hey if u want to try windows 8 without messing ur main os and not have to burn dvd or usb drive this is nice guide to help u steps to install on VHD 0. u will need few apps EasyBCD Gimagex 1. first lets create vhd with "Computer Management" @ Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools, right click on disk management and choose create VHD, create 15gb its enuf for testing, after its mounted format it 2. use Gimagex to apply/deploy the image of windows, install.wim, the windows 8 image is in iso u downloaded, at sources dir 3. with easybcd create new virtual disk entry that's it steps to install on HDD a bit difficult 0. we need few apps EasyBCD [Optional] Gimagex and Windows PE/Setup [any version will help windows vista / 7... ] we need windows PE so we can boot the system to another OS and be able to move few OS dirs [needed if u have old OS if not skip to step 2] 1.lets boot the system with windows PE / windows setup of any kinda [6.x] and open CMD.exe with shift + F10 we need to move few dirs like: Windows, Program files, ProgramData, Users, Program Files (x86) Example how to move Move "Program files" c:\windowsOLD\ after we move all the current OS dirs to windowsOLD lets 2.from windows PE\Setup launch cmd.exe with shift + f10 then run gimagex.exe, deploy the image as we did with VHD [ check step 2 in VHD guide] [needed if didn't have old OS installed before] 3. now we gonna use windows recovery that with windows setup disk or wim to recovery the OS if u didnt have any OS before Tips 1. u dont need to have windows setup on dvd u can add boot.wim [that include setup boot] to boot menu with easybcd and then boot to it [much faster booting then dvd] 2. if u like to change back to ur old OS and dont have to format u just have to do this again but now move the dirs of windows 8 to windows8 dir and move back windowsOLD dir to c:\ Problems ? if u get problem with winload.exe that not digital signature overwrite bootmgr and bootmgr.efi in c:\ dir with new version of windows 8 setup disk

install vista update it and then use sysperp capture it rename it to install.wim and replace it on dvd works only with vista and win7 duno about winxp

check in Microsoft website they have detailed packages info

apply/deploy the image from install.wim then use recovery in windows setup dvd the setup will continue

get the new install_wim_tweak.exe crdiz goes to Legolash2o

boot to windows setup disk use shift f10 to open cmd run gimagex and capture the sysperped drive make list to skip dir u dont want to capture

did u create from the deployment new wim or did u append to same wim ? its might be also from rtlite config might cause problem with vlite u could use whereisit application to remove stuff but its hard

rtlite dont remove winsxs good enuf as vlite but the creator didnt meant to make it as vlite he wanted to make less extreme thx mayur however i didnt say its must download waik but i did added it

with vlite u can remove all but updatabilty will be gone

English is obviously not your first language. 7Customer does NOT have the ability to shrink WinSxS YET. You can HELP by creating XML files which tell 7Customizer what to delete. My point is, why make a new program when 7Customizer already has the foundation to do so? All YOU need to do is help tell it what to delete. What language do you normally speak? Maybe someone can help translate. i duno nothing about xml and i dont gonna place 20k files in xml and i dont find 7Customizer so comfort to work with so i wont use also working on so hard on differ editions is non-sense pls dont interpreted this topic u dont have idea what im talking

with my method i got 600mb winsxs stable 32bit win7 sp1 all updates work ie9 netfx4 how much his method can do ?

its wont take much time and its not indexing all the files it a way to remove it smartly i know nothing about 7Customizer never use it i use rtlite and vlite rtlite winsxs removal is not stable enuf not all the updates installed and vlite winsxs removal not for if u wanna update at all how much winsxs size after using 7customizer ?

dont worry i managed to understand which files can be removed or not thats why i need app to do that its simple to remove all winsxs directory manually but its not easy to remove the correct files that can be removed

Copying Windows Files - if u do update its will backup ur stuff Expanding Windows Files open - open install.wim to ur hdd Installing Features - finishing configuring the features u enabled or been enabled Installing updates - oem updates Completing Installation - detect drivers

i think the drivers added wrong to wim image try use dism.exe and then use rtlite

did u try on original iso and with my ini and inf ? did u intergrade something ?
