  1. hi i know its alittle silly but still im interested to know is there a list of supported comments that you can use with winrar? thanks in advance for any advice
  2. can i just ask one question:) how did you make this installer ryan:)?
  3. well hate to disapoint you guys and nothing im going to say now its new BUT this and other tools are good for editing and customizations and snapshots BUT the only disadvantage is it is not good for programs that update themself like spysweeper and others because it will prompt you for the msi file thinking the program needs repair because the files have changed and when your using your cd/dvd on another computer that doesnt have the source files this could be a problem for programs like those i use installright
  4. i havent found a solution to this yet except using installright(snapshot) anyway just wanted to tell you that this new version slowed my computer seriously (when all shields enabled) so i had to uninstall it and use 3.2 version(all shields enabled) beware
  5. thanks man really quick and really helpfull can always count on the pro here to land a hand:) thats probabaly my mistake before cause i did use devicepath and it scaned the other directory too and added it to pnpoem... so i guess thats why it didnt install:) thanks again man ill change it right now by the way X800 rocks:)
  6. hi first of all thanks for your reply listen i am almost sure i did that and it didnt work by the way look at the other folder under C:\ATI\SUPPORT\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-082-041130a-019577c\Driver\2KXP_INF (B_19654) all files there are compressed and only one sys file, also compressed) you sure this works for you? with the compressed files? thanks again
  7. hi guys simple question just need simple answer my dvd autodetects nvidia and ati cards by oempnp... and the right drivers now untill now i thought its working great:)because i had nvidia cards and it detected them great by simple taking the driver files and right entries in winnt.sif . now with ati i tried to do this and it didnt work: i extracted the driver and took this folder >>> C:\ATI\SUPPORT\wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-082-041130a-019577c\WDM\WDM_XP now i started investigating and saw that this inf is for Win98/Win2000 (which makes what was said here in the forum by some post to be wrong) now my question is this, has anyone made it work with ati ? and what folder did you take from this driver package??(and dont tell me to look at ati silent install, cause thats not what i want,i want to install driver only and only if xp needs it,it might need nvidia if i install this dvd on another pc) thanks in advance for any quick advice
  8. i dont get it when you do this from remote computer start>>run>>cmd>>> telnet ftpserverip 21 does it answer? if it answers then its filesystem or ftp permission problem if it doesnt answer then its networking problem what is your exact configuration(firewall,router,nat....)?
  9. heres my winnt.sif check it out: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=yes [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes Repartition=No OemPreinstall=Yes UnattendSwitch="yes" WaitForReboot="No" TargetPath=\WINDOWS DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore [GuiUnattended] DetachedProgram=".\system32\cmd.exe" Arguments="/C START /MIN FOR %I IN (D: E: F: G: H:) DO (IF EXIST %I\$OEM$\DRIVERZ\PRESETUP.CMD (%I\$OEM$\DRIVERZ\presetup.CMD) ELSE (FOR /D %J IN (%I\*) DO (IF EXIST %J\$OEM$\DRIVERZ\presetup.CMD (%J\$OEM$\DRIVERZ\presetup.CMD))))" AdminPassword="********" EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=135 OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] ProductKey=*****-*****-*****-*****-***** FullName="**" OrgName="" ComputerName=* [RegionalSettings] InputLocale_DefaultUser=00000409:00000409 UserLocale_DefaultUser=00000409 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=MSHOME [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [WindowsFirewall] Profiles = WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode = 0 [IEPopupBlocker] AllowedSites=v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com;windowsupdate.microsoft.com BlockPopups=Yes FilterLevel=High ShowInformationBar=Yes [Components] msmsgs=on msnexplr=off [Shell] DefaultStartPanelOff = Yes CustomDefaultThemeFile="%Systemroot%\Resources\Themes\royale.theme" [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 Vrefresh = 85 Xresolution = 1024 Yresolution = 768 [PCHealth] ER_Display_UI = 0 RA_AllowToGetHelp = 0 [GuiRunOnce] Command0="c:\driverz\s\Sound_Control_Panels.cmd" Added CODE tags
  10. i use the devicepath with sp no problem at all with all driver packs
  11. Bâshrat the Sneaky i read your post and i was wondering to myself ...."can i correct him if he is right too?" just kidding i am just missing your driverpack:)
  12. does anybody know ,why exactly do i need the catalog files for these hotfixes? cause i install them without putting anything in [ProductCatalogsToInstall] and it works out fine
  13. were mising you here man:) i am hungry for drivers:) but not just drivers,i am used to driverpacks:) again like ajunky cant go down to regular drivers:)
  14. ok im back what i wanted to disable was the fact that users get prompt for password when the computer gets into standby an disable hibernation so this is what i did: powercfg.exe /GLOBALPOWERFLAG off /option RESUMEPASSWORD powercfg.exe /HIBERNATE off for those of you that want to mess with the policy itself(the scheme) you can use the same util to make your own(or change the built-in one) youll need to do it in cmdlines calling the reg file for your predefined scheme(or custom) you can use powercfg to export import set actibe and all the other things pretty cool
  15. hey guys i think i got it will update later in general we need to make sure the regedit runs on default user(before login) cmdlines.txt we had a custom power management scheme (no.6,you 1-5 default) add the custom to the default user and then change the current to 6 will update later by the way check powercfg.exe in system32
  16. not that im bringing any good news or new news:) but i just tried to install with the audiopack on asus p4s800mx board(it has the soundmax) and got same thing blue screen twice last week i tried the same on asus p4v800x and got blue screen once but after restart it kep going. anyway i disabled the audio in bios and setup continued. (the blue screen is on the same file) so whats new about that you ask? well not much:) after windows setup finished i enabled the sound and right clicking the unknown to update driver ,i gave it source location on asus cd.i noticed the driver that came back first in list was realteck something and only after that came soundmax with 4 versions. so my conclusion is its something with the realteck and soundmax either conflict or it is too much for windows to decide what to install and it installs the wrong driver:) anyway waiting for updates to test them by the way great work on the driverpacks, speechless:)(almost) one thing i forgot to mention is i am running latest version of the bios for this motherboard
  17. i tried this also the msi version i think works if u run it in guirunonce or runoncexec but my goal is to run it in svcpack.inf when i try to run it this was with /q:a /r:n i get same windows media player 10 warning(10 is installed before this update in silent mode) does anybody remeber the iexpress silent method for media player 10? i cant find this post
  18. man im waiting for these packs like a drug addict:) you made me nuts Bâshrat the Sneaky:) (or maybe i was nuts in the first place, most chances i was:)) anyway thanks again
  19. did anyone figured out how to unattend this optional update? the file itself is called: wmfdist95.exe running it with /Q:A /R:N from svcpack.inf doesnt install it and in gui(after install) same thing any ideas? i ment this: windows media connect update
  20. waiting patiently as always thanks for all your efforts with these packs
  21. yes i have 2 computers both asus boards one uses viaraid.sys the other uses viasraid.sys i checked the device id's and its the same as viamraid so does that mean i have to add those drivers too to windows(txtsetup.sif,\i386 and driverz.exe) or just use the viamraid(or any other driver from via with same device id) i dont think windows is that smart to "know" what the right and optimal driver is for every controller if it has multiple drivers with same device id
  22. hi i am wondering about something just wanna hear some more ideas lets say i have two raid controllers from via(viasraid and viaraid) these two drivers have the same hardware id's(in the inf) can i use one of the drivers to install both controllers?????????????? are these device id's unique?????????(no two can be the same)????????????? should i use both drivers and their winntsif entries????????? how will windows xp know to load the right driver if it has the same hardware id's for both????????????? thanks in advance any thought would be appreciated
  23. update bios to the latest version before installing xp
