  1. That's pretty cool. Would you mind sharing the files? To slipsteam, use the HFEXPERT folder for the ICL files (you need to create your own folder structure there), and place the REG file in the HFSVPK folder.
  2. Can you attach your unworking hfslipwu.inf file?
  3. Tain, I'm not 100% sure about this, but it's worth a shot. If you are current machine is a FDV installation, you need to re-enable your 16 bit subsystem. See his site for details.
  4. @hoak - Nope, it's Tomcat76's. All the files/links listed bring your source up to date and all is fully slipstreamed by HFSLIP.
  5. If you have all your hotfixes downloaded already, why not just use HFSLIP to slipstream it all? Well, it will slipstream all but the 890830.

Tomcat to the rescue! Do you think that microsoft ate their leaded paint chips this morning?
  7. Are you saying that instead of [params.MS_TCPIP.Adapter1] it should be [MS_TCPIP.Adapter1.params]
  8. I could cleanout layout.inf, but it's needed for *some* things. If you run the reducers, the larger layout.inf file won't affect anything. Are you having probs with it? All is fine for me. If you select Y when running FDV's fileset, it filters out FDV's inf files. If you select N, then FDV's files will overwrite whatever is in the sourcess just as before. Personally I would select Y to filter them out.
  9. Can you try testing without a multiboot cd? Are you sure you have your multiboot bootloaders and other modified files on your cd set up correctly? Have you tested a virgin source to verify it's an HFSLIP issue or perhaps you are doing something incorrectly?
  10. No hacked DLL is required. Just put the LegitCheckControl.cab file file in the HFCABs folder and run with the latest HFSLIP. I'll have to go through those instructions one day in my spare time.
  11. Personally I think a list of zips would be best. Some people love quicktime (I hate it), some want divx and some don't, etc. It may be easier to maintain having separate zips for the codecs you like/want. As a sidenote, the list I have on the first thread is only for decoding, NOT encoding. I would prefer to have only decoding codecs.
  12. Tain - Can you begin a new thread with codec slipstreaming so I can close this one? It sounds to me that you would like to champion this. This is great because the developers would like to continue to add more features, as opposed to keep ever-so-changing codecs up to date. I can help as needed. Thanks!
  13. Tain - Thanks for the updates here. If you are using the WM codecs, it's easier to grab them from microsoft as they are OS dependant. This is why I left those out of my codec instructions on the first message on this thread. Would you mind if I modded the first post to link to your download link? TP
  14. You are good to go with Oleg2's fileset. Where is Oleg2 anyway?
  15. I use HFSLIP to slipstream hotfixes, slipstream codecs, replace windows applications, parse REG and INF and CMD files at T-13, install programs via svcpack & cmdlines. I also use HFSLIP to reduce the source (as opposed to using NLITE). I simply fill the folders, run HFSLIP (it makes a bootable ISO), burn the ISO on a cd and install. Total time for click to iso creation is about 15 minutes. Installing cd takes about 15 minutes (10 minutes for the OS and 5 for applications). This procedure works for 2k+DX9+IE6+updates slipsteamed & XP (sp1+updates or sp2+updates). I can't verify it works with 2003.
  16. Try HFSLIP if you're sick of missing files.
  17. I don't think there is a need for modified files. There is something called HFCLEANUP that can be used to do the same thing. .... well 95% of the FDV fileset. The HFCLEANUP works with 2k, xp and 2003. Give me a few days to test.
  18. It a bit more than the dosnet and txtsetup files. You need to also check the sysoc.inf and syssetup.inf files as well.
  19. Can you post your PRODSPEC.INI file so I can fix this?
  20. Tain, I didn't plan on updating the first posting of this thread because there wasn't much excitment about this. It is not mandatory to place all the binaries listed in the codecs folder. In fact, I don't use most of those codecs anyway. Since this posting I have added more thing to my installation infs, but the remainder of the files are pretty much the same. Perhaps these links may help with finding these files. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=101200 and http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=323635
  21. Have you checked this out? It may help you. I haven't really tested it, but it may steer you the right way.

    HFEXPERT

x-pert - Thanks for the info. I never really thought about filenames like that. Give me a few days to incorporate this request (if I can think of a good way).
  23. Bugs, What's up doc? No prob, Tomcat did the hard part. Glad it worked out for you. One of these days I'll see what the difference is between unicode and ansi. It's all Greek to me.
  24. Update to script... some minor bugfixes as listed in first post. Thanks Tomcat76 for your continued help!
