  1. I'm using USB 1.1 and 2.0 in one PC without any problem. So I can't see why it will not work for u..
  2. Use The Following: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting]"DoReport"=dword:00000000
  3. See if this helps: MSDN about Autorun.inf
  4. Where do some ppl get the time to come up with this stuff... DÔH!!!
  5. Uhm yeah that's what I said.. files are copied, and running the exe file with switches imports the registry, and creates icons, add/remove link and file associasions. so why make a .reg file when an exe file does the trick 4 u ? and by register I mean entering serial number and username
  6. @DarakLeaf XtremeMaC has got a point there.. maybe it's a wise thing to check. run Spybot S&D or Spywareblaster (both freeware) to see if there is spyware or a pest in your system
  7. @mazin Thats exacly what "%ProgramFiles%\winzip\winzip32.exe" /noqp /notip /autoinstall does. The files must be copied, and running the command runs a silent "install" that imports the regkeys. All you need to do after that is register winzip, by importing a reg file or other means

    ConfigSelect 1.1.0

Very Very nice.... going to use it 4 sure..
  9. Winzip Is a utility to unpack packed files such as .zip. Windows XP has this functionality as a standard now, but Winzip has more options
  10. Did u try to change the line for starting the setup in "%ProgramFiles%\winzip\winzip32.exe" /noqp /notip /autoinstall (this is for winzip 9 so /cleaninstall could work for 8) at first I forgot the "" and it started the setup, but didn't do anything. And, as you, running it manual worked normally.
  11. U R Welcome. here's more about the desktop.ini: MSDN about Desktop.ini
  12. In what startup folder is this shortcut? Is it in the All Users or your own profile? or maybe both? than that's your problem.
  13. Try start -> Run and type "Control UserPasswords2" without the "" and see if autologin is enabled.
  14. There's also an Issue with XP SP1 and Hyper threading. They never made a hotfix for it. but should be fixed in SP2. Might explain some crashes.
  15. As far as I know these files are cached for repair and self-healing purposes. you cab use MSIZAP or an MSI cleanup tool. to remove orphaned or unneeded MSI files
  16. Is this happening with media files? than you can disable the preview (wich Windows does in the background) This reg will delete the keys that enable preview of media files Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avi\ShellEx][-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mpg\ShellEx][-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mpe\ShellEx][-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mpeg\ShellEx][EDIT] owkay maybe I should learn to read better.. it happens with more files... can you delete them in a dos-box.. or are they still "in use"?
  17. How did u try to add the program? by making a shortcut in the startup folder or in the registry? or maybe placing te .exe directly in the startup folder..
  18. You can make a desktop.ini file in the folder and put: [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile= IconIndex=0 in it... Iconfile pointing to the .dll or .ico IconIndex if the file is a .dll that contains more than one icon
  19. Own a star? Dude you got one already.... the more you post, the more stars you get, and name changes from newbie to member etc. Welcome to MSFN hope U find some answers here, and maybe give some too
  20. I'm having the same problem... the pack seems to be installed, but when clicking file -> preferences there's only English. It seems the .nls and .chm files are not copied to the nero folder The problem is not in the /language parameter. this is designed for the complete languagepack containing ALL languages As a temporarily workaround I use AutoIt to install it. Until I find a better solution this works fine for me..
  21. XtremeMaC U R Right it's always a good thing when other ppl are doing te work for u and I gave the uninstall some thoughts and added REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Winamp /v DisplayName /d "Winamp (remove only)" /f REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Winamp /v UninstallString /d "%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Winamp\UninstWA.exe" /f To the batch.... hm on second thought... maybe better to put it in the reg file.. anywayz.. see wich one works best for u
  22. Try this site http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm
  23. Maybe this http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm will help adding your S-ATA drivers
  24. Most of these Tweaks can be found in the Registry Tweaks Sticky:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8341 You could try to use the taskkill command
