  1. ive asked the creator for his support to create a new installer for matroska...it uses NSIS (well, it uses a different program, but its based on NSIS) and he did not include the option to silently install matroska...I gave him the option of letting me know where things go so I can make a new installer that would not require him any work, and he turned me down...so it seems unless enough people gripe about it, it will never be silently installed.
  2. ya know, for someone who posted in the "new optional components" thread, I figured you would know...but its not my method...someone posted about Adobe Lite and fastest (I believe is the exact title of the thread) and I used that theory and created an optional component for reader 6.02 ce
  3. 6.43MB BEAT THAT! LOL
  4. also to note...some of the HKCR keys in yahoooc.inf are not needed, because a lot of them are from registering the dlls in yahoo...if anyone wants to go through and clean it up, they are more than welcome to do so...I may do so in time...just not sure when (I have to FEEL like doing it lol) because I also made a inno setup installer which uses the same keys...so I may fix it for that, but once I do that ill be able to clean up the inf here.
  5. whoops, i meant to change that 1 to a 5 before pasting...yea, actually, I downloaded the full installer from adobe, but im unsure about different languages, I found it the same way, by going to alternate download sites...I did this only because I didnt like the options the drop downs were giving me lol.
  6. actually, the adobe one works fine...I just need to know if I need to include the wisptis reg hack, since technically this version of adobe shouldnt have that problem, which is based on 6.02 or at least mine was - you will need to download the full version, look at the thread Acrobat 6.02 for the link...this is the one I used, and for yahoo I used 6.0.0.1750, mine was labeled ymsgr.exe - no fancy install, if you click on install, no options were given, just a installer dialog (ya know with the blue bar that counts to 100%)...if you removed previous yahoo, you got a dw-32.dll error, so I removed previous yahoo, installed the new version, moved dw-32.dll over and it worked, but with this version you DO NOT get any of that companion crap. I am unsure if they still offer yahoo this way, but I could attach the one I have...the only reason I offer this is because ALL oprevious versions had the companion things or add yahoo.com to search and homepage, this one did not, Im not saying there is any difference in the functionality or that the one I have is better. or here is the link http://download.yahoo.com/dl/installs/ymsgr/ymsgr_1710.exe
  7. updated yahoo, attachment in previous post...side note, does anyone know why I get a stupid book icon in windows optional components (add/remove, windows components), I would like to change that.
  8. yahoo...if you want to fix the error, you could do a search in notepad for 0x00020000,"%programfiles% and replace with 0,C:\Program Files launchcast fixed, i believe.
  9. there, paragraphed... adobe reader inf attached...couldnt think of a better name and didnt want it to be too long that wxp wouldnt pick it up.
  10. I created some optional components and was wondering if anyone would like them...they would run the same way as gosh's aimoc. I made one for adobe reader ce and one for yahoo. The yahoo one works, but it has problems, this is because the registry thats imported requires that yahoo be on c:\, so this would give no option for people installing windows on another drive. It took me a LONG time to create the yahoo one, but i think im killing the idea, I just wanna know if anyone wants the inf to see if they can make it work. The reason it doesnt work is becaue I use reg_sz and set c:\program files as %programfiles% which yahoo doesnt translate. It still works, but Launchcast doesnt open (eveyrthing else does, I think I know why launchcast doesnt open) and it uses the basic graphics (classic I believe instead of maverick or indigo...indigo is what yahoo uses on default now) havent checked skins. Adobe reader works fine but does not include the wisptis fix, this is because I dont understand how it loads it, if it loads in the installer, then the wisptis fix is included (since there is no installer), but if it is run by opening adobe, then why does a reg tweak defeat adobe from running wisptis again? The wisptis fix could be applied as Journal Viewer is loaded after optional components would be...well, if anyone says they want the infs, I will post them. you will need to look through the inf to find out what files are needed (not all are since I deleted some things)... on a side note, has anyone edited yahoo messnger, i mean like the layout of the window...for aim, this is in aimres.dll where you can take out the ads and some other really cool stuff...like in aim I killed the aim.com window so no matter what that never pops up...and I would like to do the same to yahoo insider
  11. well, what I meant was that you cant rename the file, but for a better named one (msgplus setup.exe) download from the mirror...or are they all named msgplus-301? AFAICT they coded something in the install that if you change the name, it breaks the setup.
  12. uhm, wfp doesnt have anything to do with program files, at least not in my understanding...its mainly for blocking you from removing dllcache *I think, dont quote me on it*
  13. what program should I use to do this...I tried hexedit, but it doesnt match up, im thinking debug, but then how do I go through and do this?
  14. yea, download from simtel mirror to get a better named one...I hate having version numbers in my setup files
  15. actually - his is called dotnetfw.exe per greenmachines instructions on creating a iexpress wrapper...check greenmachines webpage for info...unless you wanna run it like in my svcpack.inf, though you do save like 5mb using green's method
  16. yea, I get that too, I would check their download mirrors for MsgPlus Setup.exe (I think you can rename this one, not sure...but thats what I named it). I think I got a "please download again, corrupt" error.
  17. i have that too, what really sucks is when you have hidden the window. so therefore, its just sits and wont go on to the next runonceex.cmd
  18. like i said, the first 8 lines
  19. I actually meant where is your install.bat on the cd?
  20. mine isnt supported, RealTek RTL8169/8110 Gigabit Nic
  21. actually, i thought it was language, not language group - if you had msn or something I could troubleshoot better with you, oh and read my post before this one...
  22. Also, if you use encrypted admin password, autologon will not work, no matter how hard you try (its document in ref.chm under autologon), remove the \ after sata. what is your OEM directory layout?
  23. remove the quotes from: AutomaticUpdates=yes in your winnt.sif remove these 2 from your winnt.sif AutoConfirm=1 ConfigureAtLogon=1 and everything should work - PS vmware is causing your display to not be resized...I get it too, it stays at 640x480, even though xp is supposed to set itself at 800x600. make sure you spell signing correctly - driversigningpolicy (forgot a g in there)
  24. so what did you miss...cant be as bad as finally figuring out a "/" is supposed to be in front of i386. If noone knows, my svcpack.inf has been broken/not working for a little over a month, and I never could figure out why...So when you realize you trashed a months worth of work because svcpack.inf didnt work and later you find out that all you needed was a /, then you can see how stupid I feel...
  25. ya know, this took me forever to figure out... check mine against yours and you will see the difference, especially in the first 8 lines. Im unsure if you need the versions/build, but i do know there has to be a "\" before i386...you have no idea how long that took me ...
