  1. The user did mention that they were having trouble with their iPod classic connecting to the PC. Could this be causing the issues?
  2. I have a customer reporting that their system is doing random BSOD's. I checked it a couple of weeks ago and found it was infected with malware. I cleaned it up and thought everything was fixed. They called again last week and said the BSOD was back. I checked the hard drive and the scans show the beginnings of the drive malfunctioning. I want to ensure that this is the only issue this device is having. I'm attaching the minidump file for reivew if someone could take a look to ensure my findings are correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mini061412-02.zip
  3. I'm having trouble trying to do webstreaming. I have an audio cable going from my iPhone to the audio input on my laptop and whenever I stream it online the audio sounds like it is underwater. I thought it was my cable so I bought a new audio cable and it still does it. So I thought it was the device so I tried a different device with new audio card and it STILL is happening. I'm working on streaming our local Relay For Life next week and want to get this resolved by then. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I have a system that after the user closes an email Outlook automatically closes. They open up the message and close the message and when they do that Outlook closes itself. It is random when it happens, they could look at 5 messages and it'll happen on the 5th message, go back and it may not do it again until after 10 messages. I have tried repairing the installation and still nothing. I've seen several people run into this on google but no one has a solution. Any thoughts?
  5. What about NOD32, I've heard it's pretty lightweight.
  6. I have a co-worker who is having trouble opening PDF's. Whenever the files come in almost every time she gets the following message: The file is damaged and unable to repair. If she receives the file from You Send It, it comes in just fine. She is running Adobe 9 Standard Edition, and we have tried reinstalling but no dice. Any thoughts?
  7. I agree, it looks like they are trying to compete with Apple and instead of creating two different OS platforms, one for tablets and one for desktops, they are trying to cram everything into one. Mark my words if / when Windows 8 flops because of this, the next gen OS will have two different platforms.
  8. I FINALLY got it to work last night. While running the Windows 7 upgrade CD I had the CD download installer updates and everything loaded just fine. I haven't messed with it today since the install last night but I think it may be all good to go.
  9. Both the hard drive and DVD drive are SATA. Device Manager gives the model number of the device and reconizes it, they just put both in an unkown category. I don't have the system in front of me. I'll take a look and see what the chipset holds.
  10. I don't think so, at least on the free version. I haven't used the purchased version.
  11. I'm trying to upgrade a system from Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. The problem I 'm having is while trying to run the upgrade it says that it find find information for the hard drive or DVD-RW that I must contact the manufacturer for information. I looked under the system properties and it showed both devices as unknown devices. I've tried uninstalling the devices to see if windows would reinstall the devices on reboot, but I get the same error. Any ideas?
  12. Update: I created a new user account and everything worked great. THANKS Tripredacus!!!!!!!!
  13. I did try that, when in safe mode it won't show any of the printers because print spooler won't run in safe mode. I'll try the different user account after report back. If anyone can think of any other tests to try in the mean time feel free to post.
  14. I'm listening to Slacker on my phone. I just wish they would come out with an embed player for websites then I could listen to slacker on my business site.
  15. I forgot to test that. This thing has gotten me so stressed out it isn't funny. In the off chance the same result occurs in the other account what is my next step of action?
  16. I've got a customer system that is causing me to pull my hair out. The customer called and said that they weren't able to print on this system. So I checked it out and the first thing I did was go to Printers and Devices. The page starts to load but then it just stops and hangs when it almost goes to the end without loading anything. The only way I can get the printers to show up is by turning the printer spooler service off and then back on. After I do that I can see the printers but I can't manage them and still can't print. I researched online and found several posts about enabling the bluetooth service, did that and still no go. One thing I did find weird is that under device and printers that it is showing 3 generic non-pnp monitors, but it only has one plugged in. Don't know if that has anything to do with it but thought I'd throw that in. Any thoughts on how to fix it? I've racked a lot of time into this and the client is losing time by not having this system running. Any help would be much appreciated.
  17. I'm using Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 to create my new website for my business and am running into a problem. See I want the website to auto. adjust to the screens resolution to make it look as professional as possible. Web design is not one of my strong points, everything I know has been self taught. So I'm lost on how to fix this. Anybody know how I can fix this using the program or know a code I can put it to realign and adjust everything?
  18. That worked great, thanks cluberti, only one other problem. When I checked the registry the Shell was corrupted. I changed it to explorer.exe then ran the task again and the desktop showed up with no problems. After I rebooted I got the black screen again but this time when I run explorer in teh run bar the desktop shows up. What do I need to do to reenable to to run at statup like it should?
  19. I am able to open up task manager, and the first thing I tried was run explorer.exe. When I run that it opens up My Computer. I'll check the registry and see what I can find there. I'll update when I have more info.
  20. A buddy of mine brought me his laptop yesterday stating his screen wouldn't show anything. After looking at it here's what I found. 1. Screen does work, issue resides in Vista. 2. When running in Normal bootup the system loads up to the Welcome screen then after that the desktop won't load, just black screen and no icons or taskbar. I tried loading up in Safe Mode and same result but a spyware app would ran. i cleaned it all up but am still having the same issue of the black screen in both normal and safe mode. Any thoughts on what is wrong and ways to fix it?
  21. AWSOME!!! I love VLC, gonna go out and get the update! Thanks ripkin204!
  22. If he burned it on his machine, have him try finalizing the disc, most of the time that fixes the issue.
  23. Thanks for the chart. That chart explains alot.
  24. I tried installing 98 on an Athlon 64 when they first came out a few years ago, and no luck.
  25. Here's what I found so far after more testing: Shut off IP6 no luck. It can see the other computers on the network, both name and IP. Neither router is blocking anything. I am able to ping google.com as well as www.google.com I don't think it's an internet explorer issue because firefox isn't working either. Is there anything I should try or should I just format and reinstall?
