  1. I think that's a Windows XP Pro integrated component, i don't think it'll work on Home, but you can give it a try, I do not know if it is allowed to post parts of window's software.
  2. You're supposed to put BOOTFIX.BIN into BOOT folder.
  3. You should try batches to strip some unneeded XP components off. Jdeboeck's batchs You should also try gosh's reducing size. Gosh's reducing I do not really understand that SP1 and Systemworks would take up space, perhaps you didn't clean off unneeded software in the systemworks folder.
  4. http://www.gracenote.com/ Scroll to the bottom and input the info of the artist. HTH
  5. I still havn't got mine, everytime I ordered, it showed "Issue with Order" and I didn't know what to do...been a month now.
  6. For people who are using NAV 2003 or 04 and want to turn off the "Norton Protected Recycle Bin" and return the standard recycle bin during Unattended Install. Enter the below into StandardRecycleBin.reg and put it in RunoncEX or Batch cmd Hope this helps.
  7. Read Applications that use Quotations. But you're better off lauching it in a cmd window for simplicity. Re-download the patch, Microsoft released a revised version on October 29th 2003.I downloaded that update in january, so I'm sure it has nothing to do with it. I never did understand that quotations part. But would it be REG ADD %KEY%\65 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE /C:\"dahotfix.exe /q /n\" /q" /f ??? Can you confirm that without me having to test it ? (60mb ram test computer takes hours to install xp on.)
  8. what switch are u using for mdac? and how are u using it in runonceex? maybe u made a mistake when putting quotation marks... REG ADD %KEY%\65 /VE /D "MDAC Patch" /f REG ADD %KEY%\65 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE /C:"dahotfix.exe /q /n" /q" /f Also, REG ADD %KEY%\45 /VE /D "KB828035 Patch" /f REG ADD %KEY%\45 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Applications\PreSP2hotfixes\KB828035.exe /Q /N /Z" /f Does not work for me(shows up as a windows critical patch on windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
  9. I don't know why, but using runonceex I can't install MDAC, but using it to linking the cmd command works..
  10. Well, currently, I have Norton internet security 2003 on my unattended cd, but when I boot up (after runonceex and on the desktop) it gives me an error, saying "Microsoft Visual C++ RunTime Library"(Title of prompt) and in the message area, it says The thing is, this prompt managed to stop the shutdown/reboot command. Is there a way I could kill it off safely and guarenteed? Thanks in advance.
  11. Found my solution. Thanks.
  12. I am currently using ;Search with google [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl\Ggl] @="http://www.google.com/search?q=%s" ;Search with google from the address bar instead of MSN [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl\G] @="http://www.google.com/search?q=%s" I want it to set itself as default to search when you type it in the Address Bar of IE, How can I do this? Also, I want to be able to search www.dictionary.com and thesaurus.com without the toolbar that you need to download from these sites. How can I accomplish this?
  13. I am incorporating the RealOne player v2 to my setupcd, I was wondering if there's a way to incorporate my login data and my installer settings(like make your own custom install and whatnot). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  14. Hmm. then I guess I ought to not do it.
  15. Hi, I want to install Installing NIS and NSW 2003 together, however, in their default installation, Both of which install NAV. Is there a way I can get it to "slipstream" and take NAV off of one of these packages? Because I need to strip about 30mbs of space and this'll do. Or is there core files I can keep and others I wont need? Thanks. Someone's got to know this.
  16. how do I accomplish this? What switch do i use? I looked for a full installer, not a web-downloader... thanks. (no firebird or whatever comments, please) nvm. I saw the "Note: Internet Explorer 6 SP1 is included with Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). If Windows XP SP1 is installed on your computer, you do not need to download and install Internet Explorer 6 SP1."
  17. Also, it says the file pcmcia.sys is corrupted, what can I do about it?
  18. If it won't, it's probably you using the wrong cdkey, or using it on the wrong type of xp. :/
  19. I have a question, be it dumb or simple...but at the end of this guide(Your website's), 1. And if I use your way, is Winxp still complete as it was before the size reducing? 2. Can I use the Original Windows XP Installation(blue screen and intro) installer to install xp? And if so, how do I do it? 3. Can I not use the DISKEMU.exe installer? And use Setup.exe or whatever is default? Because I tried using the default and it wouldnt work. 4. After this way of reducing, can I still remove some components such as IIS Server, WMP and Windows media from the cd? Thanks so much.
  20. Ok, in the replace window of Hexworks, it will not let me type the "i" of "i386" in. I tried copying and pasting, doesnt work. However, I can type letters, or all numbers..any ideas?
  21. I just add my fav. wallpaper(s) to \$oem$\$$\Web\Wallpaper\ in .bmp format, then use a couple of reg. hacks to make it the default, i.e.: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "ConvertedWallpaper"="C:\\WINDOWS\\Web\\Wallpaper\\Windows XP.jpg" "Wallpaper"="C:\\WINDOWS\\Web\\Wallpaper\\Windows XP.bmp" Works like a charm Does this work with roots that aren't even c? Or can I use some dynamic route like %systemdrive%? Can you please suggest to me easy ways to do it? thanks.
