  1. Observe that ouf riends at Ridgecrop Consultants make the source of fat32format available and tell us it compiles with MSVS 6.0, so that adding an option for the command line version to align FAT32 should be possible and it even might be possible to interest them on doing it themselves. But, at the moment, @jumper also has a working setup for compiling things with MSVS 6.0, so he also might become interested in creating an experimental version of it.

  3. It's mid August, and WU and MU are still working fine on Windows 2000 and XP-x64 over here, with no signs of it stopping any time soon (I'd imagine it would display a warning to the effect of, "Windows[Microsoft] Update will be shutting down soon" to give users some advance warning. I'm starting to think maybe this was just some F.U.D designed to scare off the few who are still using XP. c

  4. Well, certificate for MS Update Catalog has already been updated on 12 July 2019, but the site is still available in Internet Explorer 8 via http and https. Just check the link: https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx You can still search for Windows XP/XP Embedded/POSReady 2009/WEPOS updates and download them at will. Now we can wait to the end of the year…
