    Slipstreaming SP3

devolic, iamtheky response only applies to a running system. When using nLite, only apply the SP you want, SP3 in this case. See Kels comments here. Enjoy, John.
  2. Hugo_Luiten, this is your LastSession_u.ini not LastSession.ini. Please attach (not paste) it. Enjoy, John.

    SisRaid.sys

Gr8BigApe, I looked at the MSI manual and tried the SiS site to find a driver, with no luck. The SiS site is one of the worst sites I have encountered. No matter what I did, I could not find any drivers except graphic. Please give me a link, if you have one. Do you have the PCB 2.0 version of the board? Enjoy, John.
  4. atolica, please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you have not run nLite more than once against the same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Enjoy, john.
  5. freeAppz, I use AutoUpdates = 3 and it works fine. What do you mean by "can't get to work"? You say you use a clean Windows. Do you mean you never nLite the same source more than once? Always use a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John.
  6. keithh, thanks for the LastSesion.ini - makes things easier. Your .NET looks fine - same as mine. I don't see anything that I think would cause your symptoms. I suspect you have run nLite more than once against the same source. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Multiple nLiteing produces really strange and varied symptoms. For the program installs there are AddOns (see forum here) but I don't use them. I use the process Kurt_Aust describes here. His tutorial is for XP x64 but can be used for XP. I suggest you look into a virtual system (VirtualBox, VirtualPC, VMware Server - all free) to reduce the making of coasters and to get quicker results. It takes less than 15 minutes to install an ISO (file, no CD) under VMware Server. You should have a logoff button - I do and only one user. Enjoy, John.

    SisRaid.sys

Gr8BigApe, I assume your size and MD5 are the same as mine? I have seen some here trying to get a USB floppy to work. I don't know if they were successful, but I assume you would need a text mode driver for that. What MSI board do you have, so I can look around? Enjoy, John.

    SisRaid.sys

Gr8BigApe, I assume you are sure you have your RAID set up properly? I DLed the folder you pointed to and here are the statistics on SiSRaid.sys: 47.0 KB (48,128 bytes) MD5 826B83CDAAFB6E164BBC1D77CB99E2CE. Check your's and see it agrees. Perhaps you have a corrupted DL. Is there any more information with the error message? I opened the the SISRAID (no extension) file with notepad and it had only one line of "SiSRaid". I don't know what this is for, but you might try just placing it into your driver folder - shouldn't hurt. Perhaps MSI can cast some light on what is going on. Enjoy, John.

    SisRaid.sys

Gr8BigApe, what kind of HDDs do you have? If they are SATA, you probably need text mode drivers for them also. Enjoy, John.
  10. msfnnewbie, thanks much for re-posting and solution. Enjoy, John.
  11. verve, I have no specific suggestions except to start adding back IE and network stuff until it works. I hope you are testing under a virtual system. You have removed a ton of things that might create the problems you are seeing. Perhaps someone has a specific item to leave. Good luck, John.
  12. msfnnewbie, please tell us what resolved it. Erasing the original problem is not helpful for others. Enjoy, John.
  13. Tony Bananas, I don't use AddOns or Update Packs, so I can't suggest any one but I would either remove half or all of them and see if it works. Then narrow it down to the problem one. You should send the error to nuhi via e-mail (see nLite web site) and a PM. Please let us know what you hear from him. Good luck, John. Edit: Please, in the future, attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini. Also make sure you do not run nLite against the same source more than once. John.
  14. msfnnewbie, I suspect you have nLited your source more than once. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. I had the symptom of the Windows Version on my DT and it was caused by nLiteing the same source more than once. I would also respectfully suggest that you not hint your problems are nLite bugs. Please do some reading and searching these forums. I think you will find several with similar problems. Also, in the future please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini. Enjoy, John.
  15. jianbin, since we really don't know what you are doing, I can only guess that you have nLited your source more than once. You should always start with a fresh coy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Please attach (not paste) your LastSesion.ini. I don't know what you want here but, perhaps the the RunOnce tab of the Unattended session of nLite is what you need. Do some reading and searching in these forums. Enjoy, John.
  16. Tibibs, did you try a command line slipstream of SP3, similar to this? If you did and got the same error, either Kels is correct - OEM source problem- or this can't be done under Vista for XP. Fernando 1 said XP x64 could be nLited under XP (32 bit) but that slipstreaming could not be done (see this). Perhaps this extends to VISTA/XP slipstreaming. Can you try it on a system running Windows XP? Good luck, John. EDIT: Tibibs, please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of your source folder. Thanks, John.
  17. fmkhan100, sounds like you have run nLite on a source that has already had nLite run on it. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in ONE nLite session. I had the Quick Launch problem once and it was caused by nLiteing the same source multiple times - I don't do that any more. I think MS released a hot fix for the Kabul time zone problem, but I think probably all the other problems are caused by multiple running of nLite. If you still have problems after addressing these, please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini. Enjoy, John.
  18. Truffle, We have no idea since we don't know what you are doing. What are you doing? Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you are not nLiting a source that has already been nLited. Enjoy, John.
  19. Kurt_Aust says he got this to work for Win98se OEM and WinXP Pro upgrade. See his post, a few from the bottom. Enjoy, John.
  20. jim5555, yes, the txtsetup.oem is associated with the text mode driver. After you extract the .exe file, then right click the folder the files are in and click Search. Search for *.inf. Here is a post I put up some time ago about Catalyst Video drivers. Enjoy, John.
  21. verve, we have no idea what you have done and against what - I know of no mind readers here. Please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you are NOT nLiteing the same source more that once. Enjoy, John.
  22. Tibibs, your LastSession.ini looks OK. Have you tried Compatibility Mode? Have you looked at your SP3 to see if it is like I posted? Enjoy, John.
  23. fmkhan100, if you have problems, please describe them and we will try to help. Most problems are self inflicted! Attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and look around (search) for others with similar problems. Enjoy, John.
  24. jim5555, please attach (not paste) your LastSession.ini and make sure you nLite your source only once. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and do all your work in one nLite session. Stay away from all Vista and x64 folders. You are looking for the .inf files for the drivers that go with the OS your are to run. You probably also need text mode drivers for the SATA drives (sometimes called PF6 drivers). If the drives DL as an .exe file, you need to try extracting them. I use 7-Zip for this. Good luck, John.
  25. Tibibs, Kels may be correct, but I don't think it is time to give up. First, please attach your LastSession.ini as I requested before. I see you are running Vista. Try running nLite in XP Compatibility Mode. Right click nLite.exe (in Programs Files folder), select Properties-Compatibility tab-check 'Run in...' and select XP SP2 Compatibility Mode. I have downloaded WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-FRA.exe, it is 309 MB (324,222,504 bytes), and has an MD5 of A9A9A86E7330BFFAF64AE2ACFB73D959. If you disagree with any of these, please let me know. Enjoy, John.
