  1. Super-Magician, Were you working on hfslip the whole day? hehe. In your svcpack replace MP10Setup.exe /Q:A /R:N with MP10Setup.exe /q:A /c:"setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore" There's more to modding the script than what you are posting. Can I please troubleshoot before I release the new version dude? What's kind of important at the moment is your feedback on eliminating wmp10 to see if the initial log on sounds come back. Are the sounds that important?
  2. Give me a while to verify/fix things. HFSLIP isn't on the forefront on my things to do at the moment. In the meantime, can you let us know if by removing wmp10 all together if you hear the sounds on first load.
  3. Can you post HFSLIP's error_report file so I can take a look at what you're slipstreaming?
  4. New version up to fix the 2003 non-sp1 issue.
  5. Minor bugfix 2003 non-sp1.
  6. Sounds to me like your are running on an XP box. What you noticed was one of the things I hate about XP. If you are doing serious multitasking and let's say you want to delete a folder using explorer. There are some occasions where you just can't delete it because it's being used by some process. So if you load up task manager and kill everything, you still can't delete it. But, if you reboot, it is no prob to delete the folder. I'm not sure what it is, but it appears to be a generic problem. 2K doesn't have problems like that. Also, the 8.3 for the svcpack folders isn't mandatory, but having no spaces is.
  7. Regarding the missing file with 2003, it appears that if you aren't working with a sp1 source, you'll get the error. I found the prob with hfslip with the way it processes a non-sp1 2003 source. I'll forward the updated HFSLIP to FDV for hosting. TC to the rescue. Thanks!
  8. All taken care of with latest release (Feb 2).
  9. New version up. Minor 2003 fixes.
  10. CD install? Have you done step 3 yet? Also, have you checked your hotfixes in your HF folder with Tomcat's list?
  11. Event viewer?
  12. What you have for the notepad replacement is fine. In fact, other programs I swap are the mplayer2.exe (media player classic) and taskmgr.exe (sysinternals process explorer). Now if you tried swapping explorer.exe, *that* would be a file type that would cause problems. Depending on what OS you are running, you can disable your SFC by the FIX folder. For 2k you need a modded sfc.dl_, for XP you need a sfc_os.dl_ file.
  13. I like these lists, it really makes my life easier. Can you place comments on the wmfdist.exe and the directx cabs that the user needs to extract the files from the exe downloaded? Also, HFSLIP can do 32-bit 2003 server as well. Perhaps once everyone agrees on your format, a similar page can be set up for 2003 too.
  14. If you are seeing a "File is not a PE File" message fly by when HFSLIP is running, there is no need for panic. When you see this message you are using the HFEXPERT folder. HFSLIP is trying to fix whatever that modifype does to binaries. This makes windows to go through the setup without complaints. There is nothing wrong with this PE file message. If you don't want the WGA, then don't put the cab file in the HFCABS folder.
  15. dziubek - Tomcat76's 2k page or Tomcat76's XP page should help you.
  16. New version posted. Microsoft released new WGA yesterday, new HFSLIP takes care of it. This version includes Tomcat76's Service Pack Slipstreamer & his MSXML Slipstreamer. Thanks Tomcat76, you rock dude! Also included is some minor bugfixes that creep up time after time. If anyone else likes coding and wants their commandline "plug in" inserted into the script, post your working code. Please be sure to verify functionality with different OSs because I don't troubleshoot other people's code. Remember, if you have any hotfix errors, read up on what info I need to process your request. Read the FAQs too. Enjoy! Next round..... A fully patched, W2K with a footprint of less than 280 meg (with IE6 or without IE altogether). Stay tuned.
  17. Please visit Tomcat76's sticky for what hotfixes go where and read the instructions on FDVs site. Since you didn't attach your error_report file, I'll assume that you are doing an XPSP2. As per the instructions of FDVs site, HFSLIP does not slipstream dotnet items, but there are workarounds. Also, the the windows media connect has a filename of wmcsetup.exe. Dumb question, but why were you trying to do .net 2.0 and .net 1v3? I would think that either you want v1 OR v2.

    Thanks for the plug dude.
  19. Sorry dude. I found out about this one 5 minutes ago. Microsoft changed their minds with the WGA, so HFSLIP needs to be changed somewhat. Please look for the HFSLIP_60129.CMD release. Please gve a few hours for it to be posted on FDV's site.
  20. When run, HFSLIP will delete the SOURCESS folder and create a new one. Sorry, it's a limitation of the script.
  21. What does the "Componants" section of your winnt.sif file do? Have you tried hfslip without the "extras" first? Perhaps your best bet would be to test hfslip with only the HF folder first. Once that's done, then add to the other folders to isolate the issues.
  22. Isn't layout.inf a protected file?
  23. Super-Magician - I'm not sure where you are getting out with a posting that 898461 doesn't function. I replied to this matter on the first thread on this sub-forum. It is fixed with the latest revision and possibly a simple edit of the file. This issue was solved by TomCat76 over the past weekend and his tests on the last version of HFSLIP have no issues. (Thanks Tomcat76!) As far as the driver repacking. "SPX" was chosen because I did not want to repack the current SP you are slipstreaming. This results in the fastest repacking. HFSLIP could care less what SP you are running because all the information about drivers is listed in the drvindex.inf file. All I do is redirect what files are in the new SPX cab in the drvindex.inf (and modify the other setup files accordingly). Also, if you would rather have one cab, you can choose the driver merge option (the A, B or C if you read the screen prompts). When this selection is done, there will be no SP2.CAB; everything is merged into driver.cab.
  24. Very nice Tomcat76. For the future, can you rename the SPACK to HFSPACK? Reason? Because when I view directories I like to see the "extras" segregated from the SOURCE and SOURCESS. Yea, I know, call me anal retentive. A little comment. If slipstreaming SP2 onto an OEM cd, you may need to delete the svcpack.in_ file. I ran into that problem a lot. Once troubleshooting is complete with this, I'll incorporate this into HFSLIP.
