Are we discussing how to hack vista lol??There are many other forums that discuss that allready..i dont think the moderators will apreciate it..but i,m a guest aswel here..so its not to me to decide about that..my name is not Clint Eastwood !! But yea Vista REMOVED works and is tested by me 2 weeks ago..worked fine in a Satellite pro 1000mhz with 240 mb ram. But i did not make a iso cause when i did..the iso get an strange error on install when booted from that iso !! I did the same but then with the installation files on another partion of the harddisk adn installed from there..cool thing that Vlite also creates the posibillity to run setup from Windows Xp..altough i dont really like to install windows that way..i choose for a clean install but with lower then 375mb ram its for me not possible yet. \The new version of V-lite however supports installing Vista with 256 mb..but not less than that..so 240 wont work as bootable iso..at least not with me !!! Good luck and pay for Vista lmao

Me to buddy i was ..eeeeh so i can not use my 4.5 gig harddisk anymore?? But thanks to Vlite i can install Vista lite build by Vlite on a small harddisk and the minimum is 4.6 gig harddisk..lol you wont be able to have allot but it will run and work fine.. The best part of Vlite is that i can take out the security centre from Vista and them balloon tips ..cause those anoy me very much! Also the part that Vista get so much lighter , will make that i will never ever use a full version of vista anymore..when one sees(thanks to Vlite) what kind of rubbish is inserted in the operating system --lol did you see how big the help files are -? Also the speech part is BIG !!!!Those things are not needed for me..i skip help files cause i never use them lmao.. Hey check the preset file open it and apply and see what i removed ..till now the pc with my lite version of Vista runs marvelouse..i,m on it 24-7 One shall see how long that will stay that way ! VistaNo_mem will only work if the installation files are modified and istallation will be from Harddisk..So youi must copy Vista-lite to your harddisk..if you have less that 256mb in your case 240-\Thats the only way i did it..i had 240 aswel on my satellite p3(1000mhhz) In all other cases you will get an unknown error when booted from the modified Vlite cdrom.. or memory faillure when booted with non modified cdrom! That what i saw..by the way i did not test the latest Vlite as yet..i will update today !

Yes i did..because WMP11 hides things as performance and other settings i like to set my self.. So mediaplayer runs fine on Windows vista yep ! Also MSN7.5 instead of live messenger..but thats a personal choice i would rather get rid of msn completely but all my friends use it so i am forced to use an alternative program that supports the msn protocol! Miranda messenger is small and does what it should do nothing more or less.. Mine version of Vlite runs for 1 month now and things are still looking good ! We will see~~

I can not wait for the next version then Nuhi..good job..although i must say that i reinstalled win xp and deleted Win vista Lite version i made..instead i made a win xp Lite version with Nlite and i have a race machine now with my Gericom webgine pentium3 with 375mb ram..althoug vista run fine xp lite is even nicer.. i will continue creating vista lite iso's thanks to Vlite Program..but i wont install on a pc with less then 512mb ram'cause i allready did that and that feeling is now sattisfied..but we must keep in mind that time goes on and memory is very needed to run a system with windows vista..one start to get bored like the old days when waiting was the biggest part of working with computers!. But for one that really want to test vista its good that its possible to run Vista aswel with less then 512mb.. Good work Software gods !!! Cheers Puck

Lol hahah i was getting checked by the dutch police to see if i had alcohol in my blood..good they did not do the THC test lmao..just kiddin.. Just found 256 mb extra for the satellite and i have 375 mb-5=370 mb ram to run Vista lite and i must say it really made the difference..its twice as fast now and startup procedure takes about 1 minute including Bitdefender pro 10 internet security to startup and be ready to use..1 minute is for now acceptable and it seems to run ok..i let the machine run for the last 24hrs..downloading some stuff with a torrent downloader and its still running ok.. I will search for 256 mb extra so i will have 512-5=507 mb ram available and that should be it ! If noone has something to add to this topic..it might as wel be closed ... Cheeers ! o yea one more thing..dont expect to install microsoft office or other anoying heavy programs like norton anti virus or idiotic software that take down your recourses..make good compromises ..what to and not to install on your pc..o yea..dont install windows media player 11 ...the version 10 runs just fine..and make a copy of your windows moviemaker folder in programfiles of your old windows xp before you wipe it Because windows vista moviemaker wont run if you dont have a Vista Aproved video card If you want to use moviemaker..your old version 2.1 will work in Vista when copied from your old programfiles from previous xp installation at least it runs fine here..Windows moviemaker in Vista dont want to run on my Compaq Evo 25000mhz pc..but the 2.1 moviemaker i copied from anther win xp pc runs perfect !!! O yea..dont install MSN8 or live messenger whatever its called..instead go for the msn7.5 version and dont update it and make sure it dont start with windows..disable it or block it with Bitdefender firewall..those things make your pc slow..be the boss of your computer and decide witch programs may or may not start up automaticly..dont let windows decide for you !!!!

Nuhi is right..i just added 256 mb to my sattelite that has windows vista lite on it..the errror Nuhi..wont appear if the installation files (including the manipulated file ..that checks ram) ..are copied to harddisk and set up is starten from an nt platform as windows xp..(no idea if Vista supports \FAT32- When booted from Cdrom it will give you that error even if the patch is burned to the installation Cd..thats what i discoverd ! It makes no sence ..(i agree with the others) to install Windows Vista on a 256mb machine with at least 800mhz processor..better make a lite xp version to see how fast things will run on your pc !! To make your own lite windows xp cd use Nlite www.nliteos.com Greets from Sunny holllland !

I would say..give it a try..as long as Vlite can read the files from dvd its no problem..drivers are included in Windows vista if you dont remove them in V-lite..but only by trying your idea , you will get the right aswers! Aint much you can break lol.. I found an hpdisk with windows xp on it .THis cd is the rescue cd or how ever its called ..and has all drivers for that particular pc onboard..i,m gonna see if i can rip the right files from that cd .. so if its on your partition..you must look if v-lite can read those files and if they are all compleet..about drivers..those you can download yourself when all went good from the net..drivers will only install when the drivers are allready known in Vista..by the way ..you can try to let vista look for an driver itselfs on the net and you might be suprised to see that some hardware is not supported on the dvd of vista ..but when it check online it might find a driver that is suitable.Its worted to give it a try..that's how i got the sounddrivers of my satellite pro running V-lite composed Vista ultimate version 6xxx Billy ..you are selecting a partition on your hd..that can only be read bij an so called procedure..at booting you can select to reinstall the software again etc and your old windows will be put somewhere on your disk and the setup will install(mostly faster then normal) your windows again! Its also not allought to do that by the way cause the system is soled that way and i think you have a so called oem version?? Update me with some more specific information !

I just got some mails from people that used the vlite preset file and some did not know that after reading the dvd of vista to your harddisk..with Vlite..then you open my preset file and only hit apply..then the building of the vista lite will start ! Only Hit Apply..nuthing else !!! Then when done hit ..make iso..and your done ! Good luck!

LMAO you can not select all lol i dont see the need of that function anyhow..but you must read carefully what each component means and what it does..lol lol lol you can not like select all and remove all hahaha that wont work.. Try again and now more carefully..recomposing of a windows vista dvd is easy ..but not that easy lol! Not laughin at you that you are a dummie..hell no..its just funny you remove all and expect it to run oke.. Read what every element is used for and read and read again !! Happy compilating !!!

I would say that your dvd has corrupt files on it..and the error warning looks like an memory faillure.. What are your pc's specifications..??? How did you install it??did u booted from dvd and formated your harddrive before installing??if not try that first !

THE EASY WAY TO REBUILD YOUR LEGITIME WINDOWS VISTA DVD First of all select the Dvd player for reading the Vista files to your at least 3 gig folder on your harddisk.. For the Vlite program at least 6gig free space is needed to read files and rebuild the files.. Ok this is the deal.. asuming you allready copied all files from dvd to harddisk ..simply click open preset and open mine that you may download it right here its attached to my post ! When you opent my preset..only thing you need to do is hit APPLY in V-LITE and then choose the second option rebuild and change--or make whatever the second choice is..i,m not in the program now..anyway when you applied the proces will start... DONT FORGET YOU NEED ENOUGH SPACE FOR THE COMPLETE PROCES AND MAKE SURE YOUR TEMP FILES IN LOCAL SETTINGS UNDER YOUR ACOUNT IN WINDOWS XP ARE EMPTY AND CLEAN..OR HAVE ENOUGH SPACE OR YOU WILL GET AN ERROR AND WE WILL HAVE TO REPEAT WHAT IS SAID LONG TIME AGO BY OTHER USERS!! After the proces is done..you click next..then you will have the option to make an iso..and that is excatly what you want to do..hit create iso file and select your desktop as location and save the file !! You are now done..now you can burn the iso file with an iso burn program sutch as Nero (demo) or iso burner (free) to make your iso into a bootable medium ! The reading and install went fine on the pentium2 400mhz with 196 mb but...... When the installation restarted - i get the Bill Gates Bluescreen and machine restarted again..i think the memory is either not good for Vista or it sees the bad sector on an other partition on the same harddisk..although i think its the memory cause XP installes just fine on the same partition i tried to install Vista to !!! I guess thats the end of the Pentium 2 test ...i know the absolute minimals now i guess ! \Good luck testers ! Although i should have 2 laptops p3 500mhz somewere in the house so i think ill see what a 500mhz will do with my lite version of Vista !

The lowest til now for Vista is an P3-1000mhz with 240 mb ram.. but thats a stripped version of Vista ultimate..but it works fine..

Well the iso is made with Vlite so i think this discussion should be here at the Vlite forum and not in the regular Vista discussions..because the modified version is made only with thanks to Vlite ..and thats it..about the memory by passing..i dont want to encourage piratcy in any way..only thing i like to find out ..are the minimal requierments for windows vista and that is not a heavy pentium4 with 1 gig memory as mostly is beeing advised! I,m busy installing windows vista maxi lite on a compaq 1750 pentium2 with 196mb ram.. More repport later ... Cheers! By the way the pictures i posted are just me..taking a alcohol test by the police..while i did not drink..so i,m not drunk people...

P4 with 512mb ram should be more then enough to run this light version compilated by Vlite..although you might not like the simple windows classic look on it ! Important with vista is to set some setting manual..such as the space explorer will use to store data..i set it to minimum 8mb..trashcan delete and not store files ..and then ofcourse a good firewall ...so you can see all processes to outbound..and inbound ..if i may advise in the forum..i would go for bitdefender www.bitdefender.com but the version you need is called bitdefender internet security 10 ..i have it on all my pc's..it really makes the difference.. Also disable sidebars etc..and if you run norton antivirus..becarefull norton is a big virus itselfs.. Good luck ..if you want my preset just mail me at studio48@msn.com Cheers !
