If it wasnt a Microsoft product why would they be posting on Microsoft Software Forum Network in the Windows NT4/2000/2003 section? It may have been done in error.
-
That is if the product is a Microsoft product. If the product is not made by Microsoft (like a Linux variant), it is more likely that the may not be much help.

That file is not a zip file; it is an LHZ compressed archive. Rename the archive to something eight or less characters proceded by extension ".LZH".

You can try registering Windows Upate (which exact files I do not remember nor have the information at this time). Also reinstalling DirectX may solve the problem (not sure why this should work, but in the past it has; EDIT: I have never tried on Windows Vista).

At http://www.ghacks.net/2008/08/26/windows-x...-windows-vista/ is an article I thought the members of this forum would be interested in. Also, http://blogs.msdn.com/wga/default.aspx may have more information. It appears that Microsoft Corporation has worsened the experience of users that opt to update their Windows Genuine Advantage components.

Any ideas as to what add-ons may allow downloading any file navegated to by Internet Explorer and retain original file date and time from server?
-
I just attempted to copy some files using Windows Explorer. The file copies retained the Modified timestamp of the original copied files. Is the CreateFile function used by IE the same function used by Explorer?I checked the Temporary Internet Files for downloaded files, but all files in the cache had Modified timestamps of the time the files were created (even files are were in the processes of downloading).
-
The link is to a procedure to disable Accessed timestamp, not the modified timestamp. I want to retain the original modified timstamp.

Indeed FlashGet has the optin (and functional by default).I have thought of using other download software that may integrate into Internet Explorer and capable of downloading any files (which FlashGet is not capable). FlashGet may fail to download some files (especially when Javascript is used to pull the file).

I found the thread that seems to have found a way around the pssword protection (although I am still uncertain if it applies to installers that do not prompt for password during normal install process). The thread may be found: http://forum.exetools.com/showthread.php?t=9137 What should be done to get around the password?

Problem with nvidia drivers and desktop icons
Ascii2 replied to ashnofear's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003

Compatibilty mode exists on Windows 2000, but is not usable by default. To register the Compatibility mode, run: Compatibilty mode may be applied to programs in Windows 2000 using shortcuts' Properties. Also, Winodws 2000 Support Tools includes an Application Compatibilty program that can set compatibilities.

After some thinking, you should be able to generate the Windows PID from serials."pidgen.dll" from the "%SystemRoot%\system32" directory should be able to generate the Product ID. From the Product ID, the product type should be determinable.

A similar thread from another forum is similar to this one: http://forums.winamp.com/printthread.php?threadid=293900 If the installer can continue its installation without prompting the user for a password, it should use the password itself during runtime. If the password is used during runtime it should be able to be captured. I remember from a thread I read (although I do not remember where) that Inno Setup compares hashes, and the installer's hash or hash comparison can be modified to allow extraction to complete. I did not know how to actually accomplish such a thing.

It seems that sites like 4oD and Demand Five require newer version of Windows Media Player. Sites like 4oD and Demand Five restrict media with Data Rights Management (DRM) to limit a user's ability to use the media. The requirement of the newer Windows Media Player version is probably to require enforcement of newer DRM (that is installed with newer versions of Windows Media Player). Perhaps there is a way to fool the sites Windows Media Player version check to report a newer version of Windows Media Player.

That is interesting. Are you willing to disclose examples of the websites. If so, which ones?

Yes. The information you seek is described at:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...ity/msgina.mspx You may acquire already created GINA DLLs (interfaces) (Google search to locate them; there are many). Some are free; some are not (such as from http://www.rohos.com/update_win2k.htm )

I once new the answer you seek; however, I have forgotten.

This could be due to an ActiveX, Browser Helper, object, or extension interfering with the function of the flash.Try removing or unrigistering ActiveX, Browser Helper, object, and extensions other than the for Flash and see if the problem is eliminated. You should be able to use StartupList (from http://www.merijn.org/programs.php ) to enumerate the items. No.

An update: It seems that in April 2008 Adobe published an article explaining how to configure autoupdate using a configuration file. The information is located: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase...cfm?id=16701594

Internet Explorer 6 is able to download files. When it downloads files, the "Modified" date of the files is set to the date and time of the download ("the problem"). I want to have downloads via Internet Explorer to have the date and times of the files from the hosting servers of the download. How can (if possible) Internet Explorer be made to retain original dates and times? I am using Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 or Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 and Internet Explorer 6 with SP1.

I do not believe so.
