  1. If you honestly have an original, which I believe you do, I'd just get a copy off a friend or neighbor. As you have an original license with your own key, that shouldn't be a problem. Good luck, eNuffSaid
  2. Marty, What you want cannot be done during the unattended installation. If, for example, you copy a bunch of files to "mijn documenten" of the Marty profile (eg. C:\Documents and Settings\Marty\Mijn Documenten) during your unattended installation, you will create a "Marty" folder in your C:\Documents and Settings. Now... if you were to log on to Windows FOR THE FIRST TIME as Marty, Windows will see that there ALREADY is a "Marty" directory in C:\Documents and Settings. Windows will presume this is some old profile, and create a NEW PROFILE for Marty. Windows will most likely call this new profile MARTY.<COMPUTERNAME>, where <COMPUTERNAME> is the name of your computer. You will have to write a script that copies your files AFTER your first logon. Hope this clarifies a bit.... Suc6, eNuffSaid EDIT: If your looking to do this after you've logged in, make sure to add the *.* as MCT said.
  3. @ Novalogic... Like I said, we don't agree the slightest bit. And you don't have to bit a bothered... I'm not . Glad to see at least somebody likes Bush. It's not easy for a country that's only historical cultural contribution to this planet is Marvel Commics and Fast Food.... sorry... that was below the belt. hehe.
  4. Sorry mate, but I completely disagree on your views... Also it seems you are referring to the terrorist threat which makes flying unsafe in the USA. Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're saying, but if you are indeed referring to terrorsism... I suggest you go to that monkey faced a$$hole of a president of yours. Its amazing to see a country travel so little and still have such a strong opinion on how things should be run in the rest of the world. But lawdy lawd... show a bit of TIT on US TV and the whole nation comes to a stop!!! LOL LOL LOL. We Europeans are laughing at you gringos! LOL! I'm not about to take this discussion ad infinitum, as it is mostly base on personal preferences. If lighting is your thing... go with Doom III. I'm for gameplay and HF2 will come with a new version of counterstrike. NOBODY plays that! Let them buy YOU gifts, too!
  5. MCT, You're not making things any easier on the people that are making an effort to help you. From what I read people are suggesting things and you simply reply by saying "that's not it" or "I don't do that"... It WOULD help a great deal if you could TELL US what exactly it is you ARE doing instead of letting us guess. Post your code! Your question has been answered many times before. And whether you like it or not, windows does this by design; ITS you that's making a mistake somewhere! Either search MSFN or state your situation clearly! This is going nowhere!!! From an experienced poster like yourself I would expect a little more common sense!
  6. Yeah... kill everybody and save the world. Haven't heard that one before...
  7. We'll just have to wait and see.... But summer vacation is NOT a good time to release. You *should* know this. X-mas season is MUCH better. During summer holiday a lot of people spend money TRAVELLING to places and SEEING things, soaking up new cultures. Sounds like your the kinda guy that spends his entire summer in front of the computer. j/k. And if you're looking for scary s***... Quake 1... how old is that game... that was scary too... Scary games have been around for a looooong time. Nothing new on the horizon here.
  8. I wouldn't say releasing during the holiday season (summer vacation) is an advantage. Doom III is just as hyped as HL2. It's just that I think HL2 will take FPS games to the next level, content wise speaking, Doom III won't; and I'm NOT talking graphics.
  9. I have to agree with TigerWolf. I'm not trying to flame-bait or anything. I've been an iD fan ever since Wolfenstein. But frankly I feel, by the time HL2 hits the streets, Doom III will be over and forgotten.
  10. Thanks Prathapml, I'm gonna use this with custom images!
  11. Thanks for this vital information, zippy
  12. That's a good find, Tim. And thanks for sharing it, too! Sorry about the people giving you a hassle for posting something interesting. They're just jealous of you, as they probably never have something to contribute themselfves. Plenty people are grateful! Thanks! eNuffSaid EDIT: Typos
  13. ;Enable Remote Desktop [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server] "fDenyTSConnections"=dword:00000000 Groetjes!
  14. Hi Aaron, Just wanted to you to know your help here in this particular thread is most valuable to me. It is always my very first stop after I hear about a WindowsXP security update. Bravo dear chap!
  15. I'm not sure about Winamp as I don't use it myself that much. I know Winamp will take .pls (?) files and MediaPlayer won't. So the command line I wrote will simply dump a .m3u file with all playable media in a particular directory. It can be very easily changed to output a .pls name. Media extensions can be added or removed easily. With CMExt I have to tell it from *which* directory I want a playlist created, which is easy, I check the "append directory" box. But I *also* have to tell it WHERE to output the file, and THAT is different every time. I've played with it all night yesterday, and finally gave up. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime, for now I'll live with having no icon with my "Create Playlist" context menu. I'm doing McAfee first. Thanks again!
  16. Well, gave it a shot. Looks very nice. Small application too. I have 2 context menu's I've created myself. One is the infamous McAfee trick, and the other is a "Create Playlist." With regard to the latter, I've tried porting the Creat Playlist context menu over to CMExt but I can't get it to work. This is because the output is always written to the user profile rather than the actual directory. I might email the author, but I read he's not developing it anymore. I'll be doing McAfee next. Don't expect to much problems for this one. Thanks again for spreading the word! Kind regards, eNuffSaid
  17. Hey Green, Its always a pleasure helping out! I wish you a great vacation with lots of sun, hopefully more than we've had in the past two weeks here in Holland. Keep up your good work, and I'll be knocking on your door after vacation. 'ave a good one, mate. Kind regards, eNuffSaid
  18. Hey hey! Yes, I have asked for this before. I have not read this post till now. And I do thank you for sharing this with me. This looks VERY nice. Just what the doctor orderd. Thank you for sharing this with me, maxXP! *click* Kind regards, eNuffSaid
  19. YES! need to say it! The amount of people that actually contribute to MSFN compared to the amount of people that visit this forum is only a fraction. Its only a handfull of people, like yourself, that make this all possible for a lot of people, and that is worth a "thank you!"
  20. Thanks Vel for taking the trouble to find those checksums.
  21. Hi GreenMachine, I don't use XPCREATE, but I would like to add the missing links for the Dutch hotfixes as posted by SlimShady here. The file contains only hotfixes that were succesful. Q831167 http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/e...b3d/Q831167.exe Q817787 MediaPlayer 8 http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/a...787-x86-NLD.exe This ofcoarse is only if your not updating to MediaPlayer 9. Q816093 There is no download (any more) for Q816093, other than the one for Windows2000 SP4. To some it may be know as "Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer (Build 3805, release 25-03-02)" It's not localized either. I've seen some people use links to the DX9NTopk package instead. As I don't use XPCREATE, I cant calculate the checksum values for you. Perhaps SlimShady would like to update his XPCTHLST.TXT. Thanks for all your work, Green. Adding localized support to XPCREATE is a splendid choice! Hope this helps a bit. With kind regards, eNuffSaid
  22. I was speaking sarcastically. With regard to your comment... Tons of downloads and only a handfull of comments. If you've been here such a long time you should know that by now! I even quoted you. Jeezzzz... Get it now?!?! ps... what's your definition of ages? Six months? LOL
  23. Welcome to MSFN.
