  15. Problems with Yahoo's security software have resulted in some customer's emails being translated into nonsense. The company uses a filtering system to check messages sent to users of of its free web based email service. but a problem has been found in the filter. The filter attempts to avert cyber attacks by changing words inside HTML email attachments that could form part of harmfull programs. These programs, which could just be a few lines of text in a HTML email, can steal passwords or other personal information. However the filter has been changing words in innocent documents. Scott morris, international PR manager at yahoo said Morris wouldnt comment on the softwares tendancy to swap some words with ones of no proper meaning, for example, "medieval" becomes "medireview".Many yahoo users have been duped by the word changes, or simply not noticed them. type "medireview" into google and you find over 1200 web pages containing the nonsense word - mostly included in essays and articlews on history and guides to places. the mistake gets onto web pages when people pass html documents around and then simply copy and paste the text from the email into a site. other affected words include: "mocha" which becomes "expresso" and "evaluate" which became "reviewuate" Denis Zenkin head of comunications at anti virus company Kaspersky Labs said:
  16. Apple computer will launch a UK ad campaign this autumn in a bid to persuade windows PC owners to switch to mac OS X, its operating system and its mac computers. Apple has already begun to put ads on billboards and tv in the USA featuring members of the public talking about why they switched to the mac. As well as extolling the beneftis of apples hardware and software the ads claim migrating to a mac is much easier and troublle free than most Windows users think.
  17. have you tried NOT putting a password in? people tend to skip the admin password setting by accidentaly clicking ok when it asks for one, windows then carrys on installing, which is a bit stupid of MS in my opinion, it should stop and warn you or not allow you to click ok at all till a pass is entered.
  18. happy birthday bud
  19. englishmen 1, americans 0 we love u guys really
  20. im tired, but quickly before i go bed... when you run install.bat from the command line, install BOTH c:\adaptec\aspi\install.bat X86 and c:\adaptec\aspi\install.bat XP32 as a lot of cd burners look for the win2k ones and may or may not work properly without them both, after doing the installing run aspichk and make sure it updated. theres a LOT of sites explaining how and why aspi works, but i wouldnt worry about it, unless your a programmer, specially one dealing with CD writter software or something in that area why do you need dll files? ..... its just because u do!
  21. cheap asses yeah i know thats wood is used just so mormons and amish folk can build houses in a day to make themselves sound more odd than they already are...
  22. not sure about your bank, maybe it uses java? if so you will need to download it. the xp firewall might be blocking other services, it is a pain in the neck and gives no prompts or any sign its even there apart from the padlock icon on the connection icon, and most people never have reason to even look in there as they only have the on connection... via dialup to the internet. have you tried turning that off and using something like Kerio which is free and runs fine with XP? or maybe zonealarm which is free also (some people have problems with zone alarm and XP however, and it doesent work very well with AOL if you have that either) hope either of thos eideas give you a clue.... if not, any more details for us?
  23. original war... i found it a bit of an out of date game format with nice textures.... and elite, if you love empire earth so much, fight me you wuss!!! **** chicken...
  24. looks nice in your area jackpot, apart from the trees that are the wrong way up theres one piccy you took there with a guy who has had his roof ripped off, but the stars and stripes stayed on the flag pole hope your weather isnt like that all the time! **americans take note!! This is why us clever brits make houses out of STONE you guys get bad storms and high winds, forest fires and the like, so it amazes me why you use wood to build them! or maybe thats what you do with all the fallen over trees....
