Can I simply remove the 110MB URL from Google Daashboard and add the dreams-central to the Dashboard. But all the material is on the other URL. Am a bit confused. Please help. Thanks. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Saturday, March 07, 2009, 8:32:23 AM IST
  5. By the way, when I was searching the Internet, I found that once unlocked, i can use other CDMA SIM can also be used with the MODEM. Can this be the reason that they are not revealing the code on phone?
  6. Hi, I have a SIT_1x_usbMODEM that is locked by service provider because i uninstalled and reinstalled the MODEM while removing the NEW SIM too many times. This led to the service Provider (TATA) to lock the Modem. No local shops have knowledge about the USB MODEM in the "IT City of Hyderabad". They call the city, an IT HUB. But they cannot rectify a small problem with the USB MODEM. Most of them cant even recognize it and say that it is PEN DRIVE until I show them the SIM. If I can get the unlock code, I can use it through AT command to use the MODEM. The MODEM is CDMA based and uses Qualcomm Technology drivers and there is no such thing that only the SIM provided with the device is to be used. I have asked the call center to give me the unlock code but they wont. They want me to come over to their service center. But I cant leave my one man business pursuing them. I spent 2600INR on it and then 300 on the SIM. Now I am repenting. I could have put some extra money and got a GPRS phone and use the hack my friends use to access the internet for free! But I go by rules. Anybody having idea about this, please help me. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Thursday, March 05, 2009, 10:16:20 PM IST
  7. No, USB FLASH did not work. I guess the only option is the altered CD of Windows XP. I will try it as soon as I am free. but I cannot understand while Windows XP has so many updates, why could they not create one for SATA like a SP4 especially for SATA. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Monday, March 02, 2009, 8:58:08 PM IST
  8. Hi All, Thanks to all those who tried to help me. I got the correct directions and followed the path to reach the exact point that solved all my queries. The sitemap format that most of the Search Engines follows is given at http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php The sitemap can be created in any format. However the best is XML format. Do not use any HTML editing software to create as they add their own code towards the begingin of your sitemap that makes Google show error with the sitemap file. The best method is to open Notepad, write your code as per the specifications and examples in the above site and save it as sitemap.xml. Then using the Google Webmaster Dashboard, submit it to Google. And yes, prior to that please upload the sitemap to the root directory or to the directory where your main file lies (whose URLs have been mentioned in the sitemap file). It was all so simple... So i thought I should share my newly acquired knowledge with everyone here. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Saturday, February 28, 2009, 1:20:10 PM IST
  9. I forgot to mention, It says SIT-1x_usbmodem while auto detecting the software after installation of drivers.
  10. Hi, I have an old CDMA USB modem running on SXC-1080, protocol IS-2000 Rev 0-6. It was not in use for past many months due to the excess rates being charged for daytime usage by the TATA INDICOM (Indian CDMA Telecom Provider). The issue is that now i want to use it as a backup and when I installed it, I got the message MIN out of Range. Assuming it to be a Software Problem, I removed and installed the software several times, each time removing the SIM and checking with the older SIM that is slow. Now I get a message that says Phone Locked on the Dialer. I tried creating a manual connection but the server will not respond. I am in a fix as the technicians say that it has to be taken to the Service Center and Nobody in the household has that much time. My business hardly permits me a day off. Is there any method by which the CDMA modem can be reset. If I format it then I will have to install all the firmware which I am not sure about: Apart from SXC, it used Qualcomm's software too as I found when it was auto detecting the drivers. Or is there any other way? Please let me know. I downloaded the CDMA Workshop but could not make head and tail of it, especially the MIN. It says the 2st 3 digits should be area code and last seven digits should be the phone number. But in India, the mobile numbers themselves are 10 digits and the area code the Workshop is showing is something different from that of Hyderabad (where I live). Please help. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Saturday, February 28, 2009, 10:38:22 AM IST
  11. Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. I think it will be more beneficial to write to the webmasters and get the thing confirmed. But for google, I will have to check out the groups or is there any address wherein we can contact any of their representatives? But for all other sites, i can access them so I wiil be sending them mails right now and will notify others too as soon as I get the reply. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Monday, February 23, 2009, 1:40:09 PM IST
  12. Hi, Thanks for the links. They are extremely useful. However, one requires some knowledge of PHP before using the codes. But still the readme files have provided enough info so that even a layman can figure it out with a bit of concentration. It even has other ready mande codes for tracking Bot crawls etc. It is a great help. Meanwhile I found another site that provides the same: http://www.doheth.co.uk/codelair/php-mysql/hit-counter#basic This also has some good ready to use codes. Thanks again and have a gr8 weekend -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Sunday, February 22, 2009, 4:06:20 PM IST
  13. Hi, I want to know if there is way to keep track of visitors to any site without using one of those codes from other websites. I do not want to offer links to other sites and thats why I am not even using adsense as of now. I want the entire site to be crawled first. Is there any other way, like from Google Webmaster Page or any other similar site? -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Sunday, February 22, 2009, 9:41:30 AM IST
  14. Tons of thanks.. All of the answers were there... but still there is a small confusion. Do I just leave the sitemap in the directory or do I have to place a URL on the home page. Or is the option in webmasters dashboard, "Submit Sitemap" is sufficient?
  15. Hi, I created a small website, but the Google does not seem to go beyond the main page, at least not the one I want to be displayed in the results, the "Your Dreams" page. While on the webmaster site of Google, it provided much information but the technical language is beyoond my comprehension. can anyone tell in a simple way: 1. how to create a sitemap, 2. where to place it, 3. how to let google know that it is there, and 4. Do I need to provide any link from the home page to the sitemap. The website is http:/dreamskape-content.110mb.com It seems as the Google bots did not crawl other links on the pages as I could comprehend using the site command in Google. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Saturday, February 21, 2009, 11:27:39 AM IST
  16. -------------------- I am still facing the same problems. I checked the keep favorites in delete browsing history. I guess as you said the cookies expire. Does this mean that they do not refresh or overwrite the current cookie with login information when I log in again. I am on Google most of the day. I access Yahoo as well as some other sites like PZ10 and of course MSFN. Everytime I am just using the autotext to login, while IE promises to keep the logins, or it promises to keep only cookies that expire after 48 hours? Is there any workaround for this. Even in the external cleaner (I use CCleaner), I have expemted these cookies from being deleted but does not work for me. Any suggestions or workarounds! -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Saturday, February 21, 2009, 11:22:47 AM IST
  17. I got the answer. Just changed the height attribute to "exact" and gave the height of the image and used the option "<br>" instead of wrap. As of now, both height as well as width are in control. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Friday, February 13, 2009, 2:38:15 PM IST
  18. Actually, the processor is Intel Celeron at 1.6Ghz I guess.. And chipset is Intel 945GM Express chipset. I think I got the clue from your answer. I will try the intel site instead of hanging on to the HP site.. They must have some compatible SATA driver installation packages. BTW, is there any difference between SATA controllers and SATA drivers. I was able to install controllers using Add Hardware Wizard.. It accepted Compaq Tape something out of the 5 options for SATA controllers.. i guess it mentioned above. And if I get a combo installation pack of many SATA RAID drivers on any site, how do I recognize the one I need. Is there no way I can directly install it from my computer instead of that F6 method. The Floppy method wont work because there is no floppy drive in the laptop. So can I use anything else like a pen drive? If no, then I will use the integration method u mentioned here. Tomorrow and day after is OFF.. so I will return with a permanent answer for this by Monday... Meanwhile you all just relax. -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Friday, February 13, 2009, 2:30:55 PM IST
  19. Thanks for confirming the IE8 claim. However, I delete browsing history with the preserve favorites (the topmost option) checked. But still they get deleted. As I use google throughout the day, I do not like typing in the ID n password. So I created autotext for those even before the IE8 came. This seemed good news for me that IE8 would retain the data. But you say that there may be a bug. How to diagnose that? Meanwhile I will checkout the MS support once more as soon as I am free. Thanks again -- Regards, DreamSkape Signed: Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 12:57:10 AM IST
  20. Hi All, Most of you have already tried the IE beta as well as the released version. Though they were not able to remove connectivity problem as the IE 8 starts, it is not a big problem as you have to simply press the F5 button. The problem is that it says that it has the facility to keep the cookies related to the sites I frequently visit on to so that I do not have to type in the password and ID. It says to keep those cookies, I just need to add the site to MyFavorites Menu Tab. I did that. But still whenever, I clean the cookies (normally 2-3 times a day), it removes those cookies as well. I added them to the other option in Privacy Tab. But still it does not work. Any Ideas on how to keep the google cookies and other sites so that I do not have to provide login info again and again? Currently I am usig autotext to avoid typing in the whole passwords and IDs.. but that is just an alternate option.. I forgot to mention, in the privacy tab in advanced button, I have enabled automatic cookie overriding... I have set to accept the first party cookies directly while disallowing third party cookies. Can this be the problem or are the MS people lying about the feature?
  21. No, The chipset is Intel 945GM express. So was looking for compatible drivers. I searched the entire HP site. I tried contacting HP chat support again but could not. I will try again late night. Last time, they just kept me waiting. By the way, the device manager says "COMPAQ SCSI Tape Adaptor" under the "SATA controllers." I tried the update option for a "question mark" in the device manager and used all 5 listed compaq sata drivers. While 4 of could not be installed, this one got installed without any problem. Still when enable SATA in BIOS, it say some error has occured and keeps re-booting. So I had to disable it again. @majormashup: Yes, the BIOS has two mode for SATA namely ENABLE and DISABLE. Regards, Dreamskape.
  22. I downloaded the software and tried to install it but it says that the minimum system requirements are not met... BTW, thanks for trying. Regards, Dreamskape
  23. Hi All, I am posting the reply to a similar thread that i created that only I am facing, being new to the forum. But as the thread already exists, I am continuing the discussion here and will request the MODs to delete the other thread. In that thread, I got a link to download nForce SATA drivers and got to understand that the probelm is XP specific and not related to my laptop. The drivers are chipset specific as the one you referred in the above link is terminating the installation quoting incompatibility issues. However, I managed to find the drivers from the "UPDATE Drivers" option in Device manager. I installed them and turned SATA on in the BIOS. But the OS is restarting again and again saying that Xp encounteres a problem. Eventually I had to disable it. I also looked for SATA drivers for Intel 945GM Express Chipset throughout the HP site but seems they are not available. There was a tutorial though on how to locate the drivers on your laptop and help XP in recognizing it. It required an installation file for SATA drivers for the said chipset. The tutorial said that to help XP recognize the drivers, we need to run the XP installer again. And where it asks if we want to setup XP or a third party RAID dirver, we will select the latter option and use a CD that contains the SATA installation Pack. So that would solve the problem for the lucky ones who could find the installer package compatible with their chipsets. <p> But in my case, where else can I look for the installer pack of SATA for 945GM express chipset? Let me know if anyone has an Idea. -- Regards, DreamSkape

  25. I am having the same problem. I had to disable SATA before I could get XP installed on the laptop. But whenever I turn it on, the windows wont start until I disable it again. I did not know that the problem is common and the thread is already existing here... So i created a thread which was transferred to this forum by MODs.. but that was more on Compaq V6000 BIOS vs SATA. So how do I get my OS to use the functionalities of SATA?? The HP reps were not able to answer either.. they kept me on hold till I disconnected... In the other thread, a suggestion was given that i need to install SATA support from Command Prompt before installing XP or updating drivers in device Manager.. and they gave me a link for the software for my laptop. But I do not know how to proceed with the installation... Do I move to the folder using the DOS command (CD) and type the name of executable or do I need to do something else to run the softare in DOS mode? -- Regards, Arun Kumar
