  4. This thread will get de-stickied (and will remain destickied) if not updated in 7 days.

  6. hfgui1.exe is the renamed version of dnf_all.exe. Any luck sfeone?
  7. Is there a HFGUI1.EXE file in sourcess\i386 folder? What is DNF_all.exe? Try running hfslip without DNF_all.exe and report back.
  8. New beta release. See first thread. Don't get antsy guys, I don't do this full time!

    new fileset

The FINDSTR and RUNDLL32.EXE commands don't work, which is a good culprit for the hfslip temp directory not being deleted. Martin - Are you getting cab errors when selecting a/b/c? I can't repeat the error that FDV points out in a different thread (sorry to ask here).
  10. Open your winnt.sif file and you should see this: [userData] FullName=xxxx OrgName=yyyyy ComputerName=zzzz If you are running a VM with the same computer name, you will be prompted for a computer name. As far as the windows search thing, pls read the first stickied post on this forum.
  11. I don't use XP, but are there that many post sp3 hotfixes already?
  12. You can put the winnt.sif folder in either the source prior to running hfslip and it will copy over everytime you run hfslip. If you are using the sourcess folder to make a bootable CD, then put it in the sourcess folder. The sourcess folder is the finished compilation. Are you sure it's winnt.sif and not winnt.sif.txt? It's a common mistake if you let windows do you a "favor" by hiding file extensions.
  13. Place the winnt.sif file in the source\i386 folder. Make sure it's winnt.sif not winnt.sif.txt.
  14. I can't address the dot net with hfslip. Dotnet is more of an application and not part of the out of the box operating system. As far as the system prompting for information, you can specify it in your winnt.sif. You can readily find info on winnt.sif files on both the web and in the forums. HFSLIP does not create nor modify the winnt.sif file. Depending on options you chose in NLITE, NLITE will create/modify your winnt.sif file.
  15. In TC's absence I'll put on my coding hat when I have free time. In working the issues on by one I have some Qs for clarification. I had to put hfslip aside for a bit so I could be involved with life and my coding skills are a bit rusty. 1) The OS check using the workstation service seems to be a one time basis. Personally I find it hard to use a computer with the workstation service disabled (or deleted). HFSLIP has been using the same routine for quite some time to determine the OS. If someone else can think of a workaround, please contribute. 2) I've been trying the a/b/c merge on 2k pro and cannot replicate the issue that FDV points out. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, post up your hfslip log file so I can try to replicate things on this end. If I can't replicate it, I can't fix it. 3) * 4) * 5) * 6) * 7) * 8) Will work on this one later 9) * 10) * 11) * 12) * 13) * 14) * 15) * 16) * * TC update list issue? I can only do one prob at a time, and I have not much free time these days. Before anyone asks, I can only work updates for hfslip version 1.x.

    new fileset

I get a copy error during txtmode copy with 2k pro. It's looking for uniata.sys, which I think is a server only file. Is there a workstation and server fileset?
  18. When tomcat's cmd file is run, wget is called to get a cab file from microsoft. The cab file downloaded via the script is the same cab file used for windows update and the microsoft baseline security analyzer. The cab is good for windows OSs (not sure if 95 or 98 or vista because I don't use them). It has info on file names, versions and registry checks. As far as full functionality with FDV's fileset, I recommend testing the waters out to see the results. By default, the hflsip log file is placed inside the sourcess folder and inside the hfslip working directory.
  19. You don't need windows update, MSIE or any browser to see what updates you are missing. See this link. Just grab the two zip files and extract them to a folder and run the CMD file. Works like a champ. The bad part is that you have to manually download the updates. If you keep your HF folder up to snuff, then it's a piece of cake. You can see what updates you have slipstreamed via the hfslip.log file that was created after running hfslip.
  20. It depends. Read this link. http://hfslip.org/advanced.html

    Status of TC76

Yea tell me about it. I hate it too when real life gets in the way of helping others for free. Thanks for the support Acheron.

    Status of TC76

TC is doing OK. I got in touch with him last week. He's a bit on the busy side, to put it mildly.
  23. Can you verify the add/remove issue before you install your software? If that's not the case, I would suspect the MDAC update. I'm old fashioned and don't use the latest and greatest MDAC and all is fine.
  24. I recommend to use tomcat76's list of updates to be sure that you are up to date. When selecting the updates, do not select the IE6 button. Report back what you find out.
  25. We can help better if you attach your hflsip.log file.
