My ECS 755-A2 (SiS 755) the SATA ports had a Win98 driver (supposedly) so I tried it (BIOS set to RAID) and the SATA drive worked in 32 Bit mode. With the BIOS set SATA to IDE it went into compatibility mode. Unfortunately, in RAID mode the ATAPI devices (CD/DVD) were inaccessible (on IDE ports). You could see them but not use them (on IDE ports), in BIOS SATA set to IDE the ATAPI devices worked (IDE ports) but SATA drive was in compatibility mode. here's the INF file for what it's worth: ; SISRAID.INF ; Copyright 2003 SiS corp. Add-On Maker for Nlite 1.2.4 Update: 06/17/2006
gkar replied to {_carnificina_}'s topic in Application Add-Ons
I ran nlaom-setup.exe at www.virustotal.com which used 36 AV engines. It came up positive on 2/36 engines. A lot of the AV engines were updated and had fewer FP hits than a few months ago. results here: http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/f54f482...063b6dc2559d7ab I still believe it is a false positive and will continue to use this great addon maker. -
WindowsXP-KB955839-x86-ENU.exe made into an addon using nLite Addon Maker (/quiet /norestart) keeps Kabul from showing up. For clean nLite installs. Make sure you DON'T include these 2 older Timezone hotfixes, WindowsXP-KB951072-x86-ENU and WindowsXP-KB942763-x86-ENU or the patch won't work. Should work for other languages.

List of johndoe74's Add-Ons [17 January 2009]
gkar replied to Happy-Dude's topic in Application Add-Ons
Great idea! JD74 tackles a lot of the toughest addons successfully. -
Thanks JD for another great addon!
-
Yes, it does install as an addon. Just make sure System-Restore is enabled in nLite. I'm pretty sure based on my experimentation's that it needs it. It doesn't install at T-13, it loads just before the install is finished prior to displaying the desktop for the first time. Verified on Win XP Home SP3.

It was probably a coincidence as it was a few years (and many beers) back. Have you tried Comodo Firewall? It is a pain in the a** at first but really worth the effort. John Doe created the addon and it is really worth the trouble looking at. Take care!

Did you play Quake3 with that handle? I remember playing and seeing that name.
-
Have you tried silent dot net maker? it creates a silent addon: http://www.msfn.org/board/Silent-NET-Maker...2-2-t90779.html

I've slipstreamed SP3 into XP Home SP1 many times with nLite 1.47, so 1.47 isn't the problem. Is your key valid? Also: [shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\My Theme (nL).theme" in your winnt.sif isn't a stock theme is it? Have you tried installing your Win XP SP3 straight off the un-nlited disk you got to see if it will install properly?
-
Thanks, it had the correct file.

I tried downloading the nLite 1.47 self-extracting but it was an inno setup file. Is there a working link to the self-extracting? thanks

Avira Antivir 8 Free - complete silent and unattended!
gkar replied to cool400's topic in Application Installs
I tried it with nLite and it crashed with a blue screen at T-13, WinXP SP2. Tried the silent installer repacked with a different .cab maker, same thing, blue screen crash at T-13 . Installs fine from windows desktop. Will try again with WinXP SP3. Nice program though. -
Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20080603)
gkar replied to Tomcat76's topic in Application Installs
Thanks Tomcat for the nice work (dot net 2.0 + updates). Works perfect for me in nLite. -
I was using nLite 1.01 for quite a while but when I stepped up to any of the newer versions the installation stops and prompts me to name my computer even though the info is already there. It doesn't happen on nLite 1.01 so I experimented and entered all the info (user key, passwords, username, etc...) using 1.01, then imported the nLited files into 1.4 and it works fine as long as I skip over the tab for user key, passwords, username, etc... and continue the process with 1.4, updates, service packs etc... It's not a major problem it just adds a step. Probably one for Nuhi

managed, these guys/gals are right, it's not more fun to make your own addons or silent installers or whatever you want to call it, it's more fun to split hairs or download someone elses...forget I mentioned it.
-
Yeah, but it not as much fun as learning to make your own addons.
-
You can make an addon with nlite plugin creator or nlite addon maker with the /Q switch. I haven't tried it but MP10Setup.exe /? says /Q for quiet install.

98SE2ME = Killer Replacements: ME -> 98 SE
gkar replied to MDGx's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
As stated in the 98SE2ME READ1ST.TXT guide [please see the "FAQ" section]:READ1ST.TXT none of the files installed by 98SE2ME change the OS core or kernel from 98 SE to ME. Therefore Win98 SE OS remains the same Win98 SE OS, WinME core/kernel/drivers files won't work, they will only lock up your computer. Moreover, this link [found in the quote above]:http://www.mdgx.com/98-5.htm#NEVER clearly states: HTH [Hope This Helps] Thanks MDGx
