  1. Any pre built complete install cd of this with all additions installed. Really need it as mdgx page has way too many installs to even start to do this, given that each install will need a restart. A clean fresh install of 98se with all additions, fixes and others etc installed before running to make setup cd for that. Please no settings tweaks or settings adjusted for this unless is on mdgx list of files. Link your file here or a place where a cd setup resides for this. Sorry Mdgx but there is way to many and your site needs a simpler way to do this in minutes not hours. Though thanks for sharing with us even though not yet perfect for quick making of 98se - me setup install disk or even live cd.
  2. Thanks -x- nice page you have there will grab them for nlite install as you say Shame strel hasn't updated in a while. Maybe someone knows him and can get him to agree ok to carry on, that is after he has posted ok here ok to so. Would be nice for update since .net is ongoing and we need this script updating just as much. How about we do an alternative version but is really an update for later as now for newer .net installs.
  3. Have many DotNetFx installs from 1.1 to 4.0. Would like to throw out what isn't needed and keep what is in AIO installer. I have modifies the ini for using 3530=YES the others for that part are = only. And have downloaded four hotfixes and they apply now so cmd.exe continues without stopping. OS used for this is xp sp3, so i assume that the installer will have everything from all DotNetFx installs i placed in the synth directory. When run would install everything needed to for 1.1 to 3.5.30 DotNetFx installs so all applications that need them will not complain. I wonder about two things i have never installed hotfixes since sp1. Only hotfixes applied are those from likes of SP3 install, directx and DoNetFx. I assume would be good to apply many more, is there a location i can download all these from. That is download all for a download manager to grab them in one go. Not so interested on sitting at microsoft all day to to this manualy. Just as i was never interested to sit all day at microsoft online updates, to find like many it fails for one reason or another and more hotfixes needed to fix the ones that fail. Dowanloading all at once location for hotfixes that are original unmodified microsoft hotfix updates. Which is the bestter package to allow DotNetFx to be taken from, i assume 3.5.30 since would be more complete updated than v2.0 itself. Or is v2.0 the best one to use ? (When i used v3.5.30 it ouput file for 30SP2 ? I used v3.5.30 not v3.0 and os i have is SP3 not SP2 would like installer for SP3 since XP SP2 is a problem os compared to XP SP3) What of DotNetFx v4 can snms handle this package as yet. Have had v4 for a while now, or is there a problem with it as to why it is not available to use use in snms ? Additional upated comments in brackets ( as above )

    One Question

Does using this mean for some operations it will not work without having user passwords set. I ask because i hate to have ever any passwords set. The same reason i hate .NET. I ask because i look at your site and see pictures of pc user password needed possibly to continue.
  5. Use a vpc will then be fast and easy. When think ok test by burning as previously did.
  6. Unofficial to have only the unpackers of the installers that UE can never have included. Maybe it will need to be hosted on another forum and site, a reliable site. Everyone build for one version not multiple different ones. Having newer versions more often. With a final relase version more often, so no beta testing forever. ...I'm not a coder i'm just thinking out aloud for an unofficial version to be scripted/coded.
  7. Unofficial version (only one unofficial version to exist ever, so we all keep track of it) A version that has all extras that cannot be included in UE official version. There are many things that UE official cannot have included, which would improve UE extracting of other installers. Nitro - delete this if out of context or bad for UE future.
  8. What are the better tools that can identify archives. We have one or two in ue but i'm needing more. I need to know of the custom packers as above for m$ visual c++ to many of these reports. All archives are custom until you know who they are, then find sollution to unpack them. Please list with urls (if poss) all the archive id softwares that know all and the ones that know the exotic ones used on win32. Nitro don't give up Uniextractor, please keep it updated with new unpackers and more.
  9. Which software in dos alows to copy whole partition with no gb limitation, and save it as an iso image. I will be copying the windows os and boot drive c: partition. Anyone know ?
  10. Nice post and locations there Inferi0r Nitro can you get ones that are missing, into UniExtractor.
  11. Nitro at least you ironed out some of them, and have some test files for the others not yet able to do. I will keep looking through my different pc's for those installer and other packed archives. That don't unpack with UniExtractor lastest two versions. We can all make Universal Extractor more than it's current version is. Just by posting a link here to those don't don't extract. The tip for not deleting temporary files i did not know, i prefer no temporary files kept. For the archives and installers that need this, could this be automated by UniExtractor in the background. After extractor returning to the last user chosen setting, for deleting or not deleting temporary files. I use UniExtractor only with right mouse click menu (desktop integration). Sometimes there is a option for identify the file, this never seems to work. Even on known file that can be extracted. Is there plans for this option to be available for any file type known, for files with or without an extension.
  12. Yeah, I can use most Total Commander plugins (thanks to cmdTotal), but I still need formats to test with. I need to verify that TrID can properly detect the formats, know which labels it uses for the formats, know what extensions the files use, and then figure out the proper syntax for the extraction tools, including any special workarounds that I may have to add. I can't do any of that without test files. I currently have about 3 GB worth of test files that I use to make sure UniExtract bahaves properly, but not one Amiga format file is included. If you could get may, say, two examples of each format that you want supported, that'd be a huge help. Will take a while, there are many compressors on the amiga os. I will do or get, two different files for each compressor. The main compressor variants will be easy enough to locate for you. For the many remaining, i will make new compressed archives, for you to test. I'll look into adding virus scanning support, but it almost certainly won't be this complex. Probably the best I could do would be to add the option to scan the file as a whole before extraction begins, and/or scan all of the extracted files after extraction is complete. Even that is a big maybe at this point, as I don't use A/V software myself and only have experience with just a couple of engines. I'll see what I can do, but don't get your hopes up too high. :-) Scan the file whole before extraction begins, then automaticaly quiting. Before any unpacking commences, before moving to the next installer file. That does sound, a good way to implementing this. [body bits crossed in anticipation ]
  13. That's a very interesting idea. I won't be able to do that for v1.6, but I'll certainly keep it in mind for a future version. Nitro this is the best news i heard in a very long time for added pc protection. If it is possible for on the fly looking at installer achive contents. Without unpacking them at all, like how the a/v and other tools do it now for .zip and .rar files. I can at the moment easily check with an a/v software. A 10gb rar file without it being unpacked in memory or hard drive on the fly. Do you know yet how that can be done with UniExtractor or something to look more into, to do it.
  14. Someone had actually posted a request for Amiga formats on my forum. I'd be happy to add support, but in order to do so I need two things: a utility to decode/extract the files sample files to test I think I've already found something to do the extracting, but I have no sample files to work with. If you can make some available, I'll test this out and see if I can get it included in the 1.6 final release. A good idea, one that could be useful, if can be achieved for all Amiga compression formats. A link was posted on your forum to the Total Commander other site. I Have not tried this software for a very long time. It would not as remember, let me save a custom prefered gui layout. Correct at the time, most likely fixed long, long ago. Do you use Total Commander clients in UniExtractor. Or is that the reason for needing decode/extract tools. Should i first check which ones Total Commander can do now. And concentrate collecting the ones Total Commander hasn't got listed. Files for any of the could be easily made up for you to test with. Or Nitro you could get an Amiga emulator running on your pc, using WinUAE or other emulator. Aminet is a huge and wonderful Amiga resource. XAD, XFD and XPKMaster Homepage, one worth looking at. These can decrunch on the amiga nearly every known amiga compression. These for me are the best utilities i think the amiga had, i like to decrunch and have a nosey around. Together with WHDLoad buts this is another application genre altogether.
  15. These are seen as .zip files in v1.6b and fail to extract. Tested in v1.5 all unpack correctly. 16. Thanks for your comments Nitro. I will install again the latest v1.6beta, put it in a custom location folder. That leaves the v1.5 installed and working, until v1.6 is ok. Sure i will get you the urls, to the files you need to test with. XAD, XFD, XPK are Amiga unpackers of many formats on that os. They are similar to Universal extract in useage. And i love each and every one of them. I like to have access and unpack ability for any installer or packed file, no matter what it is. I hope there could never be an installer or packer, that could never be extracted. Is there a way to link Universal Extractor into virus checkers, spy, add and other malware tools in future this would be a bonus. It would that be great for those tools to intergrate with Universal Extractor on the fly. If possible to look into each file without having to decompress each installer/packed file first. This is how xfd was first born into the Amiga community. Though i also love to unpack installers to install only un-bloated programme's if the bloat is not needed. For checking for virus, malware and other parasites. There are many times i need just a driver, codec or other update, without having to install the application to get it. Allows more control of the pc that i am using, to what gets installed.
  17. I doubt it can be supported. These installers are programs, pure and simple, nothing to unpack. They may contain a script of some sort that can be interpreted, but I doubt anything short of disassembly would do the trick. Ver Universal Extractor relies on PEiD, Trid and possibly others to parse each file for identification. It is these tools that do not know, what the unistaller package is. Though i have tried old and new varieties of this type of installer. Each time report back as v4 v5 or v6. It could say XUYOZ v5.00 or other title. Make no difference, as either identified wrongly or is an unknown install package. Maybe then this is the ultimate installer package for now, one that no one can uncompress manualy. This is the coders dream i would have thought, to have an installer secured from public gaze. More over a nightmare for us installers of that package, with bloatware or even nasty bugs to contend with.
  18. Hi nitro322, Just love using, Universal Extractor. Besides others like xfd, xad and more (platform dependant). 1. Inno and nullsoft installers, possibly more besides. Beta v1.6 tries to extract them wrongly as a zip package, then fails. 2. I noticed for a long time, files that are installers, Universal Extractor all versions reports as below. Microsoft Visual C++ v6.0 [Overlay] Microsoft Visual C++ v5.0 [Overlay] Microsoft Visual C++ v4.0 [Overlay] test file = SUPER Unusual for this type of package also to have upx outer pack shell. The inside packed software reports itself as Microsoft Visual C++ v4.0 [Overlay]. I have come across many installers that say the above when trying to extract. Does Universal Extractor support these or planned to support this type of installer.
