  1. chetan, looks like it should be OK. Did you check the MD5 (B7336B61FA9D1A3529D131639A116FE5)? Enjoy, John. EDIT: I trust you are always starting with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and running only one time.
  2. chetan, thanks for the Last Session. I see you are running nLite under Vista or W7 (6.1.7600.0). This may be a problem, especially if you are adding Service Pack, but I don't see your adding an SP. I do not use Update Packs, but I suspect the problem lies there. Where did the update pack come from - give us a link? For a test, please try without the pack. You should get no errors running nLite or installing your ISO. Enjoy, John.
  3. I have the same log content as you have. Please see my first reply. I do not think you have any problem. It is just an error message of activity while the .NET installer is running. Do you have any problem using .NET? Mine works fine. I have translated this using Google Translate. You can do the same too, if you like, to read previous replies. Please tell us if you have any symptoms using .NET. Enjoy, John. ItaloEvil, non penso che bisogna risolvere nulla, e probabilmente non può impedire che questo messaggio di errore. Sto facendo nulla il mio messaggio di errore. Sei problemi a utilizzare. NET? Godetevi, John. Ho lo stesso contenuto di log come hai. Si prega di vedere la mia prima risposta. Non penso che c'è qualche problema. E 'solo un messaggio di errore di attività, mentre il. Installatore NET è in esecuzione. Avete qualche problema usando. NET? Mine funziona bene. Ho tradotto questo usando Google Translate. Si può fare lo stesso anche, se volete, leggere le risposte precedenti. Si prega di dirci se avete sintomi usando. NET. Godetevi, John.
  4. ItaloEvil, I don't think you have to solve anything, and probably cannot prevent this error message. I am doing nothing about my error message. Are you having problems using .NET? Enjoy, John.
  5. ItaloEvil, here is the same log from my install of .NET 4 on HW under W7. It looks pretty much the same and I do not think it is really an error. When I look at almost any of the .log files on my W7 installs, I see errors all over the place. Please note the next to last line "[5/22/2010, 10:41:10] Exiting with result code: 0x0", which is the same as yours. I have no problems that I am aware of and would ask what if any problems you have. I think this is OK. Enjoy, John.
  6. MauMau77, obviously, we have no idea what you are doing. To me, using sysprep means a business environment and nLite is for personal use only. If you are using nLite in a business environment, then you should stop because the license agreement does not permit it. If you are not using nLite, then you need to post in the Unattended forum for XP. Enjoy, John.
  7. jmhonnold, looks like -X- knows what validation means, but I do not. Please tell us what you mean by validation. As requested at the top, please attach your Last Session. To determine what kind of CD you have, please open SETUPP.INI with notepad and post what the value of Pid is. Did you see any errors running nLite or during install? You should see none. Enjoy, John.
  8. syndoc66, sounds like you have some data errors on your CD. I suggest you try cleaning your CD carefully, looking for scratches and if you have an optical drive cleaning disc, run it. Good luck, John.

Esher, I do think it is the RVM integrator. What's left? You can place update packs in the nLite Hot Fix area. I do not use Update Packs, but know that they are available for nLite with all the updates after SP3. I do not think your problems are caused by nLite. Many, many hundreds even thousands of users have no problems you describe including me. Please attach your Last Session the next time you think you need to get some help. Please always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, run nLite only once and run no other SW against your source and let us know the outcome. Enjoy, John.
  10. firsak, I cannot comment on your .ini method of installing vcredist since I am not familiar with your it. I also have added versions of vcredist and I don't know for sure what application is installing them. On this machine (XP x64) I have at least one extra one. On my W7 machine I think at least two. I do see some SW adding vcredist. Other than this, I am not sure what your concerns/problems are. Please let us know. Enjoy, John.

Esher, this is my opinion and others will disagree. Using RVMIntegrator or any other SW to process your source before using nLite is just asking for problems. I do everything with nLite and have no problems. Enjoy, John.
  12. CyberPhunk, I see no time zone in your _u.ini file, so I assume you did not set it. It should be set on the Regional tab of the Unattended Task. I also see that you have removed the Administrator account. Don't know if this is a problem or not, but I always leave it there. There are also some False parameters in the _u.ini file that are different from mine. I don't know what these refer to, but look at all your User definitions and make sure they are properly filled out. I also Auto-Login my new account with administrator privileges. Enjoy, John.
  13. wizer, do you recognize the path 'D:\folder\folder\root_of_dvd\'? What security SW are you now running? Have you tried with the security SW turned off (when I try this, I unplug my modem). Are you running the latest version of nLite (1.4.9.1)? Enjoy, John.

Esher, you are running nLite under Vista (or W7) to create an XP ISO. This can be a problem, especially if you are are integrating a Service Pack. Try running under XP if you still have problems after dealing with Kels identified problems. Enjoy, John.
  15. glaurung, I edit my winnt.sif after running nLite to set some NIC parameters that are not handled properly. I suggest you do the same or at least make sure the nLite produced winnt does not contain anything needed that yours does not have. Enjoy, John.
  16. glaurung, what do you mean by "dropped my winnt.sif"? I see that it is not an nLite created winnt.sif, so I have no idea what that could cause. I am also not aware of anyone using W2000 to create an XP ISO. I have been around a couple of years and have not seen this problem before. Please try running nLite under XP, and let it use the winnt.sif that is created. You can do this under VirtualPC. I also do not think VPC is the source of your problems. If you want to see if it is a problem with slipping SP3 under W2000, then run again but do not integrate an SP and see if it works (use the nLite winnt.sif) Enjoy, John.
  17. mainpage, why don't you post in the SFXMaker forum? I would think it should handle MSI installers but, as said initially, I am not familiar with it. Enjoy, John.
  18. CyberPhunk, I can't see anything obvious, but I cannot see several things, such as your creating a user account. You can post your Last Session_U.ini, but please purge it of your key and all other private information. Earlier, I asked if you had run nLite more than once. Running nLite more than once against the same source can definitely lead to your symptoms. Please see my earlier post. Enjoy, John.
  19. mainpage, sorry, I do not understand what you are asking. Enjoy, John.
  20. mainpage, open a Run dialog, enter msiexec and it will tell you all the switches. Enjoy, John.
  21. mainpage, I know nothing about SFXMaker 1.2, but assume if it can create silent installers, it can handle .NET. You need to asked a forum on the installer for an answer. The switches I use for installing .NET are here: dotnetfx35.exe /Passive /NoRestartI think if you change the Passive to Silent it will be completely quiet, but I prefer to see something is happening. Enjoy, John.
  22. _matt, here are the lines in my log file: Yours does not have the second line. As maxXPsoft said, it looks like your setupcomplete.cmd hung. Did you do a Reboot in it? Seems like I read that you cannot do a Reboot here. Don't know what the symptoms are if you do. Enjoy, John.
  23. CyberPhunk, glad to hear the paths are working for you. I do a Fully Automatic install, specifying all my settings and I receive no request for data during install and all my settings are applied. Please ask specific questions and attach your latest Last Session if you want further help. Enjoy, John.
  24. alexsupra, as shown in the first post, the Registry entries are in nLite.inf. This file can be found in the nLited folder compressed into NLITE.IN_. Extract it, open with notepad and you can see all the Registry changes. Enjoy, John.
  25. rna023, either name is OK. The WAIK contains unattend.chm, which explains how to construct the .xml file. I think the MS Download Center has a smaller file with just the information without the whole WAIK, but if you have WAIK installed, then there is a Documentation short cut in the Start Menu. Enjoy, John. EDIT: BTW, there is a folder with the name Documents and Settings, but it only yields Access Denied and is not in the %UserProfile% path.
