  1. Past hour
  2. Do you really mean KB2890375 and not KB2890573? The latter is already in my archive and can still be downloaded. It is of version 10.0.40219.457.
  3. Today
  4. But you wrote you have an AV receiver already, do you mean it's very cheap, not suitable and with outdated codecs? What exacrly am I not comprehending?
  5. Then search for an extension that downsamples everything to 44.100, the muffled, highly compressed CD sound from the 1980s. It will compress the hell out of those loud bangs, it will reduce the dynamic range. I'm afraid my consultations are nowhere near those @D.Drakerwould have given, also afraid there will be no other replies since the forum looks pretty much dead without him, and the people still left simply have no such hardware
  6. My C++ 2010 is version 10.0.40219, with a KB2890375 update installed. My .NET Framework 4 is version 4.0.30320, with numerous updates applied.
  7. @Dave-H What are the version numbers of your latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 installations? I assume I might have a problem there.
  8. Thanks for posting a screenshot! And that definitely means that there is some kind of problem in my POSReady partition. But at the moment I don't have any clue what kind it is.
  9. I'll wait and see if you get a response from them before perhaps trying RogueKiller again. If they say what is the last version which should work with XP, and whether it still gets pattern updates, then we can go from there. This is my Panda Dome interface - I do have all the POSReady updates installed BTW.
  10. Today, Panda Dome 18.07.04 has been automatically updated to version 20.02.01 on my Windows XP partition. At the moment, no significant delay when starting the computer. So, you have installed Panda Dome, too. How does your main interface look like? Can you post a screenshot? On my POSReady partition, no interface background images are shown, quite unlike my partition without POSReady updates. I think that there is some kind of problem in my POSReady partition.
  11. Tha's why I suggested to try first version 15.0.0. If this version doesnt work either, you can forget about the 15 version series and try the 14 one.
  12. OK, moving on...... I've now installed Panda Dome 21.01.00. Looks good, it installed with no problem and appears to be all working fine. No initial signs of it slowing down the system startup, which is a relief. It does look as if there's no free trial of the paid versions, unfortunately, which means that I won't be able to check whether real-time scanning works without paying.
  13. Well 15.8.0 didn't work either, same issue, driver not loaded. According to the changelog, that version should definitely work with XP. I guess all we can do is wait until they respond to @AstroSkipper's support request. As it is at the moment, it's fine on XP for manual scanning, but if you want real-time protection, no versions that have been tried appear to work.
  14. With the Alpha-014 version, I'm experiencing the following blue screen error at WindowsMe startup: File name: HDA(01) + 00000B83 Error: 0E: 0028: FF0824A3
  15. Yesterday
  16. thats ICU update, I wonder if upstream encounter same issue or not, or I "enbugged" when backporting pre-NT6 changes. from Bad Request URL above, some dates becoming "Invalid Date" and I need a minimal code to reproduce it.
  17. I assume that the ransomware protection won't work in any RogueKiller version under Windows XP. Same as it was in Malwarebytes Premium 3.5.1.
  18. Here is a short interim report. Panda Antivirus Free 18.07.04 was also installed without any problems and has been running flawlessly so far. Let's see how long that lasts.
  19. I prefer the principle of interval nesting when testing programme versions for compatibility.
  20. Already done that! I'm now going to try version 15.8.0 which has the most recent changelog entry which mentions XP. "Fixed issues on Windows XP". So presumably that version did work!
  21. Try the first 15 version installer version that was 15.0.0! If it works, try a more recent. If not. try the latest 14 version that was 14.8.6. If this doesn't work either, try the first 14 version installer version that was 14.0.0.16. I wouldn't go any deeper. In any case, this is an issue they fixed in several versions. Check their changelog!
  22. What is much worse is that an existing installation is rendered unusable by updating the signatures. That is an outrage.
  23. ... Not only that, but the "DOWNLOAD" button on the linked website is NO LONGER clickable ; even worse, the download link you had previously archived, https://www.escanav.com/en/antivirus-downloadlink/downloadcounter.asp?pcode=MWAV&src=english_dwn&type=alter now returns: ... What a total scam !
  24. OK, I've been trying now with version 15. I tried installing it over version 16, and it installed, but then immediately updated itself to version 16 again! Once I'd properly uninstalled 16 and tried again, it has stuck, but of course is constantly nagging me to update it. Still no real-time protection though. The service is loading fine, but instead I'm now getting 'Driver not loaded' instead.
  25. When I checked the Adlice homepage via the Wayback Machine, I noticed they started in 2025 to announce compatibility notes with Windows 7 as minimum requirements. All the years before, there were no such notes on their homepage. Therefore, I think the 15.x.x.x versions should still be compatible with Windows XP. But trial and error is the best way. I would start with version 15.19.2 which is the latest 15 version. We will see what they are inclined to respond to my request.
  26. I'm open for suggestions. "Decoding is better done on hardware" doesn't sound like an option, I'm just looking to watch movies, not buy thousands of dollars in recording studio equipment. So I've been trying dozens of different software-based options.
  27. I see you tastes, you're better off converting Dolby/DTS to the old school PCM and then pass to AV, PCM sounds much more pleasant and softer. No "Crash! Boom! Bang!".
  28. I've now activated the 30-day trial, which I had forgotten about! Unfortunately, although it has activated other disabled functions, there's still no real-time protection. As you can see, the protection controls are still greyed out. Do you think it's worth trying version 15? I suspect they will just say that version 16 is no longer XP compatible. One other thing I noticed is that if I have it set to run at start-up, there is quite a long annoying pause in the start-up sequence, which is not good!
