  1. Feel like running an experiment? Open up the hfslip cmd file with your favorite text editor and look for this line of code: IF "%Localization%"=="German" SET LCIDD=1031 Add the following after it, save it and re-run hfslip and report back. IF "%Localization%"=="„¢¢ž¤ ¡á" SET LCIDD=1032
  2. Sorry I have to ask a dumb Q, but I'm not sure what you mean when you say will be. Are you trying to say that logagent.exe should be copied to Program Files/Windows Media Player folder? strmdll.dll should be copied to the system32 folder? Aren't those files already copied there now? Or is the WMP9 slipstream overwriting things?
  3. BrainwreckedTech - Feel like running a science experiment? (I don't have time to run science projects.) Re-run hfslip with your current hotfixes/wmp9 but without kb954600. Once the image is installed into a VM, run the 954600 hotfix and see what files changed/added. This contents of this hotfix is unlike the rest of the hotfixes I've seen. I guess the files to closely examine are inside the extracted hotfix. netlogon.dll msv1_0.dll logagent.exe strmdll.dll
  4. Details of what file goes where is on hfslip.org. The website also has instructions on what to post when you have errors.

    Windows Updates

Thanks for the feedback Marsianin. Those two updates are already on the list though.
  6. Yes, the activex hotfix you mention is superceded. The update list files were sent to FDV for hosting. He will post it when he gets time from his hectic schedule. You may want to revisit your HF updates and be sure that you don't include what isn't required and re-verify what goes where. Case in point, the flash CAB file should go into the CABs directory, not hftools. At first glance, you have overlapping ones, especially in the windows media updates. If you are trying to visit WU, you should include legitcontrol.cab. Are you sure that KB943729.EXE is downloaded directly from MSFT? I find it strange that it has that filename.
  7. Did you bump your list against my list? Maybe re-download the 961260 hotfix?
  8. I'm not quite sure what "Vista systems integration XP" is, but hfslip hasn't been tested with vista and will not be recrafted to support any flavor of vista. You are on your own. Please visit www.hfslip.org for details on what hfslip can do. Please keep the beta thread on topic. Thanks.
  9. I suggest to attach the hfslip.log file for starters. Windows installer 4.5 isn't supported at the current time.
  10. HFSLIP does not support 64 bit versions of windows. Perhaps nlite does though.

    Windows Updates

It looks like installer if for xp and greater (I don't use xp). So I would need help with it. One of these days when I get some free time, I'll start a new thread with some betas for people to check out. I refuse to change my OS to do testing.

    Thanks krose.
  13. fz - sorry, no vista support (and never intend vista to include vista support).
  14. The file is the same. It's needed for MS update and for Office update. Sometimes the user would want only MS update, or only Office update. Tomcat's dynamic hotfix list is better but it's a bit dated. I'm html challenged and I can't do dynamic lists.
  15. I'll put a comment in the notes column about the 908531 hotfix but will post the new list after patch Tuesday. I hfcleanup and that verclsid.exe file is deleted in my hfslip run. There's lots of other worthless files that the hotfixes add too.
  16. honksu has both wm6 AND wmp9 files in his update list. He needs to decide which he wants to slipstream. It's either one or the other, not both.
  17. Ummmm, hfslip needs to work with a clean source, not an nlite'd one. Sorry, I can't help much further, I can only recommend to you to read the instructions. You can nlite the sourcess folder afterward.

jimmsta - The update hotfix list is for critical updates, not miscellaneous ones. I won't add exfat support to the list. wela - Please visit the update list to get the Jan 7, 2009 version. If there is a later one, please advise with a hyperlink.
  19. You have the wmp9 installer in there. I'd say that you have to choose which WMP you want - either ver 6 or 9. You can't leave both there. Personally I use v6.
  20. www.hfslip.org.
  21. honksu - welcome to the forum. It's customary to post a zipped up hfslip.log file when you report errors. Q for you in the meantime, are you sure you have the correct exe file for the WMP that you have chosen? There's 3 different variations of WMP for W2K. You only need 954600 if you don't plan on installing WMP9 or WMS.
  22. Which hfslip version are you using? Do you get the same issue without the KB958687 hotfix? Are you using some sort of application add-ons? If so, please retest without it. Nothing was touched with the runonce entries, so I find this a little strange.

Thanks for the feedback. I just emailed FDV the updated list.

    Windows Updates

bfc - There's 3 or 4 messages in this thread that address this. My initial hotfix list included this. There was messages that said that it wasn't needed (or at least WU and the MSBLA didn't say it was needed). So, I removed it. I have no problem adding it to the list again. Can someone please verify that KB951748 is needed? (sorry I don't and won't use XP so I can't check).

pointertovoid - Please keep this thread for corrections to the WU list. If you wish to have msxml discussions, please begin a new thread. Thanks.
