  1. I just tried with the new version of Hdaicout.hda, and - IT WORKS!! Thank you so much, I now have sound! It's a little bit distorted, but not badly so, and there is no control of course, but at last it's there. Presumably I can alter the volume by adding the appropriate entry in HDAcfg.ini. Here are the two files you asked for if you need to do more analysis. HDAICIN.TXT HDALOG.TXT The "HDA Sound" entry in the Multimedia control panel item is still sometimes missing, with a blank entry instead, but even when it's blank the sound still works. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

  3. AKA, the only one around these parts running Sandboxie on Vista . Appreciate the title though . Still with FF52 ESR, for the time being. Been playing with roytam1's Serpent and New Moon lately though. No problems with either in Sandboxie, so far. Sorry for taking so long to reply.

  4. I don't have them myself but when OnePiece Alb created his various update packs and addons he collected these. Thankfully he posted them on box.com for public access.

  5. The first time I just installed it over the previous 12.3.4.204 installation, and the installer hung. I then tried reinstalling 12.3.4.204, and it told me there was a more recent version installed! As the usual Adobe test page no longer works, it just redirects to the EOL notice, I tried a few other Shockwave test sites, none of which worked as they should, so I assumed the install was corrupt. Then I uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling 12.3.4.204 which hung again exactly as the 12.3.5.205 installer had done! I wondered if it was trying to connect to something online and not succeeding, so I uninstalled again and tried installing the latest version again with the internet connection disconnected. This time it worked, and very quickly! Whether my theory was right or not I don't know, but it seems to be installed OK now.

  6. Didn't see your post until just now, but Telegram Desktop also still works with Windows XP and Vista, I use it myself and it works fine: https://desktop.telegram.org/ However, it doesn't support group voice calling or video chat yet, but you can at least call people on it like you could with Skype, and of course you can IM/Group IM with it.

  7. An interesting little change I noticed in the April 2019 update rollup: For those that didn't notice, since 2009 with the release of SP2, Windows Vista's build number has been 6.0.6002 (while SP1 was build 6001, and RTM 6000). However, with the new rollup, Vista's build number has been changed to build 6.0.6003. At first I wondered if this was an error/discrepancy on MS's part, but turns out the change was intentional, according to this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4495374/build-number-changing-to-6003-in-windows-server-2008 Just an interesting little thing I thought I'd point out This change doesn't seem to affect functionality of anything though (at least not that I'm aware of), which is good.
