  1. I'm sorry. This is not relevant to the subject that is being discussed. But if you kindly use the search function, you will see: Malwarebytes is still officially supported for XP.

  2. Your statement suggests that there is no explanation on the linked Forbes website as to why Kaspersky was not listed. If that's what you meant to imply, I'm afraid that's not correct. The reasons are clearly stated on that website. Here is the link which can be found there easily: https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/software/best-antivirus-software/#why_is_kaspersky_not_listed_section

  3. Thank you, thank , thank you jaclaz! Facts, independent and unbiased statements is what we really need. I shall make sure to upvote your post as soon as the new drastic "timing" limit will be regenerated (reset) for the new day.

  4. I'm assuming it was Windows XP? Did you or your boss escalate the issue with their technical support? I got a full refund for their product, which seemed to cause slowness to my Windows XP PC.

  5. I put my trust in Forbes, it never let me down. Forbes is one the most reputable sources. There's no Kaspersky in the best 10 AV list, while the still supported XP version of Malwarebytes is being one of the "Best for Real-Time Protection". The article is free to read: https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/software/best-antivirus-software/

  6. Hi @Tihiy! After one of the updates, the behavior of the popup with app windows list has changed. Before it was limited to one display, but now it is displayed over all displays. If the monitors are absolutely identical - it's not an issue, but I have them different - 0.png. In theory popup shows correctly - 1.png, but in reality it is inconvenient to use - 2.jpg. It also appears on a fewer number of windows depending on the title lengths, but I rarely can reproduce this. Is it possible to limit this popup to single monitor or add a setting for this behavior? Also in this config the coordinates of the popup relative to the mouse cursor are chosen strangely (I expect that it should be above the cursor, as there is enough space) - 5.png, 6.png. As result: when closing windows via popup - it changes position(?!), loses focus and hides (video). StartAllBack 3.8.10, Windows 11 23H2 (22631.4169) 64-bit

  7. For SP52 I use the latest ublock mod by Astroskipper. For Mypal68 I use the latest Ublock Origin build for Firefox. For Supernium I was using v. 1.55 for Chrome. Following your implicit prompt, I updated to to the latest build for chrome, and now YT works as I want it to be. Cheers!

  8. I have updated the code of my custom button Restart & Purge to let it run the fully native restart code inside the UXP browsers to avoid any abnormalities. Restart & Purge v2.0 will be released soon after some additional tests. In any case, it should work then with New Moon 28, Serpent, Firefox 52esr and even the non-UXP browser Mypal 68. And most probably also with Pale Moon and Basilisk (the call up of the native restart code should be the same as in the other browsers) which I can't test, though. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  9. the upcoming PM 33.4.0 contains same changes as my 20240928 build. I suspect the problem is in https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon/commit/1e2b843b43800802180c0c11e5f6e06c8feb5db2 EDIT: this should be fixed: https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/commit/d80d4ba6ed4ef99132967d5a76b2090ee86c079b and you may open browser\omni.ja with WinRAR and edit chrome\browser\content\browser\tabbrowser.xml with change listed in above for a quickfix yourself, and next build should contain it.

  12. @roytam1 Thanks for the new release of New Moon 28.10.7a1 (32-bit) with the build ID 20241003070131 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20241005-d849524bd-uxp-73f3390cf8-xpmod.7z)! The error message "TypeError: 'referrerPolicy' member of RequestInit 'strict-origin-when-cross-origin' is not a valid value for enumeration ReferrerPolicy. Vorapis.user.js:54:115522" does not appear any longer in the Web Console when using the unmodified, original VORAPIS V3 userscript. The ported fixes in terms of the Bug 1460920 seem to do the trick. The issue with the missing suggestions while typing characters in the YT search box of the VORAPIS V3 frontend doesn't exist anymore. Thanks for that! FYI, the issue "ReferenceError: nsIWebNavigation is not defined" related to the extensions Speed Dial and Tab Utilities is of course also present in this release as it was in the previous one.

  16. @roytam1 I have just checked all releases starting after the end of July 2024. The Speed Dial issue "ReferenceError: nsIWebNavigation is not defined" definitely started with the release New Moon 28.10.7a1 (32-bit) with the build ID 20240922132822 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240928-d849524bd-uxp-716b990183-xpmod.7z). And the Tab Utilities issue also started with this release. Both extensions seem to produce this ReferenceError issue due to the same code change made in the identified release and break the session (re)store. So, you have to check only the most recent (custom) changes. Hope this will help you.

  17. @roytam1 Now we know that after this New Moon 28 release from the end of July 2024 the issue started to occur. So, it actually must have been a custom code change made by you as @UCyborg reported that the issue does not occur in Pale Moon. I am sure you will find the culprit and revert or fix it. Thanks in advance! P.S.: I will later check from which release exactly this issue occurred for the first time.

  18. tried older build date july, and yet-to-be-released new build. That's exactly what I reported before. In older releases of New Moon 28, this issue didn't occur. I have just tested New Moon 28.10.7a1 (32-bit) with the build ID 20240718150512 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240720-d849524bd-uxp-8fbf81bb8a-xpmod.7z), and the issue does not occur. That means there must have been a recent code change which makes this issue happen in New Moon 28.10.7a1 (32-bit) with the build ID 20240922132822 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240928-d849524bd-uxp-716b990183-xpmod.7z).

  20. Please provide fact checked articles to support your claims. There's a huge difference between reporting to "home" (company) and directly to security services. So don't mix all in one bag. Did you read the article? Or you just saying this to supress any discussions about Kaspersky? The article shows pros and cons, a very balanced and polite article, I'd say. Light on memory on one hand, not recommended to use due to the newly checked facts - on the other. Everyone decides for himself.

  22. I never had any problems with installers, and especially installers of antimalware programmes, in terms of detecting the .NET Framework versions installed under Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit (and even including all POSReady updates). So, I can't confirm this statement. But under Windows XP 64-bit, this seems to be more the case. I personally am really glad not to have to use Windows XP 64-bit.

  23. I have tested Malware Hunter in version 1.172.0.790 on my system, and it is still compatible with Windows XP. Accordingly, I updated my article. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  24. My statement about Malwarebytes' lifetime licence was meant only as an explanation why I prefer to use Malwarebytes Antimalware Premium under Windows XP, no more, no less. This kind of licence can't be obtained anymore. If you own such licence, there is no need for any annual premium subscription, though. As far as I know, the current premium licence to be purchased is valid for all versions, i.e. also for v1 and v3. This was always the case in the past, too. So if you buy a licence today, you can also use it for MBAM v3. This is the statement I received in the Malwarebytes forum from the moderators/administrators. But, as always, the proof is in the pudding. To confirm that one has to contact the support. BTW, the lifetime licence was a great "thing of the past", though. It even works with Malwarebytes v1 and will work with future versions under more recent OSs as already mentioned.

  25. Since you neither use nor appreciate the use of antimalware programmes, as you stated very often in this thread and in others, and since you actually have never reported new suggestions in terms of security programmes to move this thread forward, except talking about the same, already mentioned programmes or making offtopic notes, I would like to know what you are actually trying to achieve here. This is the second time you have suggested closing/locking my thread. To speak plainly, one simply doesn't do that, and it's not your job in the capacity of a simple member. In fact, it is a disregard for the hard work I have done here and the time I have spent in researching, installing, fixing, writing, structuring and posting, only to help other people who are looking for security programmes under Windows XP. Besides, I don't think you would like to read such statements, as I quoted above only from your last post, in one of your threads. Would you? And It also doesn't matter at all whether you like my thread or not. So please, reconsider your actions here! Thanks! AstroSkipper

  26. The reason is clearly stated in your quote. Forbes Advisor and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are both based in the US. The FCC's recommendation is crystal clear, and Forbes Advisor follows it. What more is there to explain? I think, actually, nothing at all.

  27. Thank you for the link to this article! Forbes has always been a renowned and excellent source of information of all kinds. Since the list of leading companies for security programmes is kept independent of versions and operating systems, it is relevant here. The editorial implementation there of what is or is not listed is consistent with the concept of security and confirms my stance here in the thread. Thanks again!

  29. @NotHereToPlayGames, wait a minute! You're deviating from the course! You were going to also remove "telemetry" to force us to use it, we "MUST", lol. OK, when shall we be seeing the patched version? Enlighten us, please.

  30. I think you may want to try this one , looks promising . I've had quite a good experience with them in the past , they are well optimised . Says your card is supported : https://www.nvidia.com/content/apac/icafe/my/spec.html http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/iCafe/375.60/375.60-icafe-win7-64bit-international-whql-driver.exe

  31. @Tonny52 , what the previous poster wrote is absolutely irrelevant . 1 - GTA V : You couldn't get such old drivers installed, 'cause they are too old for this card. So why he even mentioned about 36.x.x !? 2 - Cyberpunk 2077 (is this a mockery of some kind ? It's pretty obvious that the card is too weak for this) . 3 - "Having the latest one is necessary for playing modern titles" . No , it's not . See why . It's a well known thingy - developers from Eastern Europe love to force people to the newest drivers , like in this case . But what do we get in return ? Cyberpunk 2077 is a buggy , totally unplayable game . So let them "update" their drivers and play themsleves their "games". 4 - I have a good example of a modern game with absolutely outstanding graphics - Iron Harvest. It runs on drivers from 2013 - 2014 without any bugs ! But these develepors are from Western Europe (Germany). Feel the difference . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Art_Games Some links to the sources: "Investors sue Cyberpunk 2077 developers because game is unplayable": https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/gaming/investors-sue-cyberpunk-2077-developer-because-game-is-unplayable/ar-BB1cd85u You may try driver 382.33 , if you want smth newer - 416.34 , 418.81 are the best from the new , not good as the older ones , of course. (will be slower). Don't forget to remove telemetry before the installation with Nvidia slimmer . And use DDU to delete the previous drivers in SAFE mode . https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics-Driver-382-33.shtml

  32. Hi , why do you need the latest driver ? Your card is like what , 5 y.o. ? It's a well known situation when Nvidia slows down the older gens in favour of the newer ones. I don't know if it's done on purpose or not , but for me it's a fact. I'm still running 344.xx from 2014 and there are no better drivers yet . I've tested almost all available. You'd better use something closer to the release date of you card or up to 1 year of it's production. Also , it's a fairytale about "newest" drivers and whatnot.

  33. Thanks for the suggestion , actually GPUZ was the first thing I've tried . But any version of GPU-z starting from 0-8-5 hangs up the whole windows XP64 system to the point of hard reset . Please keep in mind that I'm talking about 64 bit , not x86. Older versions of GPU-z work fine , but they do not properly detect this GPU. By the way , Nvidia CPL must show the highest version of PCI express available, it shouldn't depend on the current load. And it shows gen. 2.0 on this exact PC with Vista x64. My card is not EVGA , I try to avoid EVGA as much as I can , I've had quite a few problems with their quality. It's just Nvidia (no other branding, from their website) , reference design. I do notice poor 3d performance with games on XP64, the same game is like 2x times faster with Vista. Hardware: GPU: Geforce GTX Titan 6GB mfg date February 2013, Motherboard: Fujitsu Siemens D3012-A11-GS3 DDR3 RAM 16GB with Intel chipset Q45 mfg date April 2011. CPU: Intel® Xeon® Processor X3370 12M Cache, 3.00 GHZ (Quad). PSU: FSP (Fujitsu Siemens Power) 600W ,rare design and size ,supplied with this PC, fits only Fujitsu/Siemens housings.

  34. you can't easily to downgrade profile from NM28 to NM27, this requires places.sqlite schema change this will require porting large chunk of code from NM28 to SP52, since NM28 is forked from FX24 UI, porting may cause UI breaking heavily, and I don't have enough time for porting and testing. only build config is changed, so something requires SSE2 will not work properly (for example, wasm)
