  1. forgot one thing:) you can add drivers too to an image not just hotfixes and service packs AND it knows how to use single instance(like ultraiso for example and all those all-in-one's) which means you can put multiple images to one file(the common files are saved once=saves space on dvd) just havent figued out where to put unattned.xml(except floppy i mean)
  2. for those of you that are interested in learning the new tricks in vista unattended check the web for automated deploy kit for vista lets just say "forget everything you have ever known about xp" when you try to unattend vista:) totally changed more in awhile
  3. ok guys and girls here's an update on how to get this s***ty thing to work after many retries (actually on my last try) i got this working pretty easy just create a windows 2003 enterprise machine, format the disk with whatever u want before booting to longhorn cd/dvd and everything will work fine. one step install hope this helps you guys:) bye
  4. i personally need a good fast hard disk that is state of the art and that can only come from one place I.B.M or as it is called today Hitachi i have their disks for 4-5 years now, never failed, even though i really make them work very hard at work(multiple vmwares and lot of snapshots) its just the no.1 hard disk today
  5. hey one small thing just wanted to tell you(again and again:)) Bâshrat the Sneaky that you are doing an excelent and profesional work with your packs thanks alot
  6. ok like i thought when i copy the entries(exactly the same) to the HIVESFT.INF everything works perfectly ill stick with that:)
  7. no i just run it myself(cause i have more stuff im adding besides the driverpacks) SetDevicePath.exe c:\dp (on my hard disk) and copy the registry from my computer(after i erased it) to the winnt.sif file (what i do is extract the file with the driverz,to make install faster at detach program, before the device detection starts) ill try again, this time i copy it straight to the HIVESFT.INF like i did before(it doesnt have the character limit from what i know) ill let you know how it works in 30min
  8. hi i am using driverpack massstorage with clean i386 what i do is i run the setdevicepath to collect directory data myself and enter it to winnt.sif in pnpoempath first time i saw this thing ,in vmware the vga didnt install so i checked the registry and what i see there is this: instead of c:\dp\vmware... i see: %systemdrive%\c:\dp\vmware.... anyone has any idea why this happens? have i come to the limit of the oempnppath? heres my information from pnppath: %SystemRoot%\Inf;c:\dp\C\A;c:\dp\C\AU;c:\dp\C\I;c:\dp\C\N;c:\dp\C\V;c:\dp\C;c:\dp\G\A\1\B_21349;c:\dp\G\A\1\WDM;c:\dp\G\A\1;c:\dp\G\A\2\B_19827;c:\dp\G\A\2\CPanel;c:\dp\G\A\2;c:\dp\G\A\3;c:\dp\G\A;c:\dp\G\I\1;c:\dp\G\I\2;c:\dp\G\I\3;c:\dp\G\I;c:\dp\G\M\1;c:\dp\G\M\2;c:\dp\G\M\3;c:\dp\G\M;c:\dp\G\N;c:\dp\G\S\1;c:\dp\G\S\2;c:\dp\G\S\3;c:\dp\G\S;c:\dp\G\V\1;c:\dp\G\V\2;c:\dp\G\V\3;c:\dp\G\V\4;c:\dp\G\V\5;c:\dp\G\V;c:\dp\G\X\1\WDM;c:\dp\G\X\1;c:\dp\G\X\2;c:\dp\G\X;c:\dp\G;c:\dp\L\3\1;c:\dp\L\3\2;c:\dp\L\3\3;c:\dp\L\3;c:\dp\L\AU;c:\dp\L\B\2;c:\dp\L\B;c:\dp\L\BU\1;c:\dp\L\BU\2;c:\dp\L\BU\3;c:\dp\L\BU;c:\dp\L\D\1;c:\dp\L\D\2;c:\dp\L\D\3;c:\dp\L\D\4;c:\dp\L\D\5;c:\dp\L\D\6;c:\dp\L\D\7;c:\dp\L\D\8;c:\dp\L\D;c:\dp\L\I;c:\dp\L\L\1;c:\dp\L\L\2;c:\dp\L\L\3\B;c:\dp\L\L\3;c:\dp\L\L\4;c:\dp\L\L\5;c:\dp\L\L;c:\dp\L\LI\1;c:\dp\L\LI\2;c:\dp\L\LI\3;c:\dp\L\LI\4;c:\dp\L\LI\5;c:\dp\L\LI\6;c:\dp\L\LI\7;c:\dp\L\LI;c:\dp\L\M;c:\dp\L\MI\Drivers;c:\dp\L\MI;c:\dp\L\N\1;c:\dp\L\N\2;c:\dp\L\N\3\WIN2K;c:\dp\L\N\3;c:\dp\L\N\4;c:\dp\L\N\5;c:\dp\L\N\6;c:\dp\L\N\7;c:\dp\L\N\8;c:\dp\L\N;c:\dp\L\NV\O;c:\dp\L\NV;c:\dp\L\O\1;c:\dp\L\O\2;c:\dp\L\O\3;c:\dp\L\O\4;c:\dp\L\O\5;c:\dp\L\O\6;c:\dp\L\O\7;c:\dp\L\O\8;c:\dp\L\O;c:\dp\L\R\1;c:\dp\L\R\2;c:\dp\L\R;c:\dp\L\S;c:\dp\L\SM\1;c:\dp\L\SM\2;c:\dp\L\SM\3\Windows;c:\dp\L\SM\3;c:\dp\L\SM\4;c:\dp\L\SM\5;c:\dp\L\SM\6\WINDOWS;c:\dp\L\SM\6;c:\dp\L\SM\7\windows;c:\dp\L\SM\7;c:\dp\L\SM\8;c:\dp\L\SM\9;c:\dp\L\SM;c:\dp\L\T;c:\dp\L\V\1;c:\dp\L\V\2;c:\dp\L\V\3;c:\dp\L\V;c:\dp\L;c:\dp\M\3\1;c:\dp\M\3\2;c:\dp\M\3\3;c:\dp\M\3;c:\dp\M\A\1;c:\dp\M\A\2;c:\dp\M\A\3;c:\dp\M\A\4;c:\dp\M\A\5;c:\dp\M\A\6;c:\dp\M\A\7;c:\dp\M\A\8;c:\dp\M\A;c:\dp\M\AD\1;c:\dp\M\AD\2;c:\dp\M\AD\3;c:\dp\M\AD\4;c:\dp\M\AD\5;c:\dp\M\AD\6;c:\dp\M\AD\7;c:\dp\M\AD\8;c:\dp\M\AD;c:\dp\M\AM;c:\dp\M\AR;c:\dp\M\AU\1;c:\dp\M\AU\2;c:\dp\M\AU\3;c:\dp\M\AU\4;c:\dp\M\AU;c:\dp\M\D;c:\dp\M\H\1;c:\dp\M\H\2;c:\dp\M\H\3;c:\dp\M\H\4;c:\dp\M\H;c:\dp\M\IB\1;c:\dp\M\IB\2;c:\dp\M\IB;c:\dp\M\IN\1;c:\dp\M\IN\2\winnt\x86;c:\dp\M\IN\2\winnt;c:\dp\M\IN\2;c:\dp\M\IN;c:\dp\M\IT;c:\dp\M\L\1;c:\dp\M\L\2;c:\dp\M\L\3;c:\dp\M\L\4;c:\dp\M\L;c:\dp\M\N;c:\dp\M\P\1;c:\dp\M\P\2;c:\dp\M\P\3;c:\dp\M\P\4;c:\dp\M\P\5;c:\dp\M\P\6;c:\dp\M\P\7;c:\dp\M\P\8;c:\dp\M\P;c:\dp\M\Q\1;c:\dp\M\Q\2;c:\dp\M\Q\3;c:\dp\M\Q\4;c:\dp\M\Q;c:\dp\M\S\1;c:\dp\M\S\2;c:\dp\M\S\3;c:\dp\M\S\4;c:\dp\M\S\5;c:\dp\M\S\6;c:\dp\M\S\7;c:\dp\M\S;c:\dp\M\SI\1;c:\dp\M\SI;c:\dp\M\V\1;c:\dp\M\V\2;c:\dp\M\V;c:\dp\M;c:\dp\S\A;c:\dp\S\C\1;c:\dp\S\C\2;c:\dp\S\C;c:\dp\S\CR\LS\AddOn;c:\dp\S\CR\LS\Common;c:\dp\S\CR\LS\Lang;c:\dp\S\CR\LS\Win2K_XP;c:\dp\S\CR\LS;c:\dp\S\CR\WDM\COMMON;c:\dp\S\CR\WDM\LANG;c:\dp\S\CR\WDM\WIN2K_XP\Data;c:\dp\S\CR\WDM\WIN2K_XP;c:\dp\S\CR\WDM;c:\dp\S\CR;c:\dp\S\M\1;c:\dp\S\M\2;c:\dp\S\M\3;c:\dp\S\M\4;c:\dp\S\M\5;c:\dp\S\M\6;c:\dp\S\M\7;c:\dp\S\M\8;c:\dp\S\M\9;c:\dp\S\M\A;c:\dp\S\M\B;c:\dp\S\M\C;c:\dp\S\M\D;c:\dp\S\M;c:\dp\S\N;c:\dp\S\R\HD;c:\dp\S\R;c:\dp\S\S\D;c:\dp\S\S\F\1;c:\dp\S\S\F\2;c:\dp\S\S\F;c:\dp\S\S\S;c:\dp\S\S;c:\dp\S\SC;c:\dp\S\SI\1;c:\dp\S\SI\2;c:\dp\S\SI;c:\dp\S\SM\A\1;c:\dp\S\SM\A\2;c:\dp\S\SM\A\3;c:\dp\S\SM\A\4;c:\dp\S\SM\A\5;c:\dp\S\SM\A\6;c:\dp\S\SM\A;c:\dp\S\SM\G\1;c:\dp\S\SM\G\2;c:\dp\S\SM\G\3;c:\dp\S\SM\G\4;c:\dp\S\SM\G\5;c:\dp\S\SM\G\6;c:\dp\S\SM\G;c:\dp\S\SM\H\1;c:\dp\S\SM\H;c:\dp\S\SM\I;c:\dp\S\SM\IN\1;c:\dp\S\SM\IN\2;c:\dp\S\SM\IN\3;c:\dp\S\SM\IN\4;c:\dp\S\SM\IN;c:\dp\S\SM;c:\dp\S\T\1;c:\dp\S\T\2;c:\dp\S\T\3;c:\dp\S\T\4;c:\dp\S\T\5;c:\dp\S\T;c:\dp\S\V;c:\dp\S\Y\1;c:\dp\S\Y\2;c:\dp\S\Y;c:\dp\S;c:\dp\Vm\H;c:\dp\Vm\M;c:\dp\Vm\N;c:\dp\Vm\R;c:\dp\Vm\S;c:\dp\Vm\V;c:\dp\Vm;c:\dp\W\3C\1;c:\dp\W\3C\2;c:\dp\W\3C\3;c:\dp\W\3C\4;c:\dp\W\3C\5;c:\dp\W\3C\6;c:\dp\W\3C\7;c:\dp\W\3C;c:\dp\W\A;c:\dp\W\AI\1;c:\dp\W\AI\2;c:\dp\W\AI;c:\dp\W\AS;c:\dp\W\AT;c:\dp\W\B\1;c:\dp\W\B\2;c:\dp\W\B\3;c:\dp\W\B\4;c:\dp\W\B\5;c:\dp\W\B\6;c:\dp\W\B\7;c:\dp\W\B\8;c:\dp\W\B\9;c:\dp\W\B;c:\dp\W\BL\1;c:\dp\W\BL\2;c:\dp\W\BL\3\winxp;c:\dp\W\BL\3;c:\dp\W\BL\4;c:\dp\W\BL\5;c:\dp\W\BL\6;c:\dp\W\BL\7;c:\dp\W\BL\8;c:\dp\W\BL\9;c:\dp\W\BL;c:\dp\W\BU\1;c:\dp\W\BU\2;c:\dp\W\BU\3;c:\dp\W\BU\4;c:\dp\W\BU\5;c:\dp\W\BU\6;c:\dp\W\BU\7;c:\dp\W\BU\8;c:\dp\W\BU\9;c:\dp\W\BU\A;c:\dp\W\BU;c:\dp\W\C\1;c:\dp\W\C\2;c:\dp\W\C;c:\dp\W\D\1;c:\dp\W\D\2\A;c:\dp\W\D\2\D;c:\dp\W\D\2\E;c:\dp\W\D\2\F\WinXP;c:\dp\W\D\2\F;c:\dp\W\D\2;c:\dp\W\D\3\C;c:\dp\W\D\3\D;c:\dp\W\D\3\E;c:\dp\W\D\3;c:\dp\W\D\4\K;c:\dp\W\D\4\L;c:\dp\W\D\4\M;c:\dp\W\D\4\P;c:\dp\W\D\4;c:\dp\W\D\5;c:\dp\W\D\6;c:\dp\W\D\7;c:\dp\W\D\8;c:\dp\W\D\9;c:\dp\W\D\A;c:\dp\W\D\B;c:\dp\W\D\C\C;c:\dp\W\D\C;c:\dp\W\D\D\B;c:\dp\W\D\D;c:\dp\W\D\E\B;c:\dp\W\D\E\C;c:\dp\W\D\E;c:\dp\W\D;c:\dp\W\E\1;c:\dp\W\E\2;c:\dp\W\E\3;c:\dp\W\E\4;c:\dp\W\E\5;c:\dp\W\E\6\Win2kXP;c:\dp\W\E\6;c:\dp\W\E\7;c:\dp\W\E\8\ndis5;c:\dp\W\E\8\ndis51;c:\dp\W\E\8;c:\dp\W\E\9\winxp;c:\dp\W\E\9;c:\dp\W\E\A;c:\dp\W\E\B;c:\dp\W\E\C;c:\dp\W\E\D;c:\dp\W\E\E;c:\dp\W\E\F;c:\dp\W\E\G;c:\dp\W\E\H;c:\dp\W\E\I;c:\dp\W\E\J;c:\dp\W\E;c:\dp\W\EN\1;c:\dp\W\EN\2;c:\dp\W\EN;c:\dp\W\I\1;c:\dp\W\I\2\WIN2K_XP;c:\dp\W\I\2;c:\dp\W\I\3;c:\dp\W\I\4;c:\dp\W\I\ 9. typo on txtsetup.sif instead of a hp... should be hp....sys
  10. have no idea whats going on here after i copied everything(all compressed drivers to i386 i still get same error on ahp3xx.sys whats going on here? any ideas?
  11. ok either i am doing something wrong here or some bug now im getting same error on mraid35x.sys ok im going to search for *.sy_ and copy them all to my i386 and see whats up
  12. ok it wasnt in the i386 folder i copied it and then got same error for the dac960nt.sys will copy it too and check again
  13. using latest version with massstorage pack alone and getting: aliide.sys cannot be found in text setup i looked at ForceCopyDriverCabFiles in dosnet.inf and its there so i dont know what i am supposed to do exactly? the driver is not in the i386 directory
  14. nlite sucks with drivers and someone already beat me to it www.balder.ms/multiboot works great all features
  15. hi correct me if im wrong but there is no script yet that can take any mass storage driver(no matter where it comes from) and slipstream it to a i386 directory so it will work for sure i had an idea to maybe try to make one that will do this( for start) 1.scan a folder (with subfolders) of drivers(mass storage i dont care about others) pick the inf files only and scan them. 2.extract the needed spaces from them(scsiload, hardware id and all that). 3.insert those fields into a text file( and check that they dont exist before entering them). 4.compress drivers(all .sys files) to another directory. 5.write the drivers info from step 3 into txtsetup.sif or other file) what do you think? is it worth the try? or too complicated?
  16. ok found the answer it doesnt apply to HIVESFT.INF because the limititation in 2000 and xp was for the entire OemPNPDriversPath value to the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DevicePath so if its there it can go up from 4096 or whatever you want. check Q276278 the limitation for 2000 after a hotfix(in sp2) is 1023 characters from sp3 its 2048:) xp is 4096 as i said using HIVESFT.INF avoids this limitation so we have nothing to worry:)
  17. i wonder if this limitation of oempnppath stands for the registry file: HIVESFT.INF
  18. i didnt have this problem with formating raid but i used asus driver disk and it gave me the exact same thing"cant copy driver...." i quit setup integrated the drivers into my iso burned it and ran setup again with patched cd and it worked fine it was with via raid drivers
  19. just wanted to add that i use the decompresing method also (i compress all your driver packs into one exe file and run it as detahced from cd,this way it doesnt get copied to h.d. in setup) i use about 300-400mb of drivers and windows doesnt start the setup(hardware detection)untill this process is finished so theres no worries about slow machines decompressing the files slowly
  20. hi does anybody here have the registry tweaks that were posted after sp2 was released in order to disable sp2 internet explorer settings and restrictions? thanks in advance amir
  21. not sure but it could be vmware's fault since i upgraded to vmware 5.o beta
  22. well the full install 4.6mb should run with /S switch i run the taskkill to kill the ypager.exe from starting TASKKILL /F /IM ypager.exe whats weird is the new builds collapse when running the /S switch have to investigate some more on this
  23. what file are you using? what size? and from where? are you using /S install cause i used to download the web install that downloads the full install to C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Installsi took the file from there and it used to work its size is: 4653 when i use the /S with it it seems to install but at the end when launching the mesenger it crashes i mean build 1921
