  2. pls listen to ripken he has the most knowledge of everyone here. He posted like several dozen question on each hardware he was "thinking" of buying. I wonder if he ever got a computer after all his post. I have been using Lite-On for a very long time. Never any problems In fact Lite_oN is one of the few that can make 1to1 copies of most Games and Movies for backup. if your going to buy a DVD writer make sure u purchase the one that has a LightScribe option. Flip your CD (lightscribe compatible) and use your burner like a laser printer. COOL!

  14. No, actually, I downloaded the video itself and opened it. Nothing happens. Asta, is that really how it's done? I tried to get proper Japanese input on my computer and was surprised to see that the only methods available really sucked. One, you type the sounds out using English letters, and the other makes a bit more sense, each key maps to one Japanese letter; but with both you have to pull down a menu and change modes to type Katakana (the Shift key types uppercase English ), and said menu is horribly buggy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you have to use a japanese keyboard. so cheap like 15 dollars. u have to order from amazon.com or buy.com i use a modified chinese keyboard.
  15. actually i dont... care to explain what a water bed and a typewriter does for you?
  16. @mrmb pls write some sort of guide. And then pm one of the moderators to put your guide on the first post of this topic. So that people dont have to go through 3 pages. provide the files u hv them. thanks!
  17. everyone knows about using the F6 to install SATA drivers. is there a way to put those drivers on a USB flash drive or CF card? I did not put this in the drivers section bec. it is not a driver issue but rather a way to use a CF or Memory stick.
  18. Bashrat Can i ask a big favor for u. Can u make me a mini install for XP64 bit?
  19. If you guys are interesting on the new folder structure under \DrvDsk, you could reference the article Microsoft announce for Server2003 http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/F6dirs.mspx It says about the Server2003 will load txtsetup.oem from proper subfolder as first priority instead of root directory, as the \i386, \amd64 or \ia64 folders is present. The benifits of it is to help user not to see many driver items in F6 installation. By following the new instruction, the RAID driver could be placed at different folders for different processor architectures. But the previous OS, including XP, can't recognize the fixed folder name. So, Windows NT4, 2000 and XP will parse the txtsetup.oem at root. That's why XP and previous OS still see 3 items as well. Only Server2003 will search txtsetup form the i386 and amd64 subfolders. If the boot CD is amd64 platform (SRV2003SP1 or XP-x64), it should only parse the txtsetup.oem from \amd64 subfolder and only one item is shown up. In the readme file, it also says that user should copy all files under DrvDisk folder. The driver disk VIA ComboRAID 4.30C provides should be the first fully compatible with the new driver disk structure I never saw.
