This link that you posted ... which worked for me at that time, doesn't seem to work anymore. I keep getting the message: Server not found Pale Moon can't find the server at addons-legacy.palemoon.org. I waited a few days, in case it might start to work again but just keep getting the same message. I recently started using Basilisk52-g4.8 Win32 and would like to add 'Toggle JavaScript (Enabled/Disabled) 1.2.2.010' to that browser. I've searched around looking for another link ... also tried the Wayback Machine but nothing to be found. Do you think PaleMoon maybe killed the link? If you have any suggestions ... ? ...

AS ... thanks for the input. I just mentioned the older version of ZA as another 'option' for the OP to consider ... or anyone still on Windows XP. I downloaded four or five other firewalls that also worked with XP many years ago. That was 'just in case' one day the ZA version I was using started to give me problems or didn't work anymore. Happy to say that has never happened so far ... everything seems to be OK. ...

Just a small add to my last post on ZoneAlarm 4.5.594.000. I was sure it was the very last ZA version that was only a firewall but I had to search around to be sure since it was over 15 years that I had been using it ... starting with Windows 98SE. I still use an older version of Zone Alarm ... when it was still just a 'firewall' and nothing else. It is a small download and the free version was very good and easy to set up. It does all the work and then after using it a few times it will know from your input what to do. I have the Pro version on my XP computers now (last 10 yrs or so) but for years the 'free' version was all I needed. The Pro version is really not needed, I just decided to bump up. This was all before Zone Alarm started adding items to their firewall and messed everything up. I have tried several other XP versions of various firewalls over the last eight years or so but ZoneAlarm 4.5.594.0 is still the easiest to use and understand. Hi Mathwiz ... thanks for the additional information. I did find Notepad++ v5.8.6. I have never used a text editor very much, only a few times many years ago trying to do something or some project. I plan to practice with some .rdf files just to be more familiar using a text editor. I have MS Wordpad but have really never used it much. I will spend some time with it also. Thanks ...

OK ... I will hunt that up and download to have on hand for the 'next time' I need a text editor. I have a correction to make in my last post. I actually knew about that UA switcher download page three years ago or more. I had forgot that I had used that page to add User Agent Switcher 0.7.3 to New Moon 28. If I had looked in my NM 28 folder earlier today I would have noticed my User Agent notes from several years back ... but it all worked out and maybe that above link will be helpful to someone else. ...

As I thought earlier, had trouble with a few UA steps. Had to search for a text editor for XP. First one I downloaded didn't work and the second one did install but seems complicated to me. However, about 15 minutes ago while searching for a User Agent Switcher 0.7.3 download, I finally found a web page that installed the extension into Mypal. The first two pages said I needed to install Firefox but this web page worked with Mypal and installed User Agent Switcher 0.7.3 ... so all is 100% OK for now with Mypal. Really happy to have that that button there. I have not done the User Agent fix yet ... that's next, it may be a little more complicated but I will go one step at a time. I have been using NM 28 mostly but decided to download and install the portable version of Mypal 29.3.0 last week to try. So far I like it for Win XP but I would like to be able to turn JavaScript on an off as I need it. I can do this in NM 28 using Toggle JavaScript 1.2.2.010 but can't get it installed in Mypal. Mypal is set for 'Firefox Compatibility' but the one FF add-ons web page says I need to install Firefox ... NM 28 didn't have this problem which is where I think I got the Toggle JavaScript 1.2.2.010 download years ago for that browser. Is there a switch program that I can use on Mypal to easily turn JS on and off? Also, I use User Agent Switcher 0.7.3 on NM 28 to easily have some different user agents to use. I can't seem to get that added to Mypal. Is there a UA program add available that I can use on Mypal? I have everything else fixed as I do on NM28 and I like the browser so far as another WinXP browser but a JavaScript and User Agent addition would be nice. Thanks ... Monroe

I am reading this today ... an article dated yesterday (March 22) in a CA Newsletter. I don't use Windows 10 but is this article actually true? OK, I downloaded the latest version CPU-Z 1.95 that you mention and it does work showing the core speed varying. I tried a few newer versions after CPU-Z v1.72.1 back in 2015 and the Core Speed didn't change anymore for me so I stopped trying any newer versions ... just decided to stay with the older version. Glad you mentioned all this so I will update to CPU-Z 1.95. The only difference I see so far and it's trivial ... I do get a little more information under the Graphics tab with CPU-Z v1.72.1 and less information with version CPU-Z 1.95. With v1.72.1, I get a GPU Name (ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500) and with CPU-Z 1.95 I have no information in the GPU Name space. That really doesn't matter since I know that information anyway. Also, I noticed the Core Speed readings in CPU-Z v1.72 seem to be a little more sensitive. For instance I get constant fluctuating readings with fractions ... 598.15, 598.16, 598.18 MHz and so forth. With CPU-Z 1.95 it just stays at 598.00 MHz ... no fractions or tenths in jumps to 1794.00 MHz. So I guess there are some slight differences in various versions. I may keep the CPU-Z v1.72 version but still put the newer CPU-Z 1.95 version on my computer to have available. Since they are both portable and don't take up much space, it really doesn't matter much. Besides there may be more differences that I have not discovered yet. Thanks for the reply. ...

This information may only be for my Windows XP setup. I am and have been using CPU-Z v1.72.1 (February 27th, 2015) on my XP setup because it shows the Core Speed in actual time adjusting to any use of the CPU. I just tried the newer 'Vintage Edition' and I get no 'real time' CPU readings ... the Core Speed just reports or stays at the top speed 1794.00 MHz ... no fluctuation with the CPU at rest. Dave, I tried both CPU-Z v1.76 and CPU-Z Windows 98, v1.76 and I do not get a true Core Speed reading at all and there is no movement of the Core Speed number. This version reports my Core Speed as 2400.00 MHz which is not accurate for my setup. Using CPU-Z v1.72.1 ... I do get Core Speed readings from 598.00 MHz to 1794.00 MHz. I had tried some of the 'newer' versions years ago and decided to stay with CPU-Z v1.72.1 because I like the 'active' Core Speed reading and all the other information seems to match what the slightly newer versions say. Seems like this version is 'actively involved' in my XP setup. As I said earlier this information may only be for my Windows XP setup ... those newer versions may work better on another Windows XP setup and a person may not care about actual Core Speed real time readings. I'd be interested in what others have for Core Speed readings on their setup with these newer versions mentioned earlier and then try the CPU-Z v1.72.1 slightly older version. I only use the portable ZIP versions. CPU-Z v1.72.1 ... in my case, is the last actual version showing fluctuating Core Speed readings. Older version downloads are still at the website. ...

Mr.Scienceman2000 ... I just checked the version that I downloaded from that link. It does appear to be a different version. When I right click on the download and then hit the Properties / Version tab ... I am getting this version number 12.2.2.7098. I've had that happen before after downloading a program that is supposed to be the version I'm after and then it's not that version. This is the download name ... 'cispremium_only_installer'. OK ... yesterday I removed ZAlarm and tried these two firewalls ... PC Tools Firewall Plus 7.0.0.123 and the Comodo firewall/internet security suite 6818. The PC Tools Firewall Plus 7.0.0.123 was good, seemed to be a very good firewall for Win XP. I didn't notice really too much difference between it and the ZA version I have been using. The layout is nice, maybe a little nicer and it seems to work OK on my computer with the VPN. The Comodo firewall/internet security 6818 version would not install on my XP setup. A window popped up saying this version was not for Windows XP but only for Windows 7 and higher. As I said earlier, the PC Tools FW was good but I decided to just stick with the ZA version I have been using. I had got the Pro version years ago and it seems to still be OK with my XP setup. I didn't see much difference between the two. They both do the same job very well. ...

That was a fast reply ... yes, when I would be at the library or McDonalds I was never too comfortable when on the WiFi but I live in a country type area and not around a large area where people might be looking and searching for information. Yes, I just got the file downloaded ... I may have had the dot included before as RainyShadow suggested. I didn't have any problems this time. I will work with the Comodo Firewall and see how it works. I want to also try PC Tools Firewall Plus 7.0.0.123 as I mentioned earlier. I haven't done anything yet however as I have been working with the Zone Alarm version that I have had on my computer for years. This version ... ZA v4.5.594.000 seems to be just fine working with the VPN I now have. I have almost had the VPN service for a month now and ZA and the VPN seem to be working OK together. I have run some leak tests at various times and everything appears to be fine. However, one these days soon I will remove ZA and try the Comodo FW and the PC Tools FW. I am curious how they work. I have a backup so I can get my setup with ZA back up in a hurry ... or I may decide to change the FW to one of the other two. I didn't know too much about a VPN and I have really spent some time reading on VPNs and firewalls, various leak tests, IP address testing. Everything seems to be OK so far since I am still using Windows XP. I should have had this setup years ago with going to different places with 'free WiFi' ... I guess I was lucky not to have any problems.

Tangy ... thanks for posting about PC Tools Firewall Plus v7.0.0.123. I had never heard of this firewall and it looks very interesting. I have downloaded it and also searched around for more information on it. You really have to be careful with some of these sites that offer downloads. I downloaded PC Tools Firewall Plus v7.0.0.123 from one site but when I checked the download it was not the correct version. This site does have the correct version if anyone is interested. They also list many other firewalls that can be downloaded to try. Many I have never heard of. Yes, that is strange with two identical XP setups ... one with the errors and one installs OK. I also have two identical ThinkPad T42 XP setups and a few programs install slightly different on each T42. I have been looking into some 'older clean' Comodo Firewall downloads and keep running into the '404 Not Found' message. However, I stated earlier that I am using an older version of ZoneAlarm that seems to be just fine for my XP setup. Years ago there was much discussion about ZA v4.5.594.000 being a very good version for Win XP. As newer ZA versions were released ... many people decided to stay with v4.5.594.000, myself included ... it was a plain simple firewall that just worked, I think I had it on my Win 98SE setup before going to WinXP. I recently signed up with a VPN service and after two weeks or so ... both the VPN and ZA seem to be working together. I may have to change a few settings in ZA but not sure at this point of time. I have run some IP tests and DNS Leak tests. Everything seems to working OK for now. This company provides a firewall with their VPN service but it only works with Windows 7 and above. They never had a firewall that worked with Win XP but luckily the ZA Firewall seems to be comparable and working with the VPN. Some of the older versions of Comodo FW must have not worked very well with a VPN ... this version I was looking for since it did indicate a VPN fix but I am no longer searching for it. COMODO Firewall Pro 3.0.14.276 FIXED! VPN Clients can now connect to VPN servers while CFP is installed ... there were a lot of 'fixes' in that version so any Comodo versions before that might not be good to have on the computer. So ZA v4.5.594.000 looks OK at this point. ...

Well I was at that website and saw the message about 'bundled software' and decided to pass. I was hoping to find the version that Comodo might have had available in 2019. Maybe all their free software has ads bundled in also. I'm a little confused on that ... the download size seems to be OK. I have downloaded it to check out. There was some mention at another website that the Comodo firewall free software was bloated. I found some of those comments ... "theres really no reason for anyone to install the bloated mess that Comodo became." "Stopped using this some time ago now...bloated and full of things i got sick of turning off every time i installed it. Now i pay for a firewall thats just a firewall, which is what this USED to be..." So I don't know ... anyone here use this firewall with Win XP?
