  1. Never much got into Quake 3. I played a whole lot of Quake 1 TeamFortress/Mega-TeamFortress, Quake2 DM and HalfLife/Team Fortress Classic. .High*Ping*Drifter. "And a thousand, thousand slimy things lived on...and so did I."
  2. Would much appreciate it if someone could make an add-on for the latest version of ZoneAlarm...much thanks in advance... .High*Ping*Drifter.
  3. I guess I should be a little more clear...I am trying to generate a Slipstreamed Win2k disc, using NLite 1.4b. Windoze Genuine Annoyance never enters the picture. Putting the whole thing together in NLite, IE6 sp1 won't go in as a SP or as a Hotfix/Addon. Should it integrate a service pack would?? WOndering if my copy of IE60sp1.exe is corrupted or something... .High*Ping*Drifter.
  4. How to I slipstream IE6 sp1 into Windows 2000 Pro??? IE60sp1.exe won't install as a service pack (at least I don't get a "successfully installed" message), and it won't install as a hotfix/addon. Does anyone have it as a .CAB or something?? What am I missing here?? Much thanks in advance... .High*Ping*Drifter. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  5. Just wanted to add a quick THANK YOU! for the help I've received. I'm a total computer geek, but pretty much a newbie where NLite is concerned. It was a GREAT feeling last night when, after several hours of downloading, reading and working with NLite, I burned a disk that (successfully) unattendedly installed XP SP2, fully slipstreamed with all hotfixes, DirectX 9C, and all my favorite utility programs. BOO-YAH!!! Mind you, my wife & kids were unimpressed, but I thought it was pretty danged cool! Much thanx, etc... To Zip-Zap: I am not sure I understand what you are saying/asking here. The first screen that comes up is the Service Pack screen...following the slipstreaming of whatever service pack, then comes the HotFix/Add-On screen, which is where you would add any hotfixes and add-ons (in .CAB format) you want to have installed. BTW, the pictures you are referring to are old, from v1.0 RC5. I am using the new 1.4beta .High*Ping*Drifter. "The Walls! They're closing in!! Quick, help me prop up vegetable-man, or we're done for!"
  6. So...how do I slipstream DirectX 9c with NLite?? I'm a newbie with NLite and despite my reading the forums, so far I haven't figgered it out. Much thanks in advance... .High*Ping*Drifter. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  7. Okay, using NLite 1.3.5 on XP...SP2 slipstreamed just fine, and the HotFixes (62 of them) seemed to integrate just fine, at least NLite said it was integrating them and never gave an error message of any sort...in fact all went just peachy with my unattend until it auto-scanned for updates and DL'ed every single hotfix I thought NLite had integrated. Any ideas here?? Anyone?? Much thanks in advance... .High*Ping*Drifter. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  8. I've installed the SP on over a dozen machines and have had nothing but good results with it, every time. It patches WIn98SE and tweaks it to run as fast as possible. Nice stuff. Try it, you'll like it. .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  9. I have a dual-boot system, running Win98SE SP2.02 and Win2k SP4. I use Win98Se to run old games, plus my scanner doesn't have 2k drivers, so I am forced to run it under Win98SE to use it. Win2k is great for running everything else, especially when I have several programs open at once while I'm manipulating large graphix. Win98SE would bog down and crash. Best of both worlds on one computer. Works for me! .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  10. Personally, I've never been very impressed with ClamAV. If you like it, use it. Myself, I really like "Avast" antivirus. It's free and it works great, very configurable. http://www.avast.com/ .High*Ping*Drifter. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  11. I've installed v2.01 over v1.62 on three different machines and haven't had a hiccup on any of them. They all work great. Your mileage may vary. Peace, etc... .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  12. Just wanted to point out an irony here ..."Eiger" is German for "Ogre" ... go figger... .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  13. Does SP 2.01 absolutely require DX 9.0c?? Because I find that it uses more memory and bogs down an older computer more than DX 8.1b. Thanx in advance... .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  14. Yes, ever since I installed kb891711, I've had nothing but problems that never existed previously. Avoid this one at all costs! .H*P*D. "When in doubt, I whip it out!"
  15. What bauzer said is absolutely correct...if you use the SBC install disk, it loads in a proprietary version of Internet Exploder 6.x, and about 8 .EXE and .DLL files running in the background 24/7, which eat up a HUGE amount of memory and system resources. NEVER use the SBC install disk, just use IE or Firefox and configure it accordingly, you'll be much happier without all that danged SBC spyware running in the background. .H*P*D.
