  1. Welcome to yet another Canadian...
  2. Computer management/ Local users and groups is only available under XP Pro, not home, safe mode is the only other way you can access it in Home
  3. ooops... Duh...!!! of course...
  4. Must just be the high end HiFi and AV equipment i was after then...i'll stick to other online stores, besides the other problem i have found is the seller logging in as another user and outbidding... that's a favorite...
  5. I hate to say it but every item i ever bid on i got one of those emails... so i don't bother anymore, most times your not saving much money anyhow...the onle people making money are ebay....
  6. here is the link to MS remote software to allow older os's to connect to XP http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...rdclientdl.mspx or use UltraVNC www.ultravnc.com
  7. Try going into safe mode, see if it's listed there
  8. Thanks, i had forgotten to remove them....fixed now
  9. just slipstreamed using method 2 and 5073, all appears to work well but my winnt.sif file is replaced by one created by the d/Pack
  10. I couldn't have said that better myself, i would like to add that some of the errors are being introduced by the users not starting with virgin XP slipstreams, clean driverpack base files or those already using Nlite, Ryans pack etc and admittedly if all of these togeather worked then creating a fully updated "pimped" UWXPCD would be simplicity itself, however, that's not the case right now. I myself stopped trying to integrate Ryans pack as it would always cause me errors I have had a successful Multiboot UWXPCD with $oem$ folder included for some time until the last build i did using nlite to slipstream hotfixes to the svcpack folder, now the Realtek HD and the intel pro 10/100 drivers do not install, i believe the 10/100 driver got corrupted somehow and i realised that as i build multiboot cd's that the Realtek hd files had not beed copied to the route of the OS folder and had been left in the i386 folder, consequently they were not found. (Bashrat, that should answer the question regarding the problems i reported, i will confirm when i finish finding a way of rebuilding and reducing the finished iso by 5mb as that's how much too large it is to fit on a cd... !!@!~#~) I really think that Bashrat has undertaken a monumental task and those of us that know anything about hardware and software and their complexities/variations realise this. If anyone using the driverpack could post a Aida/Everest Windows devices only report (i think thats all Bashrat would need) then it may speed things up little and avoid confusion about which version of hardware you have (Analog Devices and powered by ATI main offenders.) I try to get invloved as often as i can and started to find ways to do UWCD'S long ago but i actually find i dont have enough time with all the other work i do so the fact that other very capable people are devoting their time to it is of emense benefit to me and i'm sure many many others in this forum. So as a request.... if you are having problems - Follow Instructions..! Please try creating UWXPCD using virgin XP SP2 cd and DPacks, then add Ryans pack and or Nlite, don't assume it's Bashrats Packs giving you problems, both previously mentioned projects make changes to txtsetup.sif and the dosnet.inf files
  11. Then retry without doing that. ← i'll get back to you...!
  12. No, the only thing i added to runme was my cleanup.cmd question as i posted some weeks ago, the only difference from previous installs is that i used nlite to slipstream hotfixes to svcpack then i slipstreamed DP's
  13. It's not that i get blue screens, they just were not being installed when i installed windows
  14. Did you use RyanVM's UpdatePack? ← Sorry... forgot to answer that.. no, i stopped using it long ago as it always gave me errors with my multiboot installs..
  15. I made the report after i had manually installed all missing drivers. i have just done a Corp install, not multiboot and everything worked including the Intel NIC but the HD driver still did not install, also the KB888111 hotfix was not showing installed either. I'm going to do rebuilds of all the DP's and my UWXPCD....
  16. I'm having some trouble with a new M/B, the Asus P5GD1-VM 775 chipset, 3.4ghz intel cpu and Realtek HD sound and Intel 10/100 and intel 915G graphics... using my current UWXPCD and all DP's save for wlan and Ati Graphics. using method 2 my unnattended part does not work, i use a floppy winnt.sif and backup with winnt.sif burned into the cd with missing user info this works on all installs but not with this install, also the 10/100 lan is not being installed, nor is the Realtek HD. i have included an everest report if it might be of some use... Does anyone know what might be causing this...? P5GD1_VM.htm
  17. Now i know i was right to pick method 2...
  18. I deleted all the base files and started from scratch using V5.07.1 method 2 but i still ended up with Methods_V5.07.7z... I'll try V5.07.2 tomorrow.
  19. I have Methods_5071.7z in my files folder but in my UWXPCD_Root\M2 folder it's called Methods_507.7z and of course it gets left in the root on my XPCD folder when i slipstream it...??? is the Methods file not required at all anymore, whatever Version it is..?
  20. LMAO -- Personally, I would tell them...
  21. Do you know if you can make this happen or are the hotfixes to be applied going to make it impossible...? if you can do it do you have a time frame in mind..?
  22. I'll wait.... done without it this long so i suppose i can hold out a little longer.. it woud be great if they could all be slipstreamed into W2K SP4 and then i just apply my $OEM$ files... B)
  23. If I already have a slipstreamed $OEM$ install CD can i add these files to the install under RunOnceEx and if so what switches should i use..???
  24. As a technician myself i would leave them to it... advise them so much then fix it later... lets face it, trying to prevent infection puts you out of money later.... Edit... Firefox does not prevent infection, you can get infected just as easily if you go to the wrong places or install the wrong program...!!!!
