1. Notepad2 2.1.19 released! Notepad2 is a light-weight, free and open source Notepad-like text editor with syntax highlighting for a few commonly used languages. It's based on the Scintilla source code editing component (http://www.scintilla.org) and works on NT-based versions of Windows. It's been a couple of years in coming but a newer version of the popular Notepad replacement has been released! New in Version 2.1.19 (released April 10, 2008) - "Line Comment" (Ctrl+Q) and "Stream Comment" (Ctrl+Shift+Q) - "Title Case" (Ctrl+Alt+T) and "Sentence Case" (Ctrl+Alt+S) - "Compress Whitespace" (Alt+P) command reduces spaces and tabs - Original Notepad .LOG feature - /f command line switch to set ini-file (/f0 to omit ini-file) - /p command line switch trumps sticky window position - /p0 uses system default settings for new window position - Move new off-screen windows prior to resizing - Option to skip Unicode text detection (File, Encoding, Default) - Reload file with different default encoding (Ctrl+F8, Shift+F8) - Unsaved documents with just whitespace considered empty - Improved handling of relative path names - File dialog filters can be specified in the Notepad2 ini-file - Type of indent guides can be specified in the Notepad2 ini-file - Track width of displayed text to adjust horizontal scroll range - Selected find results are better scrolled into view - Restore scrolling positions on revert - Ctrl+Back and Ctrl+Del stop at newlines, as usual on Windows - Ctrl+Space doesn't select initial line indentation whitespace - Ctrl+Tab hotkey modified to always insert a tabulator - Increase (Alt++) and decrease (Alt+-) long lines limit - Display long lines limit in statusbar if visual marker enabled - Import and export settings from customization dialog (Alt+I, Alt+X) - Added "Regular Expression" style to JavaScript and Java schemes - Updated filename extension lists with more default types - Updated Python keywords to version 3.0 - Simplified SQL keywords (merged from MySQL and SQLite) - Improved compatibility with Windows Vista - Improved visual appearance of toolbar button images - Print margins can be set to "0" - Fixed several bugs with regular expression find and replace - Fixed bug with hanging of recent files dialog - Fixed bug with charset not being saved properly - Fixed bug with display of text selection at the beginning of lines - Fixed bug with cursor movement at the start and end wrapped lines - Updated Scintilla library to 1.76 >> Homepage >> Direct Download >> Readme/Changelog
2. Great find prathapml! Cheers buddy Just downloaded uTorrent now, but i'm definately gonna give it a test drive. Certinaly looks like their onto a winner here, especially if they keep the client as small as possible. The UI looks very similar to Azureus, yet uses a lot less system resources, looks like I've found a new BitTorrent client!
3. Another option is to use 'pskill' by Sysinternals, which is available here. Not only can you terminate processes locally by either Process ID or Name, but you can also terminate processes running on other machines, provided you have access to them of course .
4. Build one, without a shadow of a doubt. Why? well there are so many reasons (most have already been mentioned) where's the fun in paying for something you can't have exactly the way you want? (Without paying a small fortune to companies like Dell!) Oh and all the pre-loaded junk they force upon you which 9 times out of 10 gets re-installed when you use the recovery disc that came with your new PC. That's definitely one of my pet peeves! I'm sure other people will agree with me when I say there's nothing better than after saving up your money to have big cardboard boxes being delivered to your door! The building part has to be the best part of course, you always remember how much quicker your computer boots into Windows, or how much quicker your favourite game runs -- nothing better IMO. Only time I would purchase 'off the shelf' would be a laptop, other than that custom-built all the way!
5. From what I understand only the admin versions of the updates can be slipstreamed, which is the reason they are used. The error message however, is more of a cautionary note to normal users than anything else, warning that only a system admin should update that particular installation because it must detect that admin updates have been used. All your have to do is simply download the admin versions of the updates which appear instead, since your obviously the person who created the slipstreamed office CD in the first place. Simply visit http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=XXXXXX replacing the X's with the KB article number and download the admin version of that particular update. For example http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=895658, which would provide details for 'Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB895658)' which you mentioned. Scanning for updates via Microsoft Update doesn't display any error message so I can only assume that it downloads and installs the admin versions of the updates. I hope this answers your question.
6. Looks very minimal, but in a good way... I like it Would like to see this available to download in the near future. Keep up the good work!

8. You sure know what you like Bâshrat, but wow! I heard Dell had made a stunning monitor, but I wasn't sure of the model no. I also couldn't find one in the Dell brochure I received through the post recently. I've just noticed that until the end of the month Dell have a promotion on the 905FP and 2005FPW, where you can buy 1 Dell Flat Panel Monitor and get a 2nd of the same type for 50% off. Man I'm so tempted, shame I can't even afford one, lol
9. Couldn't sign into the MSN Messenger servers earlier, but everything seems to be working fine now. So I don't think there's anything wrong with your setup. B)

13. DVD Decrypter v3.5.3.0 DVD Decrypter is a free tool that allows you to decrypt and copy DVDs to your PC's hard disk. DVD Decrypter can write most types of CD / DVD images via its 'ISO Write' mode, and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use DVD Decrypter to erase / format your rewritable media! Advanced functionality can be found in context menus that appear when you right click on various bits of the user interface. Can you find them all??!! This is a pretty big update, hopefully you can see that from the changelog! IF you do happen to find something I've broken, please just come and tell me about it in the forum. >> Changelog >> Download

15. Great idea prathapml this definately gets my vote. This way were be able to bounce ideas off each other (not literally ) and create some really cracking boot-loaders and autoruns. Keep those ideas coming guys! Cee-Kay
16. Hey FthrJACK, Great graphics skills you've got there buddy! I dunno if I would have the patience or the steady hand to do that, lol I would love to see the label on the retail CD/DVD to see how they compare -- I'm sure you've done a much better job!
17. Now the strange thing is, I'm sure I downloaded the version before it (6.6.0.5) the day they say they released this version! I remember because I decided to look for updates to Nero because that was the day I received my new DVD burner.
18. Nero Reloaded 6.6.0.6 is available Everyone's favourite burning suite has been updated! >>Download Here * Fixed a DVD 'On the Fly' copy problem * Booktype settings explanation is added in the GUI * Fixed a problem with copying a DVD video over image * Re-encoding of MPEG-1 files to (S)-VCD is improved * Fixed failure to fully erase DVD-RAM * Burning some ASF files caused "Unknown error in the Video MPEG encoder" * Switching to NeroExpress did not close the preview * The save track operation (save as image) did not warn if there was not enough hard disc drive space and no image file was created * Changing the volume creation date caused an error * If an audio CD is created and the source file names are long, the print function can now print all pages EDIT: Change log added! 19. Hi Abeo, Try visiting a site like doom9.org, it contains all sorts of conversion guides, links to software you might need and much more. Even if it doesn't tell you everything you need to know it's a great starting point. Software wise I would recommend you try DVD2SVCD, not only is it freeware, but it gives very good results IMO. Lets us know how you get on. Cee-Kay
20. Thanks as always Alanoll, definately one less thing to worry about on my uA CD! B) Cheers Cee-Kay
21. I was having the same problem with trying to install Ghost from an AIP. So exactly as you posted I removed the same condition using WinINSTALL LE and it installs fine. As for the question regarding the Serial number a stumbling block I'm also experiencing, I've been unable to locate any presence of it. So far I have searched the Registry and any newly created files, I've also created Before and After shots of changes to my computer using RegShot, but came up with nothing. The problem I was experiencing was that Norton Ghost was already installed, so I decided to remove it prior to checking whether my Silent Installation was successful before porting it over to my uA CD. However, instead of asking me to accept the License Agreement and entering my Product Key (as per the first time I installed it) my Product Key was already present on the about screen -- so uninstalling the product hadn't actually removed all traces of the program from my computer! Can anyone else suggest a possible location where this information maybe stored or the relevant switch to pass to the .Msi file? Thanks in advance Cee-Kay
22. English is my native tongue, but I can also speak French, Italian and also some Spanish.
23. In regards to your question NTFS supports partitions upto a couple of Terabytes, something none of us could use, not for a while anyway. File size on NTFS volumes is limited only by the size of the volume. FAT32 on the other hand I know it has a file size limit of 4 GB. I wasn't entirely sure on the partition size so I checked the Windows XP help file... As for the problem your friend has, perhaps the problem is caused by the BIOS. This kind of problem can normally be resolved by upgrading the BIOS software, make sure the instructions are followed carefully to avoid a non-starting system. I hope this helps. Cee-Kay
24. Webroot Windows Washer v5.5 Script Version: 1.0a This script deals with just about everything with regards to installing the latest version of Windows Washer 5. Although Webroot have released 'Spy Sweeper' in more user-friendly installer for our purposes the installer for Window Washer hasn't had the same treatment yet. Fully commented code to select both sets of installation options is included, as well as the program's install path. Also included is the appropiate registry entries to customise Window Washer -- Just 'Wash Items' and most of the 'Options' section, but it should be enough options to keep most people happy. Simply follow the format to include more options. Known Issues:

Run "Plug-in Detection" Option hasn't been coded for.
Run "Window Washer after Install Is Finished" Option hasn't been coded for.
These options haven't been coded purposly since most people make/use these installers for their uA CD/DVDs.
25. Once again, I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say thanks for taking the time and effort in create these msi installers. Despite my love for Winamp, I don't like installing every component that comes with it, so for someone to create just an msi installer, let alone an msi installer that allows you to choose exactly what you want to install is a god-send.
