Forget about wimfltr but WIndows Imaging Library is still needed that is wimgapi.dll. Still we need to use waik so why made confusion wimfltr not necessary. Also 7zip also can extract wim files but whan can u do with windows imaging as GIMAGEX also need wimgapi.dll to work.
Since Windows 7 beta released shows remarkable improvement over windows vista because IN win7 startup items are very less. Also the iso of Win 7 is much smaller than vista. May be some additional components missing that can be found in vista
If u r removing components its always better to apply and rebuild. Save changes only saves time but installation source grows bigger than original one.
Run command prompt c:\program files\vlite\vlite.exe /extreme Shows 4 More components Dot Net Framework, XPS viewer,Group policy and one i don,t remember that is about 43 mb in size

HI NUHI, I think u r on holidays till New Year. By the way best wishes to you on NEW YEAR. Can u please fullfill my little wish on NEW YEAR. Please seprate movie maker from DVD maker in your master peace vlite next release.
You can do a little thing. when u r editing the installation with vlite. then u can put that exe file in vitemp folder. found at user temp folder. Or u can use Vista Update Toolkit made by Legolash2O to integrate that exe. ANd last but not least method is reverse integration.
First thing u must clear that first u need to integrate all hotfixes & drivers through vlite. Then remove components. Also there is no way to integrate programs through WAIK. If there is a way let others know about it.
There is no possible way to edit windows vista recovery disc yet. also if there is such possible way activation procedure hide in windows recovery disc get lost as they use oem slp channel to activate.
Hey You have to download WAIK its necessary. you can use vlite to integrate service pack 1 and all drivers that is sound , display etc. Download vlite from www.vlite.net and your windows is sluggish because of low amount of ram. Use x64 with alest 4 GB ram. Enjoy
try to use vmvare in XP and install ur OS . now use vlite to integrate hotfixes. resulting install.wim can be copy through map network drive or using a pen drive.

A nice sugesstion. Copy wimgapi & wimfltr file to safe location. Every time u install vlite copy these files to vlite directory. These is no need to install massive WAIK.
yes it is possible to integrate sp1 into 64 bit vista under xp. try to use vista updates integrator. it integrates sp1 into windows vista. Not sure either it works under xp x86 or not but it works under xp x64
I think u don,t need the older version but you need waik files i.e wimgapi & wimfltr. You can download waik from microsoft & Vlite 1.2 works fine with either type of pc u have. If u like i can post u vlite 1.6 beta with waik files removed.
