  1. Firefox was installed on there, and still no luck. It says that the connection timed out.
  2. Yes, I do have an account with an ISP. I tried both at the customers house on their equip. and at my house w/ my equip. and same result. I've tried both wireless and hard wired at both locations and nothing is budging. It is running the Windows Firewall and I disabled that it still no luck. I did notice that Norton was installed on there at one time. I ran into a problem before where I had to run Norton removal tool to clear up an issue very similar to this but not sure if this is the same issue or not. I'll try disabling IP 6 and those last few suggestions and reply back with results.
  3. Have you tried changing network cards?
  4. I'm working on a laptop that's driving me insane!!! The system is running Windows Vista basic and can't connect to the internet. It is able to obtain an IP address, and can ping and resolve website addresses like google.com but other than that that's all the internet can do. The web browser shows page cannot be displayed. When you type http://www.google.com, the page can't be displayed, when you type in www.google.com the page says, The address is not valid, and in the address bar it shows http:///. I've ran virus scans and nothing has shown up. AVG, Spybot both gave clean results. I ran CWShredder and it showed up clean as well. Firefox is installed on this device and it is not able to connect as well. I've cleaned out cookies and deleted temp. internet files, and set back default settings, still no go. It didn't have SP1 installed when it came to me, so I installed SP1 and still no luck. Could somebody PLEASE help me out?
  5. It's best to run your service pack updates one at a time in order. That way to lessen the chance of something going wrong. I don't think you'll need one that's language specific as long as it comes from Microsoft you should be good to go. Best bet is if you can get it in multi-language and English isn't your native language then you should be fine. No there is no SP4 to my knowledge. Yes you do need to update to SP3 to ensure your office package is running its best and is at its most secure status, to help prevent hackers getting into your system and keep your office package running as stable as possible.
  6. For just general use Outlook Express is your answer. It's lighter and less resource intensive. Although I feel that office outlook is more secure and has more bells and whistles, but for just general e-mail read and send I say go w/ express.
  7. I've done both where I work and both of them have their pluses. Network attached you plug in and your done. Server attached you could backup to tape afterward to ensure the backup is complete. When it comes to something like this I say weigh out your pricing options and go from there.
  8. I don't see why you couldn't. I updated to 9 a couple of weeks ago, but didn't do it offline. I guess if anything download it straight to your D drive and see if it'll auto. pick up the D: drive to install upon. Not a gurantee it'll work but I have seen it done before.
  9. I'm working on a pc that won't sync. with the address book on our Exchange Server. He's able to send/recieve mail with no problem, pull adresses in from the address book with no problem, it just won't update his address book from the server. He is running Outlook 2007 and our Exchange Server is 2007. When he tries to get just the address book to sync. here's what he gets, "Task 'e-mail address goes here' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.' " Not sure what's going on here but if someone could find out I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
  10. Yes, this is the only user having this problem. She set it online w/o any problems.
  11. I am working on a pc that has Office 2007 installed and whenever the user tries to use OOF she gets a popup that says, "Your out of office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable." I've ran all the office office updates and the issue is still there. Any ideas?
  12. The HDTV will only show the max quality the VGA is pushing out, if VGA is pushing out $*) then the HDTV will show 480. Same goes with other video connections as well.

I checked the hard drive and couldn't find the memory.dmp file. Is the hard drive itself going bad then?

    XP BSOD

I have a Dell Inspiron I'm working on and here's the problem. When it loads it'll load to the desktop fine. When you try to open an application it goes straight to the BSOD. I'm not sure what is causing it. Is there any way I could pull the log file off and have somebody look at it and find out what is causing the BSOD? I also can't remember where to pull the file from so if somebody could show me where as well I'd appreciate it. THANKS!
  17. Hey gang, I'm trying to get Norton Ghost to install on Windows Server 2003. I keep getting the error that says that the OS is not supported. Any help on bypassing this and getting the installer to work? I've purchased the license and software and would like to get it to work. Any thoughts?
  18. Thanks Zxian. I went online today and requested a refund for those boards and ordered these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813186145 I'll try that though. I think I got an old CPU layin around. Actually, I might have one still in the box. I'll check and see. Do you think that motherboard will work?
  19. I have DDR2-800 memory in the system. Could it be the CPU not being supported by the motherboard?
  20. I purchased 6 foxconn g9657 motherboards with Intel E7300 Core 2 Duo CPU's. I am building six systems for a guy so this is drastic. I hooked everything up and when I booted the system up all the system fans kick on, but no picture. I've tried everything, removing drive connections, changed RAM, removed RAM, I even had nothing plugged into the motherboard but power and the powerswitch. I've tried this on all 6 motherboards and nothing works. I even messed with the BIOS jumper and still no luck. Any idea on what the problem could be?
  21. I'm working on a pc that was infected with viruses and spyware. When it was brought to me it was able to ping out to the internet but wasn't able to actually connect to a website. I got it all cleaned up, but now when it loads a website it won't show any pics, you have to right click on the pic and tell it to show pictures before any pics will load. Is there anyway of fixing this? I was considering reinstalling the OS using the repair feature but if there's a simpler fix I'll go that route. Any thoughts?
