The lock seemed to go away. CLOSED (Restart fixed it)

I installed the Brico Vista Pack and it worked fine. A couple months later I decided to change my theme. Under Properties>Appearance, Windows and Buttons: is locked. I remember that happening when I installed it before and I did a system restore. Now, my restore points don't date back to before the transformation pack. I wan to change my theme, so I click a .msstyle under the Resources\Themes folder and it worked fine until I rebooted, then the vista theme came back. How can I undo this lock and change my theme freely again after this misfortune Brico Packs have brought me.

You could use ResHack to pop open the msstyle and replace the bitmaps with bitmaps of your own. Make sure they are the same dimensions. I'm thinking about making my own style, but that will be a while.

How can I combine an install image of Vista Home Basic and Vista Ultimate? I already made the Ultimate and plan of making the Home Basic. After the Home Basic WIM is done, how can I add it, or is it not possible? I have a WIM image with all the Windows Vista versions, but modded the Ultimate file for my system and removed the rest. So how can I add more?

A lot of setups now come compressed to save the file host bandwidth. You could try disabling your antivirus, but on older computers the self extractors may cause a little time lapse. You seems a little long though. Try disk defrag too?

I had a similar problem. It wanted me to download and install serice pack 1 for office 2007, but I had already installed it via the network folder in the enterprise edition. I also had some other problems with Windows Update failing. I just decided to try out the SP3 releases (beta) and it fixed the issues. .NET really isn't that important, but if you want to take the risk, try installing SP3.

Chnage them from icons to thumbnail views. It will turn them into squares about 4 times the size of a normal icon. Its under the change view thing along with details, list, etc.

You could try %homedrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs or %homedrive%\Documents and Settings\*Your User Name*\Start Menu\Programs You can try side click (normally set to right) and hit delete in the drop down. Then reopen the start menu if it doesn't immediately go away.
